PCC continues to offer the Medical Coding Certificate in two semesters. Earn your Medical Coding Certificate in two semesters and enter into one of the fastest growing healthcare fields. PCC offers students the opportunity to become an integral part of this exciting and expanding field. The first semester of the medical coding certificate will be offered on the Person County Campus this fall.

BioTech/Lab Tech

Biotechnology is a fascinating field which is at the cutting edge of science using living cells and materials produced by cells to create pharmaceutical, diagnostic, environmental and other products to benefit society. Piedmont Community College (PCC) offers an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, diploma and certificate in Biotechnology and an A. A. S. degree, diploma and certificate in Laboratory Technology. The Biotechnology curriculum is designed to meet the increasing demands for skilled laboratory technicians in various fields of biological and chemical technology. Graduates may find employment in various areas of industry and government, including research and development, manufacturing, sales, and customer service. PCC’s Laboratory Technology program prepares individuals for entry-level positions in a wide range of industries that perform laboratory testing of chemical, biological, and physical agents. Graduates qualify for employment opportunities in research, food processing, environmental monitoring, chemical production, and textile, agricultural, and pharmaceutical industries.
