Make your own Electricity. At Pinergy Solar Electric, we will advise and help you on your journey to a more sustainable energy future.

Our Experience We were one of the first Solar PV designers and installers in Ireland. We are a leader in the market and so far, we have installed over 30,000 panels across Ireland on all types of buildings across Homes, Businesses and Farms.

Designed for you and your home We design a Solar PV installation that is unique as your needs are. We can also design solutions that include Batteries to reduce any waste; divert energy to heat your hot water or charge your Electric Vehicle and an App to show you when you are generating your solar energy.

Sell your excess electricity As part of Energy supplier Pinergy, we can discuss with you ways of selling any excess electricity that you generate to Pinergy.

Minimising disruption We plan and design every Solar PV installation. This means, our team of qualified electricians and roofers will install your Solar PV with minimal disruption and to SEAI standards.

What is Solar PV and how does it work?

“The quality of materials selected, the staff and the technical support offered throughout the project exceeded all expectations.” Servier Ireland Industries Ltd.

1. Light & Solar PV panels

1

The sun gives off light, even on cloudy days. PV cells on the panels turn the light into DC electricity.

2. The inverter The current flows into an inverter, which converts it to AC electricity ready for use.

3. The electricity The current is fed into your home’s consumer unit.

4. Powering the home Plug in and switch on. Your home will automatically use the free electricity generated, then switch back to the grid as needed.

5. The diverter unit Surplus electricity is automatically diverted to your hot water tank.

6. Energy storage (optional) When required we provide a state of the art power storage unit that enables you to store solar power for use when you need it.

7. Electric vehicle charging You can help charge your electric car with the addition of car charging solutions powered by your PV Panels.

“As a driver of an electric car, Pinergy Solar Electric also installed a car charge point. I’m able to send the charge generated from the panels directly to the car battery, which is an additional benefit.”

“Pinergy Solar Electric installed seven solar panels on our house in March 2020, and we couldn’t have been happier with the efficient and knowledgeable customer service and support. The entire installation was done exactly as planned, with minimal disruption. For us, it was important to have a company that were trustworthy, and that would arrive on-site when they said they would. In fact they drove in the gate at two minutes before 8am, as planned! The timing of the installation was fortunate, as we have been working from home since then due to the pandemic. This has meant that while we have been using additional electricity during this time, we were able to maximise use of the electricity generated by the panels. We have been able to arrange our use of appliances such as washing machines and the dishwasher during daytime periods to align with generation. The system itself is set up to first direct electricity to any in-house use. Any excess is then directed to the old existing immersion, to heat water. Monitoring of the system is possible through the visual display, which is located in our utility room. As a driver of an electric car, Pinergy Solar Electric also installed a car charge point. I’m able to send the charge generated from the panels directly to the car battery, which is an additional benefit.” Energy with insight.

Invest in a system that cuts your electricity costs and pays for itself in a few years. Enjoy free electricity for the remaining lifetime of the system.

Finance

System design

An investment in Solar PV outperforms bank rates and avoids tax on savings. The SEAI grant for Solar PV is available for homes built and occupied before 2021. An improved BER rating will add to the value of your home. Battery storage will help reduce energy waste.

The key to designing the optimum Solar PV system is to maximise solar independence. A well designed system will minimise spill to the Grid on high production days of May and June.

Proven in Ireland

Living with Solar PV

We have hundreds of satisfied customers across Ireland. The installation of Solar PV is now a part of Government Strategy and is being rolled out across public buildings nationwide. The technology is recognised to be effective and have very low maintenance costs which is why it is being installed in all new schools.

Our existing Solar Pioneers typically modify their behaviour a little to maximise the effectiveness of their Solar PV system. For instance they may run the washing machine in the day time followed by the dishwasher using a delay function.

“The sonnen battery storage system ensures we use nearly all of the available free electricity from the sun at the time of day to suit ourselves.”

“Our Solar PV system is working well and produces a variable amount of electricity according to the hours of sunshine, in the Winter months about 25% of what we consume and in the summer 80% plus. It’s a big house and we use a lot of electricity, particularly for heat pump central heating, so we are pleased with the reduction in our electricity bills. The installation process went well and we found that everyone at Solar Electric were very helpful with some minor initial problems. The panels take up a bit of space in the back yard but it’s handy having the panels on the ground in case we want to clean them and also where we live is very exposed to the wind so we thought that would be a more sheltered site than the roof, which in any case doesn’t have any south facing parts. I am very pleased with the installation, as I feel our house is a lot more environmentally friendly and we can look forward to permanent reductions in our electricity bills, so a good investment as one approaches retirement, especially when the same money in a deposit account in the bank would earn practically nothing.”
