CLUB NOTES AND UPDATES
Welcome to Parc Ynysderw for this Elite Stands UK Ardal South West League Round 2 game and a warm welcome to everyone associated with Seven Sisters Onllwyn. Welcome also to our Match Officials led by Adam Bray. Welcome also to members of our Academy who are attending tonight as Mascots and Ball Boys.
We had a cracker of a night on Friday when we hosted Pure Swansea FC in Round 1. A big crowd saw a thrilling game which we deservedly won through goals from Ben Scannell and Jake Barrow. It was a great occasion and we are looking forward to something similar this evening.
Our visitors tonight were only formed in 2020 but are a merger of two teams, Seven Sisters and Onllwyn Welfare with both teams being formed in the early 1900s and both teams are former Welsh League teams. Two great local teams now merged to become a force in the Dulais Valley.
Our next two fixtures are cup fixtures with the first this coming Friday against relegated Taffs Well in the Welsh Cup Qualifiers. Then, a week later, we make the trip West to Burry Port for a FAW Trophy Qualifier. Two tough games ahead for the lads.
A reminder that Ritchie and Tom are now on board as our new commercial and marketing team. We believe the guys will take us to a new level in terms of club awareness and promotion. We have done well in previous years but the guys are bringing some brilliant stuff to the table and we are looking forward to see how things progress. Luke re-joins the club after being away for a few seasons with Garden Village and Llangyfelach. A centre half with a great future at this level
Steve rejoins us after a few seasons at Trefelin in the JD Cymru South. A brilliant signing for the club to welcome back such a high quality player
Steffan is another who has joined us from Trefelin where he had an excellent season. Another excellent addition to the squad here at Parc Ynysderw
Steff is a product of our juniors and youth section. A quick and skilful player who can play at the back or up to top. A proven goalscorer at this level
Alex is in his second season with us and, despite an injury which kept him out for a long time, he was such an important part of our success. An energetic and uncompromising midfielder

Yet another exciting and talented player from the title winning Academy Under 16s who will no doubt be ready for Senior Football
"Scanns" had a great season and will look to build on this during the coming season. A skilful player with a superb strike who will be looking to increase a goal count in the coming 8 months
Will was our Peter James Young Player of the Year for the 2024-2025 season. An outstanding talent in midfield who outshone many an experienced opposition player last season.
With speed to burn Dafydd can turn any defender inside out as he proved on many occasion last season. Will be looking to increase his goal tally this year
"JD" is Mr Ponty …. Been with us since birth and is still one of our most skilfull players. A real stalwart of the club and a scorer of some real crackers with hopefully more to come this season
Roman is another exciting, skilful and speedy player here at Parc Ynysderw. He loves to take on players and scores his fair share of goals
Another exciting young player who has come through the academy and who will be looking to continue his development in our academy and senior squads
Max featured for the first team a few times last season and is another one of the title winning Academy squad players. A real talent with an eye for goal
Jesse will join us in August when he turns 16 and will be immmediately pushing for a first team start. He is a real talent and has an exciting future here at Parc Ynysderw
Tom returned to us last year after a period away at Swansea University. A speedy and skilful centre forward who will be looking to improve his goal scored count this coming season
Kyle has played at Swansea City, Merthyr Town, Yeovil Town and many more but more recently has been banging them in at St Josephs FC. A proven goalscorer who hope will help take us to the next level here at Parc Ynysderw
Nathan is a former player here at Pontardawe Town and returns to the club after playing at Seven Sisters Onllwyn. A proven goalscorer with a superb strike and a great addition to the squad
