Community Service is very important. Many people may contribute by cleaning up trash, helping teachers, or volunteering at shelters. Community service is unpaid work someone does to give back to the community. Personally, I believe more people should participate in community service.

Kira: I think it's important because it shows that you are committed to POCS.

Aaliyah: It's important to teach responsibilities.

Tae: So that we can connect more with our community.

Why do you think community service is important?

Ms. Dolan: It gives people the opportunity to give back to the community. It allows people to play a part in our community and teaches responsibility. It shows how impactful we can be to our community. It also shows us how if everyone comes together we can make a big difference.

EJ: I think it's important for your college resume.

Shereena: I think it's important because it gives back to the community.

Rafael: So that you can graduate and participate in field trips.

Nevaeh: I think it's important because people should know what is going on and be more helpful rather than sitting around.

Stella: It shows that our school is giving back to the community and shows that we care about the people around us.

Faye: Because it's a way of giving back to our school since we go to school for free.

Joe: I think it's important because it teaches people to do things without being payed. Instead, out of the kindness of their own heart. Have you finished your community service yet?

If not, there are many different examples of community service such as:

Improving the environment such as planting trees, composting, and cleaning out rivers.

Working with students: Volunteering at the YMCA, tutoring, and donating school supplies.

And more!
