PICPA RIZAL CHAPTER OFFICERS

The PICPA Rizal Chapter presents the following directors and officers for FY 20222023 led by Chapter President Ms. Rosemarie Gatlabayan.

MS. ROSEMARIE C. GATLABAYAN CHAPTER PRESIDENT

On November 23-26, 2022, the 77th PICPA Annual National Convention was held at Cebu City. The convention was conducted also through Zoom platform. The convention was attended by officers and members of the PICPA Rizal Chapter.

ADOPT-A-CHAPTER

On December 3, 2022, the PICPA Rizal Chapter has organized a Adopt-a-Chapter program wherein the proceeds are given to the adopted chapter. The chosen adopted chapter were PICPA Occidental Mindoro Chapter and PICPA Romblon Chapter.

It was done through conducting a two-part webinar entitled Sustainable Reporting for Business with resource speaker Dr. Rufo R. Mendoza. Some officers of the adopted chapter also participated by being the moderator of the webinar.

ALAGANG PICPA RIZAL PROGRAM FOR SENIOR MEMBERS

On November 13 and December 18, PICPA Rizal launched its program for inactive Senior Citizen PICPA Rizal Chapter members.

The purpose of the program is to give warmth and care to fellow colleagues who contributed to the profession of accountancy through their work and passion.

The officers and members of the Chapter headed by Ms. Rosemarie Gatlabayan, Chapter President, visited the house of some of the Senior Citizen PICPA Rizal Chapter members.

PICPA RIZAL CHAPTER AWARDS

On November 25, 2022, during the PICPA Annual National Convention, the PICPA Rizal Chapter garnered five (5) awards and these are the following:

UNDERSTANDING THE TAX INTRICACIES OF ONE-TIME TRANSACTION (ONETT)

PICPA Rizal Chapter for the fiscal year 2022-2023 conducted its sixth webinar during this pandemic. The webinar entitled “Understanding the Tax Intricacies of One-Time Transaction (ONETT)” was conducted with Resource Speaker, Dr. Enrique C. Pinos via Zoom platform. This was attended by 43 participants. The PICPA Rizal Chapter collaborated with PICPA Southern Tagalog Region to conduct its 2nd regional conference for FY 2022-2023. The webinar was competently handled by Ms. Dineth S. Larsen, Chapter Director for Commerce and Industry, as the Moderator.

POINTERS ON LOCAL AND REAL PROPERTY TAXATION

PICPA Rizal Chapter for the fiscal year 2022-2023 conducted its seventh webinar during this pandemic. The webinar entitled “Pointers on Local and Real Property Taxation” was conducted with Resource Speaker, Atty. Edward G. Gialogo via Zoom platform. This was attended by 43 participants. The PICPA Rizal Chapter collaborated with PICPA Southern Tagalog Region to conduct its 2nd regional conference for FY 2022-2023. The webinar was competently handled by Ms. Diana Ross Nono, Chapter Secretary, as the Moderator.

PEZA TAXATION UPDATES

PICPA Rizal Chapter for the fiscal year 2022-2023 conducted its eight webinar during this pandemic. The webinar entitled “PEZA Taxation Updates” was conducted with Resource Speaker, Mr. Richard R. Ibarra via Zoom platform. This was attended by __ participants. The PICPA Rizal Chapter collaborated with PICPA Southern Tagalog Region to conduct its 2nd regional conference for FY 2022-2023. The webinar was competently handled by Ms. Diana Ross Nono, Chapter Secretary, as the Moderator.

TAXATION OF EMPLOYEE BENEFITS: CONCEPTS AND ISSUES

PICPA Rizal Chapter for the fiscal year 2022-2023 conducted its ninth webinar during this pandemic. The webinar entitled “Taxation of Employee Benefits: Concepts and Issues” was conducted with Resource Speaker, Ms. Maricris U. See via Zoom platform. This was attended by participants. The PICPA Rizal Chapter collaborated with PICPA Southern Tagalog Region to conduct its 2nd regional conference for FY 2022-2023. The webinar was competently handled by Ms. Yolanda J. Narvasa, Chapter Auditor, as the Moderator.

QUALITY ASSURANCE REVIEW (QAR)

READINESS

PICPA Rizal Chapter for the fiscal year 2022-2023 conducted its tenth webinar during this pandemic. The webinar entitled “Quality Assurance Review (QAR) Readiness” was conducted with Resource Speaker, Mr. Wilfredo A. Baltazar via Zoom platform. This was attended by 80 participants. The seminar was competently handled by Mr. Alessandro Rey Formoso, Chapter Director for Public Practice, as the Moderator.

SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING FOR BUSINESS PART 1

PICPA Rizal Chapter for the fiscal year 2022-2023 conducted its eleventh webinar during this pandemic. The webinar entitled “Sustainability Reporting for Business Part 1” was conducted with Resource Speaker, Dr. Rufo R. Mendoza via Zoom platform. This was attended by 33 participants. The seminar was competently handled by Ms. Donabelle S. Medina, PICPA Occidental Mindoro Chapter Assistant Treasurer, as the Moderator.

SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING FOR BUSINESS PART 2

PICPA Rizal Chapter for the fiscal year 2022-2023 conducted its twelfth webinar during this pandemic. The webinar entitled “Sustainability Reporting for Business Part 2” was conducted with Resource Speaker, Dr. Rufo R. Mendoza via Zoom platform. This was attended by 31 participants. The seminar was competently handled by Mr. Arnold Benedict B. Forlales, PICPA Romblon Chapter VP for Membership, as the Moderator.

LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAM: PUBLIC SPEAKING WORKSHOP

PICPA Rizal Chapter for the fiscal year 2022-2023 conducted its third seminar during this pandemic. The seminar entitled “Lifelong Learning Program: Public Speaking Workshop” was conducted with Resource Speaker, Mr. Howell V. Mabalot at Ynares Event Center Antipolo City. This was attended by 27 participants. The seminar was competently handled by Ms. Dineth S. Larsen, Chapter Director for Commerce and Industry, as the Moderator.

TAXATION MADE EASY

AND UPDATES

PICPA Rizal Chapter for the fiscal year 2022-2023 conducted its thirteenth webinar during this pandemic.

The webinar entitled “PICPA 2nd General Membership Meeting “Taxation Made Easy and Updates”” was conducted with Resource Speaker, Dr. Enrique C. Pinos via Zoom platform. This was attended by 249 participants. The seminar was competently handled by Ms. Barbara O. Pinos, Chapter VP for Professional Development, as the Moderator.

COURTESY CALLS

On December 14 and 18, 2022, the PICPA Rizal Chapter officers paid courtesy calls to various government offices in Rizal. The first one is to Office of the Mayor of Antipolo Rizal where the participants had a dialog with Mayor Jun Ynares. The officers also paid a visit to the Office of City Cooperative and Livelihood Office and Commission on Audit in Rizal.
