2021: The next 10 This past year, Positive Impact New York has made incredible strides. Since celebrating our 10 year anniversary last year, we have picked up momentum that will carry us through the next 10 years. The entire Positive Impact New York family is looking forward to becoming an integral member of the communities that it reaches locally as well as nationally. Since our inception in 2010, Positive Impact New York has worked tirelessly to help young people become leaders academically, athletically and socially in middle school, high school and beyond. Though there is more work to do, we are well on our way to fully realizing our dreams with the help of incredible people and partners who support our mission. In 2021, we continued to strengthen our Board of Directors, expanded our Advisory Board, held our second successful Bike-A-Thon, partnered with 3 new organizations and served over 150 youth throughout the United States. As we continue to take our program to new heights, we are revamping our Next Level Mentoring program to assist students at our new partner, Riverhead Charter School as we continue to elevate our academic, athletic and social programming. 2021 was another milestone year for us as we continue to plant seeds for the future. We raised the most funds in our existence-over $25K-in Fiscal Year 2021 to better serve students, athletes and their families. Our 2nd Annual Bike-A-Thon held in May raised over $10,000 to support our programs and provide services to youth across the country. Thank you to the whole Positive Impact New York family for making 2021 such a phenomenal year for the organization. You continue to positively impact the lives of youth all over New York and the country. We would love your continued involvement in 2021, and we hope you can come to any one of our programs and see our youth in action. With warmest wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2022. Respectfully, Terrell Dozier

Our mission The mission of Positive Impact New York (P.I.N.Y) is to develop tomorrow’s leaders by preparing them for life in high school, college and beyond.

WHY WE EXIST P.I.N.Y was established to provide students and their families with support, as they transition through the different levels of their scholastic journeys. More specifically, we assist our students and their families with accessing high quality academic and social opportunities by ensuring that they are educated throughout their scholastic process.

WHAT WE DO Provide quality programming to youth in order to assist them in their academic, athletic and social journeys throughout their adolescent years

YOUTH SERVED NYS youth, ages 10-18 from various socio-economic backgrounds who need assistance academically, athletically and socially.

PROGRAM IMPACT Since 2008, we have assisted over 200 student-athletes with their journey to college through our various programs.

Programs M.A.A.P. is a student-athlete consultation service that provides them assistance with reviewing transcripts and schedules and ensuring that all clients are in compliance with NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) guidelines. M.A.A.P empowers student-athletes by providing them with academic and athletic support services to increase those prepared for high school and college. M.A.A.P. will serve as a support system for student-athletes and the challenges they face during their transition from middle school to high school and high school to college.

The Bridge Program is designed to provide incoming freshmen with tools and resources to jumpstart their first year in high school. Incoming freshmen have to deal with many new challenges on and off the court. The Bridge Program introduces students to relevant topics that teach them practices and habits they can use during their high school years. Different activities cover: goal setting and time management; providing opportunities to foster meaningful academic and social connections; and encouraging student-athletes to take ownership of their academic journey.

Next Level Mentoring (NLM) is a youth mentoring program under the umbrella of Positive Impact New York, Inc. providing mentoring programs for middle school youth in Suffolk County. NLM was created in the memory of Gordon Hamilton, a personal friend to P.I.N.Y. Executive Director, Terrell Dozier. Before his unfortunate passing in 2005, Gordon often spoke of plans for a program that would influence youth throughout his home state of Connecticut. Positive Impact New York honors Gordon’s legacy that was cut short and continues the work he started. The program forms partnerships with local school districts to foster a commitment to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future.
