Deepika Padukone First up, we have the reigning queen of Bollywood who came in an all black ensemble by Alberta Ferretti.

The outfit had a tuxedo-like jacket on top and opened into a multi-layered floor sweeping tulle skirt, which made for the perfect combination. Her dangling diamond earrings added just the right amount of bling to her look. The Padmaavat actress opted for smokey eyes and an unkempt chic bun and a nude lip which completed her look perfectly. We absolutely loved the classiness of this look.

Alia Bhatt It was a big night for Alia Bhatt who took home the black lady for her film Raazi. For the ceremony, she donned a black beaded gown from Ralph and Russo’s 2018 fall collection. She looked stunning in the exquisite outfit that came with a nude corset bodice and opened up into a multi layered skirt with starry silver embroidery on it. She completed her look with metallic smokey eyes, an unkempt bun and nude lips. A fitting outfit for the occasion, we think.

Katrina Kaif Katrina Kaif was also present at the awards show. She came dressed in a powder-blue gown which with silver embroidery and embellishments by designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock. It also had a plunging neck-

Katrina looked elegant in this look that she styled with silver dangling diamond earrings. She kept her makeup simple as always with a filled-in brows, a fresh face, glossy lips and her hair styled in soft curls.

Sonam Kapoor For the awards show, Veere Di Wedding star Sonam Kapoor came in a hot pink mermaid style strapless gown from Ralph and Russo’s 2019 Spring collection. The gown had exaggerated and dramatic sleeves attached to it which we thought did not work at all, though we loved the rest of the outfit. She completed this look with centre parted hair that was pulled back into a sleek bun, eyeshadow that matched her outfit and a nude lip.

Kriti Sanon Lukka Chuppi actress Kriti Sanon came dressed a dazzling purple gown with a plunging neckline by Zara Umrigar for the event. The actress opted to not accessorise her look but completed it with metallic gold strappy stilettos. Her outfit was perfect for the occasion we thought, and make up too was on point with centre-parted half up hair, filled in brows, violet eyeshadow and a glossy nude lip.

Sara Ali Khan Simmba actess Sara Ali Khan came in an ethnic ensemble by designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. While the actress looked pretty with her hair in loose waves while she sported the signature gold and white lehenga choli.

Janhvi Kapoor Janhvi Kapoor came in a dusted gold outfit with off shoulders and a thigh high slit. Strapy nude stilettos were her accessory of choice for this look.

Kim Kardashian has been accused of cultural appropriation after the reality TV star donned a traditional Indian maang tikka head piece for a church service.

The 38-year-old mother-of-three shared her outfit on social media with the caption 'Sunday Service Vibe', but some Instagram users were unimpressed with her apparent mishmash of cultural items.

Kim, who boasts 133 million followers on Instagram, accessorized her flowing white dress with gold Indian-inspired Jewellery, including the head piece typically worn at times of celebration.

The photo made a stir when it was shared amassing almost 2 million likes within a day. One user said that 'culture is not a

costume' and that it was wrong for the media mogul to be wearing the ornament.

'This is not a Sunday Service Vibe, it's an Indian vibe,' another complained.

'Who is your stylist?!!' another user moaned. Someone else explained the cultural significance of the head piece and wrote in depth about how Kim had appropriated her culture. 'For those of you who don't know, the maang tikka is a ceremonial head piece traditionally worn by the bride. Wearing white in India is traditionally reserved for funerals,' another explained.

On top of that she wore this to a Christian service. She probably thought it was just jewelry, but when that piece

has literally been used for centuries wouldn't you kinda think there must be some sort of significant meaning held towards it?'

Not everyone was offended, however. One user said she didn't feel the fashion choice was quite so offensive. 'As an Indian woman I think Kim K looks GREAT and frankly don't care what she wears. We all get influenced by each other's culture, ethnicities‌ we should be honored that such a stylish woman appreciates our culture instead.'

Pope kisses feet of South Sudan leaders, urging them to keep the peace Pope Francis, in a dramatic gesture after an unprecedented retreat at the Vatican, knelt to kiss the feet of South Sudan’s previously warring leaders on 11 April as he urged them to not return to a civil war.

He appealed to President Salva Kiir, his former deputy turned rebel leader Riek Machar, and three other vice presidents to respect an armistice they signed and commit to forming a unity government next month. “I am asking you as a brother to stay in peace. I am asking you with my heart, let us go forward.

Delhi High Court Wants PewDiePie's Songs Taken Down From YouTube The Delhi High Court has asked YouTube to remove from its platform two songs posted by Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie. Justice Jayant Nath in an interim order on April 8 said the order should be complied with within two weeks. "In my opinion, it would be in the interest of justice that these videos are taken off by YouTube", Justice Nath said.

The court also directed YouTube to ensure that the songs do not get uploaded again on its platform. A notice was issued to PewDiePie on the suit filed by T-Series owner Super Cassettes Pvt Ltd. The court

An extravaganza it was, indeed! What began as a casual interaction and sharing of ideas between creative people soon turned into mind-boggling insights from artists across the creative fabric. At 52 Janpath on 3rd of April. The energy in the room was a delight to watch as it was the screening of web series ‘That Good Ugly Day’ by Ajay Rajpal who is a popular face among the who’s who of Delhi. The audience connected with the theme of issues towards modern arena of parenting. Ajay further revealed about his future project on ‘LGBT’. He believes that as a society, we need creativity to harp on issues that normally are a taboo in society, through the lens. One thing led to another and creativity found its outlet in the exhibition of paintings by Sid B, an exceptional curator who brings life to art in his own style. Sid B dished the inspiration behind his latest collection and displayed different Genres this time by five different artist Dipti Kasliwal, Divya Kohli, Varsha Kothari, Devika Bahri & Shivali Gupta.

The party witnessed prominent faces from all walks of life. From social media bloggers, influencers, diplomats to civil society, everyone seemed to relish the amazing fusion of art, creativity, and vision. While the party had some foot-tapping numbers, thanks to the eclectic taste of the DJ, what made it extremely chic was the trickling of fine wine and lip-smacking delights. After Mulk, Taapsee Pannu reunites with Anubhav Sinha for another sociopolitical drama?

After their successful big screen outing in last year's Mulk, Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu and filmmaker Anubhav Sinha have reunited for another. Titled Thappad, the film is reportedly a sociopolitical drama, inspired by true-life incidents. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the film is set to go on floors in the month of August and will be shot in Delhi. Quoting a source close to the film's development, the report states that Taapsee's casting was finalised while they were shooting Mulk.

The actor, who is currently shooting for Anurag Kashyap's Saand Ki Aankh, will play a middle-class girl in the femaleoriented film. The source has been quoted as saying, “Anubhav had decided on casting her while they were still shooting Mulk. It’s a female-oriented subject that defies narratives typecasting women. It questions the society and will deliver a poignant message on world domination by women.

Since 2013, 38-year-old Jenifar, an engineering graduate who hails from Thiruvananthapuram, says he has nurtured the idea of joining politics.

Though he spent years working in the corporate sector, he ultimately left that career behind to pursue a different path. “I took a break in my career and worked low-profile jobs with less salary. This included working as a traffic police warden in Kerala Police for a few months in 2015,� he says.

He also worked as a deputy manager for a private company in 2016. “Since November, I have been working as a cab driver to travel across Bengaluru.

‘Namo Foods’ Packets Spark Row in Noida, Cops Say Not From BJP Some security personnel on election duty in Noida were served meals in packets labelled ‘Namo Foods’, triggering criticism from the Opposition even after the local police said the packs only displayed the name of a food shop.

The Bahujan Samaj Party said it has complained to the Election Commission.‘ NaMo’ is widely-recognised as the initials of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, previously seen on BJP merchandise and recently as the name of a TV channel.

The packets were brought in the boot of a hatchback and distributed among police personnel in Noida's sector 15A around 9:30 am, while polling was on in the Gautam Buddh Nagar constituency under which the Delhi suburb falls. Union minister Mahesh Sharma is the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate seeking re-election there.

The packets, coloured in a shade of saffron, had ‘Namo Foods’ emblazoned on top in Hindi. They soon started generating a buzz among curious onlookers. When contacted in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer L Venkateshwarlu said he has

already spoken with the district magistrate on the issue. “It is nothing related to the prime minister as the name of the company itself is Namo," he told PTI. But the Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav blamed the BJP. "Voters are turning out in large numbers to vote for #MahaParivartan which perhaps explains this desperate move. Clearly, the only thing the BJP knows how to do is branding and marketing," he said, quoting a retweet. "We have already taken it up both at the state level and with the Election Commission," its national general secretary SC Misra said. Misra also forwarded photographs of the food packets through social media to substantiate his claim.

Earlier, Guatam Buddh Nagar's senior superintendent of police Vaibhav Krishna issued a statement, saying the packets had nothing to do with any political party. “Misinformation is being spread that some policemen have been distributed food from a political party,� he said. “This is absolutely wrong. At the local level, some food packets were procured from Namo Food Shop and not from any political party," he said. "Some people are spreading wrong and politically motivated rumours.

So I used to answer to the public based on the questions they ask and I used to explain my solutions,� he says. The prominent candidates in the constituency include incumbent MP PC Mohan of the BJP, CongressJD(S) alliance candidate Rizwan Arshad and popular multilingual actor Prakash Raj who is contesting as an independent. Despite his limited reach, Jenifar says, “It’s a four-way fight between PC Mohan, Prakash Raj, Rizwan Arshad and me. I believe in god and anything can happen.�

Merit in Claims

The Election Commission on Thursday, 11 April, said it found no merit in the complaints by a number of voters in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar that the indelible ink put on their fingers came off soon after it was applied.

The Election Commission officials said they received a complaint from booth number 190, but found no merit in the complaint. A few people had complained that they were able to remove the ink with chemicals like nail-paint remover and others said they were able to wipe it off. Deputy Election Commissioner Chandra Bhushan said a report was sought from the polling officer and it was found that the phial of ink procured from Mysore paints and Varnish Limited was certified by a

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research lab, as is the procedure. “The shelf life of this ink is six months and all the phials are tested by the CSIR and national physical laboratory. In this case too, these ink phials were certified; reports from the sector and zonal magistrates and the micro observers also said the ink was in order.� said Chandra Bhushan, Deputy Election Commissioner One of the reasons for the ink to come off, Bhushan said, could be that the voters may have applied oil or cream on their hands. This in turn could have led to the ink coming off.

However, Returning Officer of the 13-GB Nagar Lok Sabha constituency told ANI that arrangements are being made to send the indelible ink to lab for further probe.

Rahul Gandhi ‘Security Breach’: Cong Denies Writing to MHA Hours after reportedly claiming a “green laserâ€?, that could potentially have been from a “sniper rifleâ€?, was pointed at Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi’s head multiple times during his visit to Amethi on Wednesday, 10 April, party sources have now denied writing any letter to the home minister. incident as proof. In the video, Gandhi can be seen interacting with media personnel while the mysterious green dot appears on his forehead repeatedly. Seeking a probe into the incident, the letter had earlier said that this is a cause of serious alarm, citing the assassinations of Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother and father – still etched in public memory. In the letter, the Congress leaders also hit out at the UP government for a lapse in security.

The MHA, meanwhile, denied ever receiving any letter regarding the alleged breach.
