IT’S THURSDAY, and we continue talking about serious issues, that have their origin in the high temperatures of recent weeks, which of course, are the result of the negligence with which we have treated our planet. At this point in life, there are still those who doubt the effects of global warming, although to be honest I don’t understand how or why, someone could doubt when natural disasters are increasing worldwide. San Luis Potosí is not the exception, much we have spoken these days of the large number of forest fires that have occurred in the state, but this is not the only serious problem that we face these days, because the drought also hits severely to some municipalities of SLP. Virtually all areas of the state suffer from the lack of rain, and those expected for this month are expected to be just 25.3 millimeters, when the historical average is 30 millimeters, and although the difference seems minimal, this is a problem that will drag until the month of May, when

an average of 42 millimeters is expected, an amount well below the average that is 60 millimeters. FORECASTS CONTINUE TO GO FROM BAD TO WORSE, BECAUSE BY JUNE, THE DROUGHT WILL BE TRULY SERIOUS, ONLY 69 MILLIMETERS OF RAINFALL IS EXPECTED, A FIGURE THAT IS ONLY A LITTLE MORE THAN HALF OF THE AVERAGE FOR THIS MONTH, WHICH IS OF 112 MILLIMETERS. The dams are not yet empty, but in previous years these were at their

maximum capacity, a situation that generates concern both among the authorities and among the public, as temperatures will not decrease in the coming months, but rather will be Expect them to increase as summer arrives. ALL THIS IS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE PRESENCE OF EL NIÑO, WHICH HAS CAUSED HIGH TEMPERATURES AND A RATHER DRY ATMOSPHERE IN THE STATE. EXPERTS FROM THE NATIONAL OFFICE OF OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION, WARNED THAT THE PHENOMENON WAS FORMED THIS MONTH IN THE CENTRAL PACIFIC AND COULD LAST THREE TO FOUR MONTHS BEFORE BEING DEACTIVATED. This phenomenon strongly affects the climate in different parts of the world, as ocean warming interacts with the atmosphere, affecting the behavior of climatic patterns and causing floods in some places and droughts in others. This panorama that looks quite devastating has led the Ecology and Environment Commission to call

on the State Government to request the Federal Government to declare an emergency in San Luis Potosí in the face of the ravages caused by the drought, such as the loss of crops and the death of livestock. OF THE MUNICIPALITIES OF SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, SIX ARE ALREADY IN SERIOUS SITUATION DUE TO THE LACK OF RAIN, SO THEY ASK THAT THEY BEGIN TO GENERATE SUPPORT FOR THE FARMERS OF THE FIELD BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. For the loss of crops, the lack of water for livestock consumption and the increase in prices due to the decrease in agricultural production can impact San Luis Potosí in an extremely negative way. Municipalities of the Huasteca area, which is characterized by its large amount of rainfall, are already being affected by the drought, which leads to wonder, what will happen to the rest of the state? We hope that soon measures can be found to help our state to resist this difficult situation. Can you think of any way to support? Tell me through social media.
