PACIFIC NORTHWEST FCA 2024 ANNUAL REPORT

ROMANS 15:13

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

VISION MISSION

TO SEE THE WORLD TRANSFORMED BY JESUS CHRIST THROUGH THE INFLUENCE OF COACHES AND ATHLETES.

TO LEAD EVERY COACH AND ATHLETE INTO A GROWING RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH.

I have one goal as you read this report: That you would see how you are a vital part of the solution to the chaos in our world today God is using FCA as a spear to pierce the darkness all around us, and that gives me hope I pray as you read these stories you would be overflowing with hope as well.

Romans 15:13 is our camp verse: "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit " How do we partner with God in awakening an army of disciples that live with 24/7 overflowing hope in Jesus? I think that's the question we are here to answer.

The consequence of sin has devastated the world around us This next generation is consumed by digital trash and lost in hopelessness Depression is now the leading cause of disability worldwide. As a society, we are facing an identity crisis of epic proportion. Coaches and athletes don’t know who they are or where they belong. No one has ever showed them a vision or purpose for their lives Life comes at them hard and fast and so they quit Coaches and athletes are getting off the bus. No, not after school. I mean the bus of life. We need to get in the game.

The only solution to this hopelessness is found in Jesus Christ and the new life He offers us through faith in His saving work But how will coaches and athletes hear this good news unless someone tells them? This is why we need an army of disciple makers: mentors, coaches, teachers, neighbors, pastors, moms and dads. Disciple makers that are devoted to having collisions with coaches and athletes in the context of meaningful relationships, where we point them to the truth of God’s Word, the implications it has on their lives and empower them to be agents of change in a broken world. This is FCA’s vision, our mission and our strategy.

Our future hangs in the balance. These coaches and athletes are the leaders of today and tomorrow In Galatians 6:7, Paul gives us the principal of reaping what we sow. Join us in making deposits of Christ into a lost, confused and lonely generation. Join us in empowering leaders, rooted by their faith in Christ, bringing eternal hope for generations to come. This is the time for God’s people to stand up -- invest and get in the game.

God Bless,

PACIFIC NORTHWEST REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT

DEAR CHAMPIONS, RYAN JOHNSTON

THE WIN THE WIN

DISCIPLES MAKING DISCIPLES

ON CAMPUS OFF CAMPUS

Coaches and athletes on college, high school and middle school campuses are being empowered to take the Gospel to their peers by leading Huddles where they gather regularly to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. The win of a Huddle is to empower key leaders to create an environment in the sports community where the Gospel is made known and lived out through intentional conversation.

Where coaches and athletes are, FCA seeks to be relevant and present in these environments. The culture of sports has changed. The majority of athletes and coaches are competing off-campus through clubs, leagues, tournaments and in non-traditional environments. Regardless of the environment, the win remains the same: disciples making disciples.

GREATER SEATTLE FCA CAMP

157 Athletes

10 Sports Environments

22 Salvations

49 Re-commitments

Eight years ago, Shanna, a former FCA staff member in the Pacific Northwest region, walked the campus of Northwest University, praying for a camp to happen in Seattle. Despite FCA’s strong presence at the University of Washington (UW), Seattle had never hosted an overnight, faith-based multi-sport camp. The vision of a Seattle camp remained a dream until this year when JJ Breilh, current FCA Director at UW, witnessed the overflow of campers at Idaho’s FCA camp and felt called to bring a similar experience to the western region of the Pacific Northwest. JJ's vision was clear: to create opportunities for kids in Seattle to encounter Christ through the platform of sports. The right team, donors, and volunteers came together, turning this dream into reality.

The inaugural Seattle FCA camp at Northwest University saw 157 campers, from multiple states in the region, participating across various sports: baseball, basketball, soccer, football, and wrestling for men; basketball, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, and softball for women. Supported by 29 Collegiate Huddle Leaders and with 80 staff and volunteers, including 34 unique coaches, the camp was a resounding success.

FCA camp ministry is a place where the best attributes of high-level athletic training and a spiritualfocused camp align The goal of any FCA environment is to provide an opportunity for coaches and athletes to experience a collision with the Holy Spirit, altering the direction of their lives. This year, 22 campers made first-time commitments to Jesus, and 49 recommitted their faith, ready to live a life on fire for the Lord.

Looking ahead, the vision for Seattle Camp is to build on this momentum. JJ envisions the camp as a catalyst for ministry growth in the Greater Seattle area, reaching not only more campers next year but also expanding to serve Western Washington and Oregon communities where FCA ministry doesn’t currently exist. The goal is to engage more coaches and athletes, providing them with a transformational experience that equips them to lead others in their spheres of influence.

Ultimately, the Seattle Camp is more than just an event it's a launching pad for discipleship and ministry. As JJ put it, "This camp is a catalyst, a driver for hands-on discipleship opportunities for student leaders and coaches. We're beyond excited to see how this will permeate into our middle school, high school, and collegiate ministries in this region."

How did you first get involved with FCA?

I first became involved with FCA when my high school basketball coach planted a seed through gifting me, Heart of an Athlete, an FCA devotional book that I began to read before every game. So, as my freshman year at PLU started, and I was informed there was an FCA Huddle on campus, I had to get involved! I loved the devotionals so much, I couldn't wait to experience FCA in-person I began attending Huddles weekly Eventually, I was invited to serve at the Idaho MultiSport Camp as a Huddle Leader, where I met Jessica Squires, who began to disciple me for six years and counting! Through FCA, Jesus transformed me from an athlete who just happened to be a Christian, to a Christian who just happened to be an athlete

Heart of an Athlete

Why do you believe FCA is so important in today’s culture?

Within today’s culture, countless coaches and athletes are living by fleeting and secular ideas about their identity and purpose FCA works to show coaches and athletes the truth and power of a God-given identity and the importance of striving to fulfill a Kingdom-oriented purpose

We are entering a new era of athlete, where young people are being thrown challenges that have never before been seen in athletics; unattainable standards seen through social media highlight reels, the transfer portal escape, NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals, and most influentially, a loneliness epidemic resulting in the highest suicide, depression, and anxiety rates for young people in human history FCA works to bring the only hope to the world, Jesus Christ, through discipleship We engage the athlete and coach right where they are at, equip them spiritually to be found in Christ, and empower them to be change-makers in their circles of influence as a disciple who makes disciples

What excites you about your role with FCA?

The most exciting thing about working with FCA is knowing that my efforts go directly to providing opportunities for athletes and coaches to collide with Jesus As someone whose life was eternally impacted through this ministry, I am ecstatic to be following God's lead as He uses FCA to expand His Kingdom and grab hold of His sons and daughters through sport

What are you excited about in this coming ministry year?

I am super excited to see how God continues to move in the South Sound in this next ministry year Six months ago, there were three active Huddles Today there are 10 and growing God has planted seeds in fertile soil and now they are being watered as student-athlete leaders and coaches are discipling others and pointing each other back to Christ The harvest is plenty and I am excited to see God provide even more workers! I am also really excited to see how the second year of camp goes for the Greater Seattle Area Year one was influential in 22 first time commitments to Jesus, and I cannot wait to see how God moves in year two.

How do you see God working in the Greater Seattle area?

God is stirring in the Greater Seattle area It is no secret that Seattle and its surrounding cities are some of the most unchurched peoples in America, and yet through FCA, we are seeing a movement of disciple makers rising up and fighting the good fight all over western Washington Not only are we seeing God soften the hearts of people who need to hear the Gospel, which can be seen through a 900% increase in Huddle attendance in the South Sound last year, but also can be seen through believers rising up and joining team FCA as staff God is challenging His people to get in the game, and they are stepping up to the plate

How did you first get involved with FCA?

I unfortunately didn’t even know that FCA existed until after I started coaching softball at Kennewick High about 12 years ago I so wish that I would have known about this organization 40 years ago when I was that high school Christian athlete looking for somewhere I would feel at home I first started being involved with the Huddle at Kennewick High School, then I went to my first MultiSport Camp in 2019 in Nampa, ID and will keep going back until they drag me off the field I have been a part of the Tri-Cities FCA Board for the last 4 years I love every part of the ministry of FCA

How has being involved with FCA made an impact on your life? Your faith? Your leadership?

FCA has made a huge impact on me as a person As a coach, I have found my people The space where I can be authentically me I have been able to surround myself with people who love Jesus, love athletes and love sports As a female growing up liking sports, it was often hard to connect with other ladies and felt a wee bit out of place FCA has helped me understand that God created me just the way He planned for the ministry He had in store for me The teaching and

In today’s culture, why is FCA relevant and impactful?

coaching tools that FCA provides are amazing FCA so understands the heart of Jesus and they also understand athletes and what they need I love and I am honored to be a small part of the lives of young athletes To be able to share with them the love and faithfulness of Jesus is such a blessing I especially have a heart for female athletes. Making sure they know that Jesus created them in His image and that they are fearfully and wonderfully made Reminding them that He has incredible plans for them as they use the gifts and talents He has given each and every one of them We have been having an FCA ladies Bible study this summer and we ended with four of them getting baptized Highlight of my summer!

I wholeheartedly believe that FCA was made for such a time as this The world of athletics seems to be the one venue where it is still acceptable to proclaim your belief and love for Jesus Athletes in our country are held in such high regard, that the world is willing to listen to what they have to say It is an open door to share the love of Jesus! Also, our young athletes have such intense schedules these days that many become disconnected with church and youth groups as their schedules fill Having FCA in our high schools gives them an amazing space to connect with other students and athletes that love Jesus It helps them know they are not alone and provides a place of community and a place to grow in their faith It provides a place where they can easily invite their friends to hear about Jesus.

The camps in the summer are lifechanging, not only for the athletes but for the coaches as well All I can say about the camps are they are a small picture of what heaven will be AMAZING

Jesus is moving in the young people in our nation and I do believe FCA is playing a significant role in that Can’t wait for what is ahead!

Josh Andrews

Empowered Volunteer, FCA Football

How did you first get involved with FCA?

I first got involved with FCA through one of my former neighbors who works for FCA, Mikel Hawks (PNW Creative Director) My college teammate Brandin Cooks and I have worked out together at the same place during the last three years of my NFL career. In the summer of 2022, Mikel mentioned that Brandin was going to speak at an FCA football camp at Horizon Christian High School So, I went out to support him, not really knowing anything about FCA It was different from any camp I had attended growing up something I wish I had experienced and something I want my kids to be a part of as they grow up and learn to walk with Jesus

In today’s culture, why is FCA relevant and impactful?

Today's culture, especially among younger generations, is heavily influenced by social media This constant exposure brings about comparison, temptations, and a desire for instant gratification In this context, (FCA) serves as a crucial guide for young people, particularly those involved in sports, by emphasizing what truly matters: God's Word and His ultimate authority FCA encourages athletes to glorify God in

everything they do, recognizing the immense sacrifice He made for us This perspective fosters gratitude, regardless of circumstances The impact of FCA lies in its ability to spread God's Word, facilitate tough conversations, and remind athletes that they compete for Jesus, who gave everything for us Therefore, it is only fitting to give our best in return, both on and off the field

What excites you about your role with FCA?

I'm excited to be around the next generation of athletes as they grow up I want to share everything I've learned during my 9-year NFL career with them My goal is to provide guidance and let these kids know that I wasn't perfect, but when I trusted in God's plan for me, I thrived I want them to understand that they can too Next year, we’re aiming to launch our first FCA football clinic in the spring,

involving both former and current NFL players Additionally, I’m really excited about being involved in the FCA Football camp in Alaska Being there this year, I realized how little exposure and attention Alaska gets to football due to its location, and in the coming years I hope to be able to be a part of something that grows and creates more disciples of Jesus through the sport of football

Josh Andrews sharing with PNW FCA Football Camp in Anchorage, Alaska

How did you first get involved with FCA?

I first heard about FCA as a middle school student All I knew about it was that there was a Christian sports club meeting every Wednesday morning that had free donuts FCA was a constant through seventh grade, but it stopped during eighth grade because of COVID-19 I then rejoined FCA as a student-athlete leader late in my freshman year of high school and have been a student-leader ever since When I was introduced to FCA, I did not know much about it, but through the years it has helped me to grow closer to Christ and actually live out my faith This year I will be entering my fourth year as an FCA leader at Canby High School

How has FCA helped you grow in your faith?

When I joined FCA as a student leader, I was unaware of how much I did not know about discipleship and leadership. I entered with a false confidence that everything would be easy However, I soon realized that I had much to learn One of my biggest lessons I learned was that I have to [live with integrity] and be dependable When speaking and leading small groups at FCA I was good at vocalizing my faith and what it should look like through the Bible, but I lacked one of the most important pieces: living it out When I encouraged others about the peace that comes from relying on the Lord, I

Andrew Dewar

Student-Athlete Leader

Canby, Oregon

was actually living in stress When I told people to “deny themselves and take up their cross,” I was actually living out my fleshly desires When I spoke about “living for an audience of One,” I was actually living for the world. I felt tension between what I was saying to do, and the way I actually lived out my life As I began going to more FCA meetings and events, I started to realize that I had a very thin, lukewarm faith After a few summer camps with my church and other discipleship groups with Collin (the local FCA staff leader), I was led to the conclusion that I cannot lead others to a relationship with Christ if I am not living it out first The best way to lead, is to lead by example Although I have learned a lot, I am challenged daily to live out this lifestyle by being an FCA leader This skill is invaluable, and I will continue to use it for the rest of my life

What excites you about your role with FCA?

One of the most exciting parts of being with FCA is that we get to actively live out our role in the Great Commission as we make disciples on our own school campuses At our FCA Huddles, everyone is given the opportunity to hear the Word of God preached and then discuss it in small groups while eating pizza together

Last year, I led a small group that consisted of thirty freshman boys In the beginning of the year, we were at

about ten freshman boys, but as the year went on, more started showing up This was because their teammates and peers were inviting them I will admit that not all thirty of these boys have a relationship and understanding of God, but the seed has been planted During my freshman year, the whole FCA Huddle had no more than thirty people in it, but as we continue to rely on God to provide for all our needs, he has blessed us with a consistent one hundred students (the largest club in the school) On top of that, we have seen the hearts of many people turn to Christ and begin living it out in confidence in school and their sports John 4:35 says, “Listen to what I’m telling you: Open your eyes and look at the fields, because they are ready for harvest” The harvest is ripe and FCA is a tool that God uses within our schools and communities to spread the Gospel and lead hearts to Christ

How has FCA challenged you to use your influence in your sport?

I share my faith in sports by displaying Bible verses on my legs almost every time I enter a race I do this because I do not compete for my own glory, but to bring glory to God I have also learned that when I am bold in my faith, others are more willing to open up about it FCA has equipped me with the necessary tools to relate my sports to my faith and share that with my community

In a region as vast and challenging as the Pacific Northwest, reaching a significant milestone is no small feat This year, FCA celebrated the hiring of its 100th staff member in the region a monumental achievement that reflects both growth and the grace of God Ryan Johnston (RJ), Vice President of the Pacific Northwest Region, who was the 11th staff person hired back in 2011, shares his perspective on this journey of expansion and faith

RJ reflects on the early days of his time with FCA, noting that while the milestone of 100 staff members may seem to have come quickly to some, it didn’t always feel that way. "Early on, I had no context for how hard it is to do ministry in the Northwest and the challenge of finding the right people and putting them in the right spots " He acknowledges that God’s timing, although different than what he originally thought, has been perfect throughout the journey "There’s a pace that we needed to grow that was perfect for the team we have," he adds, highlighting the divine orchestration that has guided the growth of FCA ministry in the region

FOR: A Growth Strategy for Work, An Even Better Strategy for Life

A key factor in growing from 11 to 100 staff members has been the emphasis on honoring and valuing people RJ explains, "I've often said to our staff, 'What happens in you, is far more important than what happens through you ' This mindset has been crucial in our journey " RJ credits much of this philosophy to insights gained from Jeff Henderson’s book, FOR: A Growth Strategy for Work, An Even Better Strategy for Life, which emphasizes that people are the most important part of any organization "If you want your organization to grow, then you need to grow people," RJ emphasizes The focus on growing and developing people has become part of the DNA of FCA in the Pacific Northwest and has created a culture where staff feel valued, leading to longevity and dedication among team members.

Despite the success, the journey to 100 staff members has not been without its challenges The biggest obstacle, RJ notes, has been funding "We hire at the rate that funds are made available, and God's been super faithful, but it’s a grind " Alongside funding, finding individuals who feel called to ministry with athletic context and are willing to accept the challenges of vocational ministry has been another significant obstacle However, despite these challenges, God’s provision has been evident, and RJ attributes much of FCA's growth to the leading of the Holy Spirit and the dedication of those who share FCA's mission and values

One of RJ’s proudest achievements is the longevity of the leadership team He notes that many of the regional directors have been with FCA for five, six, or even seven years. "We believe that year three is the major mile marker," he says, explaining that if a staff member makes it to three years on staff, there’s a strong chance they’ll stay for the long haul. This focus on sustainability over speed has been key in providing stability and continuity in ministry efforts across the Pacific Northwest

FCA STAFF FEATURES

As we celebrate reaching the 100 staff milestone, we are excited to share a few staff stories with you from across the region.

Talia Milionis

Talia Milionis’ journey with FCA began in high school, where she occasionally attended Huddles However, it wasn’t until she discovered a job opportunity with FCA that she fully embraced the organization’s mission “The interview and training process opened my eyes to the incredible mission and vision of FCA,” she shares. “It had been a dream of mine to work for a nonprofit ministry. It's a blessing to be a part of this team!”

Talia’s passion for FCA’s mission is deeply connected to her faith and her love for sports. She believes everyone deserves to be pursued by Christ followers and sees FCA as a vital part of the next generation sharing with others about God’s unending love and grace. “My own faith grew greatly through parachurch organizations, and I’ve personally experienced the fruits of the mission

to make disciples who make disciples ” In her role as the Administrative Assistant for Greater Portland FCA, Talia supports 18 staff members, ensuring seamless communication and organization Her daily tasks range from scheduling the ministry year and organizing meetings to managing inquiries from parents, donors, and staff. She also plays a key role in coordinating FCA events, such as fundraisers, camps and leadership sessions. “No matter what, I know I am supporting an incredible team and an incredible ministry!”

Talia is excited about her second year with FCA and is looking forward to growing in her faith, leadership, and communication skills. Reflecting on her time with FCA, she recalls a highlight: witnessing 12 campers accept Jesus at the FCA Middle School Leadership Camp. “Doesn't get much better than that!”

Dan Castledine

Dan Castledine has been involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes since his youth, influenced by his father’s board involvement and his siblings’ participation in FCA camps Growing up in FCA environments, Dan developed a deep love for sports and ministry, eagerly awaiting the day he could actively contribute.

Now serving as the Canyon County Area Representative in Nampa, Idaho, Dan’s role revolves around building relationships with student-athletes through on-campus ministries like student Huddles. He focuses on discipling these young athletes, encouraging them to shine as lights for Christ in their schools. “It’s all about relationships,” Dan emphasizes. “I help students see their identity in God rather than in their athletic performance.”

In today’s culture, where young people face immense pressure to define themselves by their

abilities, Dan believes FCA is uniquely positioned to offer a different perspective “FCA frees them from the pressure to perform,” he explains “They can enjoy the game they love while knowing they are loved by God, regardless of their performance ”

Looking to the future, Dan is excited about the opportunity to disciple young men over several years, watching them grow in faith and life. The highlight of his time with FCA has been witnessing the transformation of young athletes as they deepen their relationship with Jesus. “It’s an honor to see God work in real-time through these young leaders,” Dan reflects.

Dan is an incredible example of the many FCA staff in our region who are committed to guiding young athletes toward a life rooted in their identity in Christ, helping them discover their true purpose and potential.

Colton Holdorf

Colton Holdorf was first connected FCA through a fellow FCA Staff member, Tony Overstake. As Colton and his wife sought direction for their next chapter, Tony introduced the idea of Colton joining FCA Outdoors. After much prayer, Colton felt called to take this step, aligning his passion for fly fishing with a greater purpose serving others and advancing the FCA mission

Colton’s role with FCA Outdoors allows him to combine his love for fly fishing with his commitment to sharing the Gospel As a guide, he uses the sport to pour into coaches, FCA staff, donors, and volunteers. For Colton, fishing is merely a tool to create intentional and restful experiences where individuals can encounter the Lord. Whether it's rowing a drift boat down a river, coaching

someone on how to catch fish, or having a meaningful conversation on the riverbank, Colton is dedicated to being attentive to the Holy Spirit's promptings, ensuring each moment is filled with purpose.

In today’s fast-paced culture, Colton sees FCA as a crucial ministry that meets people where they are, seamlessly integrating biblical concepts into everyday life. FCA’s approach of engaging with coaches and athletes in their natural environments allows for authentic relationships and impactful ministry. Colton is particularly excited about the growth he anticipates in his ministry. He envisions a ripple effect where healthy coaches and leaders, fueled by their encounters with Christ, positively influence their athletes, who then carry that impact into their communities

Pat Bailey

For Pat Bailey, FCA Multi-Area Director of the Willamette Valley in Oregon, a lifelong passion for sports and a deep love for Jesus Christ have been central to his work with FCA. Pat’s journey with FCA began in the late 1980s, working at the Oregon State overnight camp at Linfield College. He later started an FCA Huddle at West Linn High School in 1989 and continued his involvement by leading an FCA baseball Huddle at Oregon State University in 2008. Blending his personal passions with FCA’s mission, Pat finds great joy in sharing his faith with studentathletes. “I get to share my love for King Jesus with my passion for sports. I truly enjoy spending time with student-athletes,” he says.

As the Multi-Area Director, Pat’s role is multifaceted. He hires and trains staff for ministry in his area while also leading Huddles at Western Oregon University, Linn-Benton Community College, and West Albany High School

His work is driven by a commitment to spiritual leadership in a challenging cultural landscape. “There is a spiritual war going on in campuses today,” Pat explains. “We are called to be involved in this battle, teaching God’s absolute truth through scripture versus Satan’s lies that are being taught to our student-athletes.”

Reflecting on his time with FCA, Pat feels blessed by the organization’s support and the relationships he’s built. “My wonderful staff and the students I have ministered to over the past three and a half years are my personal highlight,” he says, giving all glory to the Lord for the ministry’s successes. Looking ahead, Pat is excited about expanding FCA’s influence in the Willamette Valley. “This is an opportunity to increase God’s territory and have a positive impact on student-athletes in the valley,” he shares, with Matthew 9:37-38 and I Chronicles 4:10 as guiding scriptures on his office whiteboard

As the landscape of youth sports evolves and access to public school campuses becomes increasingly restricted, FCA has strategically expanded its reach through FCA Sports This offcampus engagement strategy is designed to meet coaches and athletes wherever they are, offering catalytic discipleship and spiritual growth in diverse and highly competitive sporting environments

One shining example of FCA Sports’ impact can be found in Clark County, Washington, where Liz Bertsch, an FCA volleyball coach, has spearheaded a remarkable movement In 2021, Liz, a passionate volleyball coach from Clark County, felt a stirring in her spirit during a church service She had seen advertisements for FCA Volleyball in Idaho and, feeling prompted by the message that day, reached out to see if anything similar was happening in Portland When she found there wasn’t, she and her mother, also a volleyball coach, decided to take a leap of faith and start something new That decision has since transformed the sports landscape in their community

Starting modestly with an “academy” trial, Liz began by offering two-hour practices twice a week, focusing on regular coaching and training without the pressure of tournament play With two volleyball courts at their church in Vancouver, the original programming began It quickly became evident that there was a strong desire for this kind of environment What Liz initially expected to be a small group soon grew into three club teams, with over 48 students and six coaches, even having to make 12 cuts due to the overwhelming interest

The first club season was a resounding success, not just in terms of athletic growth but also in spiritual impact One player, who had to leave a tournament due to a heart condition, was deeply moved when her teammates prayed for her

This moment led her to explore her faith further, illustrating the profound influence that FCA Volleyball was having on these young athletes

Another player, who had struggled with her faith, found herself wanting to lead a prayer before a softball game but didn’t know how Through FCA, she learned the power of prayer and began to find her way back to God Stories like these are not isolated; they are becoming the norm within this growing community

Throughout the summer, Liz and her team held seven free open gyms, consistently drawing almost 40 kids each time. Additionally, 86 individuals signed up for volleyball clinics, with families expressing appreciation for the unique environment FCA Volleyball offers a stark contrast to other high-level camps where the focus can often be harsh and overly competitive At FCA Volleyball, the fast-paced, fun practices are infused with prayer and biblical truth, creating a culture that families deeply value

As the ministry continues to grow, Liz and her team are facing new challenges, including the need for more gym space and coaches who align with FCA’s discipleship model “Our heart is to have six teams this season,” Liz shares, “but the biggest barrier is gym space and finding coaches who love Jesus and are the right fit We’re playing to win, but we’re playing for something bigger than wins and losses ”

With a commitment to making competitive sports accessible and affordable, FCA Volleyball is not just building athletes; they are cultivating faith, community, and a legacy of sportsmanship that is unlike anything Clark County has seen before

While the Character Coaching program is still in its early stages, Jeff and Coach Watts are optimistic about its potential. “This is bigger than a basketball program,” Watts said. “We’re building men of character for life.”

Jeff believes that character coaching and FCA’s mission of leading every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ naturally complement each other While character coaching focuses on moral integrity, FCA Huddles provide the spiritual foundation Jeff hopes to see more overlap between these areas at Lakeridge in the

As for the upcoming year, Jeff is eager to see the results of their efforts. “I’ll feel good about this when the players start telling each other, ‘This is how we do it here,’” he said. For Jeff, it’s all about creating a culture where character leads the way, on and off the field.
