NUDE BATHING It is said that there are no words to describe sunbathing in the nude: it is something you have to experience for yourself. Any beach in the Canaries can be ideal for naturism. Listed below are a small sample of some of the most spectacular nudist beaches: Famara. This beach in the Lanzarote town of Teguise is nearly three kilometres long and you can go naked virtually anywhere without fear of being disturbed. Cofete, in Fuerteventura. Totally unspoilt and set in one of the island’s most impressive locations. Montaña Arena, in Gran Canaria. Its small size and discreet location make it ideal for those wishing to try naturism for the first time. Just 10 minutes from Maspalomas Beach. Las Conchas. An exotic sandy beach on La Graciosa, the biggest of the islets of the Chinijo archipelago, which is surrounded by turquoise waters. From here you can see the neighbouring islets of Montaña Clara, Alegranza, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste. La Gaviotas. One of Tenerife’s flagship nudism beaches. With its black sand and rocks, it is small and very peaceful. El Inglés, in La Gomera. Over 300 metres of fine black sand, sheltered by an impressive cliff. El Verodal in El Hierro. Situated in the town of Frontera and one of the best surfing locations on the island. Los Tarajales in La Palma. This is the island’s only nudist beach and it is situated behind the harbour in Tazacorte, where the Tenisca ravine joins the sea.
