2020: 10 years later This has been one of the most challenging years in the history of our country. We have experienced the COVID-19 pandemic as well as a level of social injustice that has not been seen in our country in quite a while. A bright light during this time is the 10th anniversary celebration of Positive Impact New York, Inc. As we look back on the last 10 years and how far we have come, we are truly excited about expanding and strengthening the services that we offer to our youth. This year-end report details our accomplishments in 2020 and looks forward to the future as Positive Impact New York continues to build on the success from last year. In the following pages, you will see the results of the hard work and dedication put forth by our staff, families and the community. Some 2020 highlights: we strengthened our Board of Directors and expanded it by adding an Advisory Board along with an Alumni Board of past participants of the program. We also held our first fundraiser, partnered with four new organizations and served over 100 youth throughout the United States. As part of our 10th anniversary, we are bringing back our staple Blackboards & Backboards Student-Athlete Academy as we continue to elevate our academic, athletic and social programming. This was a milestone year for P.I.N.Y. as we continue to plant seeds for the future. In 2020 Fiscal Year, we raised the most funds ever in our existence. This money allows uscto better serve student-athletes and their families. We also held a wonderful Bike-A-Thon in July which raised over $9,500 to support our M.A.A.P. programs and provide services to more than 150 youth across the country. Thank you to the whole Positive Impact New York family for making 2020 a transitional year for the organization. You continue to positively impact the lives of youth all over New York state. We would love your continued involvement in 2020, and we hope that you can attend one of our programs and see our youth in action. Respectfully, Terrell Dozier Executive Director Positive Impact New York

Our Mission The mission of Positive Impact New York (P.I.N.Y.) is to develop tomorrow’s leaders by preparing them for life in high school, college and beyond. WHY WE EXIST P.I.N.Y. was established to provide students and their families with support, as they transition through the different levels of their scholastic journeys. More specifically, we assist our students and their families with accessing high quality academic and social opportunities by ensuring that they are educated throughout their scholastic process. WHAT WE DO Provide quality programming to youth in order to assist them in their academic, athletic and social journeys throughout their adolescent years YOUTH SERVED Student-athletes, ages 10-18 from various socio-economic backgrounds who need assistance academically, athletically and socially. PROGRAM IMPACT Since 2010, we have assisted over 500 student-athletes with their journey to college through our various programs.

Programs M.A.A.P. is a student-athlete consultation service that provides them assistance with reviewing transcripts and schedules and ensuring that all clients are in compliance with NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) guidelines. M.A.A.P empowers student-athletes by providing them with academic and athletic support services to increase those prepared for high school and college. M.A.A.P. will serve as a support system for student-athletes and the challenges they face during their transition from middle school to high school and high school to college.

The Bridge Program is designed to provide incoming freshmen with tools and resources to jumpstart their first year in high school. Incoming freshmen have to deal with many new challenges on and off the court. The Bridge Program introduces students to relevant topics that teach them practices and habits they can use during their high school years. Different activities cover: goal setting and time management; providing opportunities to foster meaningful academic and social connections; and encouraging student-athletes to take ownership of their academic journey.

Next Level Mentoring (NLM) is a youth mentoring program under the umbrella of Positive Impact New York, Inc. providing mentoring programs for middle school youth in Suffolk County. NLM was created in the memory of Gordon Hamilton, a personal friend to P.I.N.Y. Executive Director, Terrell Dozier. Before his unfortunate passing in 2005, Gordon often spoke of plans for a program that would influence youth throughout his home state of Connecticut. Positive Impact New York honors Gordon’s legacy that was cut short and continues the work he started. The program forms partnerships with local school districts to foster a commitment to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future.
