Alternative Gift Market | 2020 PINNACLE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH Throughout the COVID pandemic many of us and our families and friends have cleaned out and organized closets and cabinets, feeling happy with our de-cluttered results. So this Christmas, rather than starting to re-stock and re-clutter with traditionally purchased gifts for family and friends, would you like to help out those who have suffered so much during this time? Through Pinnacle’s Alternative Gift Market you can purchase gifts of love to help feed the hungry, provide education to students in need, assist seniors, show care and love and more. Gifts can be purchased until December 13 and come with a card for you to pass on to your family and friends. Along with these gifts we will be selling Christmas ornaments from Haiti and embroidered face masks from Dar al-Kalima in Bethlehem (not available online).

Instructions: Browse the gift catalog, either online or a paper copy, and complete the order form indicating desired gifts and amounts. Then there are three ways to complete your purchase: • Come to the Market after church on November 15 and pay with a credit card or check • Send your order form and check to the church office • Place your order online with your donation there

Alternative Gift Market | 2020 CARING FOR THE HOMELESS ANDRE HOUSE is a ministry to the homeless and poor populations of greater Phoenix. Volunteers help prepare and serve meals through the soup kitchen. Andre House also provides modest housing, free clothing, laundry service, showers and more to those in need. MISSION OF MERCY provides free medical care from six Valley clinics to our most vulnerable – the uninsured, underinsured, and those who “fall through the cracks” of our healthcare system. Alternative Gift Market | 2020 CARING FOR THE HOMELESS OPEN TABLE uses a team approach with regular meetings to work with homeless individuals and families. The process includes the family and a team of 8 – 12 congregation members working together to provide guidance and support for the displaced family. UMOM is the largest homeless shelter for families in Arizona. Its mission is to provide homeless families and individuals with safe shelter, housing and supportive services to assist them in reaching their greatest potential. Alternative Gift Market | 2020 CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY FIRST LIGHT FELLOWSHIP is a New Worshiping Community of the PC(USA) that recently took ownership of a building to serve and bless Anthem. They plan to host after-school service and faith programs for children, cooking classes for the community, and support groups for families, striving to be Church in the midst of community. FOOTHILLS CARING CORPS & DUET provide medical transportation trips, rides to the grocery, van trips to social events, meal delivery and in-home services to older adults and individuals with a disabling condition. Servicing Phoenix and the Foothills area, trained volunteers provide services at no cost to those needing assistance. Each year PPC volunteers help build these homes and PPC provides financial assistance. No construction experience or tools are required. PPC EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUND is a program for non-members who apply to the church for assistance in a distress situation, most commonly for help with food, rent or utilities. Approved payments are made directly to service providers or with gas or grocery cards. They seek to educate creative leaders to contribute to the intellectual and cultural life in Palestine. FRONTERA DE CRISTO is a Presbyterian border ministry located in the sister cities of Douglas, AZ and Agua Prieta, Sonora. In addition to developing and supporting the Café Justo coffee cooperatives they have a community center, migrant resource center, provide family and health services, and are developing new churches. Under Pastor Luc Deratus’s leadership they provide spiritual leadership, Christian education, counseling, medical services to the poor as well as food and emergency assistance.

HARMONY MINISTRIES SCHOOLS offer pre-K through 6th grade education to children who otherwise could not afford to go to school.

Embroidered Face Masks from Dar al-Kalima - $15 (Black or White Available) Dar al-Kalima University College of Arts & Culture (DAK) focuses on cultural heritage and tourism studies, making educational opportunities available to students from all sectors of Palestinian society. DAK has programs including visual and performing arts, and students raise funds from sale of artwork and items like the embroidered masks being offered.

Haitian Christmas Ornaments from Papillon - $10 (Several Choices Available) Orphan prevention through job creation. Papillon is providing hope to Haitian artisans with the dignity of a job, training, and the ability to create something new out of something discarded and seemingly unusable. The organization was started to help provide a living wage to women so that they can afford to keep their children at home and they don’t end up at an orphanage.
