This year’s Pilar Cup saw 18 teams between 24-30 goals compete throughout October at several Argentine clubs which culminated in the Final at the Alfredo Lalor de Pilar Headquarters in Pilar with La Irenita vs Centaurs. La Irenita trailed throughout, but the sixth and final chukka saw the team bounce back with youthful exuberance, the average age of the team was just 23-years-old, and with three back-to-back goals they managed to tie the scores, 9-9, and push the match into an extra chukka. Halfway through the extra chukka, Antonio Heguy, the son of Pepe Heguy and grandson of Alberto Pedro, scored the winning goal to take the title for La Irenita, 10-9.
