One of the world's top snow polo tournaments is the only snow polo event in North America. It is one of Aspen's major international sporting events and kickoff to the holiday social season in Aspen.

The sport was first played on a frozen lake in St. Moritz, Switzerland, created by Swiss hotelier and polo visionary Reto Gaudenzi in 1985 and has been growing in popularity ever since, attracting thousands of spectators and top players from around the world. Palermo A spectacular Argentine Open Camilo Castagnola, better known as Jeta, celebrated his 19th birthday on Monday, December 13, 2021. But he received two early gifts: on Saturday, December 11, he won his first Argentine Open with La Natividad, and on Sunday, December 12, his handicap was raised and he became the youngest 10-goaler in history, surpassing previous records set by Adolfo Cambiaso and Facundo Pieres records. It was a very well deserved achievement for the forward, a young boy who has outwitted many seasoned players.

On Sunday, December 12, after final that marked the end of the season in Argentina, the Argentine Association of Polo announced handicap changes. Following La Natividad’s epic victory at the Argentine Open, Barto and Camilo Castagnola, and Polito Pieres, were awarded 10 goals. This meant that, at eighteen, Camilo “Jeta” Castagnola became the youngest 10-goaler in history. La Natividad played a fantastic match against the legendary Adolfo Cambiaso and his La Dolfina Saudi. They showed attitude and determination over a team that has left their mark on the history of polo. According to Jeta, there was no plan at all: “It is something that just happened,” he says. “We agreed that we had to take the man, and we didn’t play with fixed positions; it simply just happened.”

While a staple within the Ulysse Nardin collection for the past 20 years, we cannot highlight enough that the Freak was - upon its release in 2001- one of the most forward thinking, ground breaking and influential watches of its era. The Freak started off as a central carrousel “tourbillon” project originally designed by Carole Forestier Kasapi and implemented by genius watchmaker cum philosopher and Ulysse Nardin’s technical director: Ludovic Oeschlin. The result was nothing short of the extraordinary with the Freak featuring a brand new dual direct escapement using – a first in watchmaking - silicon escapement wheels. The revolving movement was visible on the dial side, the gear train and escapement rotating once every hour doubling as the minutes hand. Ulysse Nardin’s dual direct escapement incorporates two escape wheels operating alternatively and giving two impulses per oscillation. To obtain the best possible results these escapement wheels needed to be as light as possible, thus the novel and groundbreaking use of silicon (which had the further advantage of not needing lubrication). The watch was further wound using the back bezel and time was set using the grooved top bezel. The present watch is the prototype P001 of this disruptive and historically relevant piece that changed the face of watchmaking as we know it.

SELFRIDGES OPENS NEW BAKERY DESTINATION Selfridges adds a new bakery destination to its London Foodhall with an offer of delicious fresh pastries and bread baked everyday in store, alongside specially selected items from London’s best bakeries. The new bakery is three times bigger than the previous offer and located next to Selfridges Pop Up Kitchen and the Little Moons’ Pic ’n’ Mix counter. Selfridges sold for $5bn British luxury department store chain Selfridges is being sold to a Thai retailer and an Austrian property firm.

Founded in 1908 by US retail magnate Harry Gordon Selfridge, the company is best known for its flagship department store on London's Oxford Street. The Canadian wing of the billionaire Weston family bought Selfridges for nearly £600m in 2003.

"It is a privilege to be acquiring Selfridges Group, including the flagship Oxford Street store, which has been at the centre of London's most famous shopping street for over 100 years," Central Group's chief executive Tos Chirathivat said in a statement. Selfridges Group employs around 10,000 people and owns 25 stores worldwide, including in major cities in England, Ireland, the Netherlands and Canada. Signa and Central will take over 18 of the 25 stores. Selfridges Group's seven Holt Renfrew department stores in Canada were not part of the deal and will remain in the ownership of the Weston family.

Selfridges' new owners said they plan to build on the existing brand to develop luxury online stores as well as improving its physical sites.

"Together we will work with the world's leading architects to sensitively reimagine the stores in each location, transforming these iconic destinations into sustainable, energyefficient, modern spaces, whilst staying true to their architectural and cultural heritage," Signa's chairman Dieter Berninghaus said.
