Guards Polo Club is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with Aston Martin. This iconic, British ultraluxury brand will become the Club’s official car partner in 2025. Like Guards Polo Club, the Aston Martin marque is synonymous with ultra-luxury and extreme performance, bringing further horsepower to some of the UK’s most prestigious polo events.
In addition to the role of official car partner at Guards Polo Club, Aston Martin will also be the headline sponsor of The Prince of Wales’s Championship Cup in 2025. This high-goal tournament features some of the sport’s top players, with finals day on Sunday 10 August bringing together the very best in dynamic performance. In addition to some outstanding, fast-paced polo, Aston Martin will showcase a unique display of coveted examples featuring some of the most regarded nameplates in motoring design.
There is further synergy between these two celebrated brands as the Club’s President, HM The King, owns an Aston Martin DB6 Volante, famously driven by the Prince and Princess of Wales at their wedding in 2011. His Majesty went on to own a 1986 V8 Vantage Volante with a bespoke specification, leading other owners to order a “Prince of Wales”, as well as a 1994 Virage Volante.

Veteran ESPN Broadcaster Chris Fowler to Host Prestigious 2025 U.S. Open Polo Championship
Global Polo Entertainment (GPE), the entertainment subsidiary of USPA Global, has extended its historic relationship with ESPN through 2026. USPA Global manages U.S. Polo Assn., the multi-billion- dollar global sports brand and the official brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA). The relationship continues to build upon the landmark deal between GPE and ESPN, which brought the sport of polo to a massive global audience for the first time in 2022. Since that time, the exposure to the sport has extended to many parts of the world and millions of households across multiple platforms.
In 2025, ESPN will show fans the most prestigious tournament in North America, the U.S. Open Polo Championship®, as well as the U.S. Open Women’s Polo Championship®, and the Gauntlet of Polo®, all taking place on the U.S.Polo Assn. Stadium Field One, along with the Women’s and Men’s National Intercollegiate Championship (NIC) games, in addition to other select international games. Adding to the excitement of the 2025 polo season, veteran ESPN broadcaster Chris Fowler will be on-site to host the 2025 U.S. Open Polo Championship on Sunday, April 20 in front of what is expected to be the largest crowd to ever watch the most prestigious tournament in North America. Fowler has been with ESPN for nearly 30 years, appearing on many of the network’s marquee properties, including hosting ESPN’s coverage of the Triple Crown horse races from 1998-2007.
Fowler is best known for his play-by-play for the company’s top college football game each week on ABC Saturday Night Football and SEC on ABC, where he works alongside analyst Kirk Herbstreit and sideline reporter Holly Rowe. Over the years, the Emmy-winning commentator has also been the voice of ESPN’s Grand Slam tennis coverage and has hosted SportsCenter, College GameDay – including three Emmy wins for Outstanding Studio Show – Weekly while Fowler was at the helm, and men’s college basketball, including on-site NCAA Final Four coverage.
"I've been a fan of the sport of polo for years, and now I’m excited to be part of the genuine polo experience by hosting the U.S. Open Polo Championship in front of what is expected to be the largest crowd to ever watch the pinnacle of the sport in North America,” said Fowler about his new role. "I have provided commentary on so many great games and athletes, and now I will be able to speak about an entirely different kind of athlete alongside their equine partners in this thrilling game of speed and precision."
“I’m also proud to be able to share this unique sport with the greater ESPN audience and give it the exposure it deserves as a competitive and skilldriven sport,” Fowler added.
The multi-faceted relationship will again bring the finals of the top North American polo events to ESPN platforms, with game distribution on ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, ESPN.com, and on-demand on the ESPN App.

By broadcasting many of the top polo tournaments in the world annually since 2022, including the U.S. Open Polo Championship®, the XII Federation of International Polo (FIP) Championship®, and the Paris Games Polo Challenge, the sport of polo has reached an entirely new and thriving audience on ESPN. The extension with ESPN will continue to bring more exposure to polo.
In conjunction with the games, ESPN will once again distribute multiple 25-minute made-for- television shows produced by GPE. The award-winning show “Breakaway: Presented by U.S. Polo Assn.” serves as a behind-thescenes look into the lives and careers of polo players and horses from around the world and will include “Breakaway” episodes such as “Polo in the Palm Beaches,” “Women in Polo,” “Polo in College” and “Polo in the England,” to name a few. Included in extended media distribution, these episodes will also air on StarSports, beIN Sports, and Times of India.

At the end of the 48th New Zealand Polo Open high goal final held at Auckland Polo Club on Sunday February 16th, team Brinks (Steve van den Brink, Henry Batchelor, Nick Keyte and JP Clarkin) was awarded the Standing Rock Fair Play Award for demonstrating exceptional conduct, sportsmanship and horsemanship throughout the competition.
Emerging as runners up in the thrilling final match played in front of a crowd of over 4,000 spectators, Brinks was chosen by the umpires Andrew Williams and Sam Kirkpatrick as the recipient of the Standing Rock Fair Play Award, due to the exemplary sportsmanship, respect for umpires, positive attitude and discipline the team upheld for the duration of the tournament. Ahead of the games commencing, a representative from every high goal team attended a briefing about the award, which explained the criteria the umpires would be evaluating during each game. The criteria comprised:
● Sportsmanship - Respecting opponents and fair play.
● Respect for Umpires - Adherence to umpire decisions without dissent, and maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
● Discipline - Displaying punctuality, appropriate conduct and commitment to pony welfare on and off the field.
The two professional umpires both evaluated and scored teams after every match, with Auckland Polo Club overseeing the scoring and calculations to ensure the process was fair and transparent. Having exhibited the highest standards of sportsmanship, horsemanship, integrity, conduct and camaraderie on and off the field, the prestigious trophy was presented to Brinks by the umpires Andrew Williams and Sam Kirkpatrick, along with Auckland Polo Club President Tony van den Brink during the final ceremony.
Andrew Williams commented on how the award is already having a positive impact on polo: “As umpires, we often record and penalise negative actions on the field, such as yellow or red cards, but this award gives us a way to highlight and reward positive behaviors. Giving players points for sportsmanship, horsemanship and conduct and even somet hing as simple as a green flag for each game, will shift the focus to encourage and celebrate the good moments, fostering a more positive and supportive atmosphere on the field. Making participation for all better.“

"Having grown up in an inner city area of London at a time when the mere mention of Polo invariably was accompanied with images of royalty, it's understandable why the sport was saddled with the label of being elitist. Nevertheless, time has a habit of being a conduit for both healing or in this case growth. As a father, I travel to the USA every year and am gratefully gifted with the joy of watching my son play the very sport I once stereotyped as being out of reach of the majority of society. Being wrong is now a habit I've got used to and being a filmmaker I am in the fortunate position to be able address outdated views that still exist and inhibit people from enjoying what in reality is a beautiful exhilarating sport and can be enjoyed by all. Katarina, can you briefly walk us through your story - how was KAANDA born, and how did your previous experiences shape the brand’s identity?
KAANDA was born from my love for travel, craftsmanship, and the laid-back elegance of coastal living. It all began in Thailand, a place with a special energy, where vibrant colors and luxurious textiles come together in perfect harmony.
The name KAANDA carries a tapestry of meanings: in Thai, it translates to “my darling” or “the woman I love”, while in Pali it means “goddess”, “sixth sense” and “protector of mankind” - all symbols of strength and femininity that deeply resonate with me.
My background in fashion and luxury has been instrumental in shaping the brand’s DNA. I learned the power of fine fabrics, thoughtful design, and meticulous attention to detail, but I also recognized the need for a more eco-conscious approach - the one that honours sustainability without compromising sophistication.
KAANDA celebrates the diversity and beauty of all women. From fit to fabric choices, how do you ensure inclusivity?

Each piece is crafted to be not just worn but to be experienced.
While inspiration is found everywhere, Thailand holds a special place in KAANDA’s story. The country’s vibrant culture, intricate craftsmanship, and captivating coastal charm deeply influence our aesthetic. The rich colors of Thai silk, the fluidity of traditional draping, the delicate balance of innovation and heritage, all play a big role in our designs.
We also draw inspiration from global travel and architecture: the layered textures of Moroccan souks, the pastel colour palette of Mediterranean shores, or the sleek minimalism of urban retreats - each collection tells a story, inviting women to embark on their next adventure.
Your collections are known for their refined style and commitment to sustainability. How do you balance these two elements without compromising on quality or aesthetics?

From the very beginning, our mission has been to create beautiful, high-quality pieces that respect both the planet and the women they are made for. Our swimwear is crafted from premium recycled fibers that not only extend the life of each piece but also reduce waste and minimize our environmental footprint.

I am a big fan of your beachwear collection! When did you decide to expand beyond swimwear, and what motivated the move?
Thank you! As the brand evolved, venturing beyond swimwear was a natural next step. We envisioned a complete resort wear experience, allowing a smooth transition from sunsoaked days to stylish evenings. Our collection of breezy kaftans, cover-ups, and dresses blends luxurious fabrics with relaxed silhouettes, capturing the essence of vacation chic. At its core, this expansion is about helping women to navigate life with confidence in any chapter of their journey.
Of all of your creations, do you have a personal favorite?
Choosing a favorite design feels like choosing a single moment in time - it’s nearly impossible because every piece tells its story. But if I had to pick, I’d say my favorite piece is always the one I haven’t created yet. KAANDA is constantly transforming, and the excitement of working on something new, pushing boundaries, and bringing fresh inspiration to life is what keeps me passionate.
As KAANDA celebrates 15 years this November, we’re marking the occasion by bringing back some of our most loved prints from previous collections, reimagined with modern twists. The upcoming 2026 release is about honouring the past while embracing the future - a tribute to the women who have worn KAANDA over the years and those who will continue to make memories with us. The best is yet to come!
How do you want women to feel when they wear your creations?
At KAANDA, we celebrate femininity in all its forms - strong yet gentle, timeless yet ever-evolving. When a woman slips into one of our pieces, I want her to feel completely at ease, whether she’s strolling along the beach, sipping cocktails by the pool, or exploring a new part of the world. Our designs accentuate natural beauty without overpowering, offering the freedom to move gracefully, savour every moment and live to the fullest.
We’ve all had that last-minute hunt for the perfect swimsuit ahead of our vacation - chic enough for a yacht but also comfy to lounge in all day. Any tips on finding “the one”?
Absolutely! For a suave jet-set look, I always recommend our white Venus bikini or one-piece. This classic design manifests understated luxury with clean lines and a flattering fit, making it a must- have for any getaway. Besides, white swimwear naturally accentuates tanned skin, lending a refined touch and a radiant holiday glow.

Today, your brand generates more than 20 direct and indirect jobs, exports to 25 countries across 4 continents, and boasts 6 flagship stores in Phuket. What’s next for KAANDA?
Born from a dream in Thailand, we have grown into a globally recognized brand, and this is just the beginning. Looking forward, our goal is to expand KAANDA’s international presence. We’re excited to bring our vision to new destinations - from luxury resorts in the Maldives and the Caribbean to dynamic fashion capitals in Europe and the Middle East. Wherever the sun shines, KAANDA will be there.

2025 brings the 270th anniversary of Vacheron Constantin, an anniversary that will be celebrated throughout the year. To kick off celebrations, and in response to the expectations of its clients, they have launched a new Historiques 222 timepiece in stainless steel. Initially launched in 1977 to mark it 222nd anniversary, the model captured a new cultural mood that blurred the lines between formality and sportiness and introduced a new stylistic signature to the Maison. In 2022 they launched the re-edition in yellow gold which benefitted from several technical improvement from the design of the bracelet, an openworked caseback to reveal the in-house calibre 2455/2, and a movement which offered enhanced precision and was endowed with a 40-hour power reserve.
This new steel version, like all the models in Vacheron Constantins Historiques collection, marks an important point in the Maison’s history whilst retaining the distinctive design and charm of the original.

Tell us about yourself, how did you start your career?
I started my career in the beauty business at the young age of 20 years. I opened my first beauty institute in a medical center, specializing in medical beauty with a focus on achieving natural results only. I worked as an assistant in plastic surgery and as a consultant creating Health-andBeauty projects, also organized Hands-on trainings for new anti-aging techniques. I'm the founder of the first Academy for Permanent Make-up and Filler perfection proved by medical standards.
What inspired you to start your skincare brand?
I have been working in the beauty industry for four decades. Throughout my career, I have opened several perfume stores, including a medical center, and collaborated with the most famous brands worldwide. My inspiration to develop my own pure, clean beauty line came from my focus on using the best ingredients to achieve the best results. This was my heart project—to create a skincare line that transforms every skin type into its best, glowy, and healthiest version.
What are some of the ingredients you use in your skincare products?
My specialized product line is a concept with 100% natural ingredients. The goal is to create VEGAN products that are completely natural, cruelty-free, and PEG-free while also meeting halal standards. I developed it using the best natural essences in high concentrations, including medical plants like Centella Asiatica and epigenetic-based formulations. The essence of my products is that they can be applied to the entire face, neck, and even the delicate eye area. In the beginning, polo was a training game for cavalry units. To these warlike tribesmen, who played it with as many as 100 to a side, it was a miniature battle.
The Moguls were then responsible for taking the game from Persia tot he East, where it became known as “the sport of kings“.
Polo is taken from the word ’pholo’ meaning ’ball’ or ’ballgame’ in the Balti language of Tibet.
By the 16th century polo was well established in India in Mainpur, the English Army Officers discovered the game. They went on to found the world’s first polo club.
Today, more than 77 countries across the world play polo. It was an Olympic sport from 1900-1939.
Polo continues to represent the pinnacle of sport. This is a feeling epitomised by the famous verse inscribed on a stone tablet next to a polo ground in Gilgit, Pakistan:
