This summer we will have plenty of opportunities for you to participate with us – through day camp, pickleball, softball, youth sports, art classes, and anything else you’re looking for. - Pewaukee Joint Parks & Recreation Board Overseeing the operation of the department is a joint Parks and Recreation Board. This advisory board consists of three city citizens and one City Common Council alderman, as well as two village citizens and one Village Board Trustee. All of these positions are obtained through appointment by either the City Mayor or the Village President. This board typically meets on the second Wednesday of each month, and is responsible for overseeing the annual budget, policies, and hiring of full-time staff. Family Balance: Every program we offer features reasonable time commitments that allow kids to be kids, explore other interests, make time for free play, and enjoy a well-rounded life. Our programs have reasonable financial commitments and a season length that allows a child to pursue other interests and other activities. Lifelong Enjoyment: We want your child’s youth sports experience to be so positive and so encouraging, that he/she will want to stay engaged in the sport/activity for life, regardless of whether they pursue it competitively or not. Our goal is to instill a love for sports and all the benefits they can bring!

Ages 3-6 years This instructional program will teach children the fundamentals of throwing, catching, batting and defense through child appropriate drills and game situations. The program will include skills, drills and scrimmages. Participants should bring their own glove.

First Sport Baseball
Ages 4-7 years Our First Sport Baseball program is designed as an introductory program where kids learn baseball basics in a fun and supportive environment. Children first start with two sessions of skill building through practice stations that start preparing them for game play. Each week after will include one day of instruction and skill development and one day of games. The final day will include an awards ceremony and ice cream treats! Participants should bring their own glove. Rubber cleats or tennis shoes with grip are recommended. You’ve seen American Ninja Warrior on television, now learn the skills it takes on real ninja obstacles! This fun camp will be led by an experienced personal trainer and will include exercise, strength and movement skills, balance, learning and fun! Obstacles similar to those on the show will challenge kids both physically and mentally. Friday’s class will feature the final competition and family and friends are invited to attend. Grades 3-8 Dream League is coming to Pewaukee! This unique player driven league is presented by the National Basketball Academy of Milwaukee. Players will be drafted onto teams and develop over the week. Teams will be assigned a General Manager to help with guidance, motivation and substitutions. Ages 4-12 years This class develops youths’ basic ice skating skills. Youth will develop confidence on the ice by learning forward and backward skating, turns and stops, and falling and recovery. This is a cooperative program with the Waukesha County Parks System and local communities. It is suggested that young children bring helmets (bike or other helmet is fine) to the class. Henna Art Workshop
Ages 9+ years Join us to learn the latest craze of Henna Tattoos. During this workshop you will learn how to hold a Henna cone, you will practice elementary designs on paper and progress to Henna design on your hands, arm or feet. Develop your child’s intellect through the royal game of Chess! This daily camp is perfect for beginners as well as experienced players. Each day of camp will consist of a fun interactive teaching period, followed by guided practice time, allowing the students to play against one another while being coached by an experienced instructor. Children will have the opportunity to test for a Chess Belt using the unique Chess Scholars system, patterned after martial arts belts. The camp session will conclude with a non-elimination tournament, and prizes will be awarded to every participant. ‘Spirit Riding Free’ Ages 4-6 years Boys & girls, no need to bring a horse to this dance camp! We will be galloping and dancing to the classic movie soundtrack, Spirit. Kids will explore many dance concepts and forms and will also make crafts and costume pieces. A special performance will be held for families at the end of the last day of camp. Enjoy the Lake Badges ‘N Buddies Fishing Program Ages 7+ years
With help from volunteers and sponsors, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department will organize days throughout the summer on Pewaukee Lake for kids to fish and learn about the preservation of our natural resources. Pontoon boats will leave the City’s Public Boat Launch on Woodland Drive for two hours of catch and release fishing. The boat will include 8 kids, two deputies and 2-3 volunteers. The bait, equipment and a shore lunch is included. If you register for the morning session, lunch will be after fishing at 11:00 am. If you register for the afternoon session, you will have lunch prior to fishing. Space is limited so register early! * E ach participant may only register for ONE day/time. Learn how to sail in just a few short weeks! Join the Pewaukee Lake Sailing School for their summer program featuring exciting class options for the whole family. Beginner Optimist
Monday-Thursday (2 week sessions) 9:00 am-12:00 pm OR 1:00-4:00 pm Session I : June 14-June 24 Session II: June 28-July 8 Session III: July 12-July 22 Session IV: July 26-August 5 $230/Session or $745 Full Summer The Beginner Optimist program is an introductory sailing class for children ages 7-12. During this class, your sailor will learn the basic skills needed to be a successful sailor—how to be safe and comfortable around the water, how to be properly prepared for sailing each day, how to rig, de-rig, and care for their boats and equipment, along with gaining a new set of on-the-water skills each day. Sailors do not need to own a boat to participate in this class.
Teen Sailing
Monday- Thursday (4 week sessions) 1:00-4:00 pm Session I: June 14-July 8 Session II: July 12-August 5 $440/session or $770 Full Summer The Teen Sailing class is designed for youth aged 12-18 who are interested in learning to sail in a fun, social environment. The Club 420 is a double-handed sailboat (2 people) which allows sailors to work closely with their teammate while on the water. This class teaches basic seamanship skills like personal safety, knot tying, and rigging the boat as well as introductory sailing skills like skippering and crewing as a team, reading the wind, and the points of sail. Boats are provided for this class and equipment use is included in the course fee.
Kinderprams
Fridays ONLY 9 am-12 pm, June 18-August 6 $275 Kinderprams is an introductory program designed for children ages 5-6. Your sailor will learn to be safe and comfortable around the water, the importance of respecting their environment, how to work as a team, and the basics of sailing-- parts of the boat, rigging, reading the wind, steering, sail trim, and simple knot tying.

Tuesday & Thursday (2 weeks) July 13, 15, 20, & 22 5:30-7:30 pm $185 for all 4 class days. Adult Sailing classes offer adults, ages 19+, the opportunity to learn the sport of sailing in a safe, comfortable, and relaxed environment. Evening sessions are taught with two sailors per boat. Students learn basic seamanship skills like personal safety, knot tying, rigging the boat, and docking, along with introductory sailing skills like right-of-way rules, steering, sail trim, and reading the wind.

Adults 18+ Join us as we embark on our 17th season of pontoon tours on Pewaukee Lake. Tours include a two-hour cruise filled with rich history and fascinating points of interest narrated by the boat driver. We also provide water and a cookie. The beach is open every day (weather permitting*) Monday-Sunday from 10 am-5 pm. Lifeguards are on duty starting May 29 through mid-August. The beach will no longer have lifeguards on duty after mid-August; however, the beach will remain open to use through Labor Day weekend at your own risk. Bicycle Decorating Contest In cooperation with the American Legion Post #71, Pewaukee will host its annual holiday decorating contest. Children are invited to decorate their bikes, trikes and wagons at home and bring them to Kiwanis Village Park in the morning for the 101st Annual Decorating Contest. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category and every participant will receive a treat. Friday Night Hikers with Trish I I This hiking group is for Boomers+ that want to get out and enjoy some of the area’s beautiful trails with company. Most hikes are not strenuous, but because of the local terrain, one needs to be steady on the feet. DEPARTMENT POLICY Am I A Resident?
• Any person who resides in/pays taxes to the City or Village of Pewaukee is a resident and pays the resident rate. • Any business that is in/pays taxes to the City or Village of Pewaukee pays resident rates. All other individuals or businesses are considered non-residents.
Refund Policy
Participants who request a refund not less than one week prior to the first day of the program will receive a full refund. Requests within one week of program start or after program start will not receive a refund except in the case of a medical reason documented by a physician or if the participant’s spot can be filled by an individual on the waitlist.
Notice Of Non-Discrimination Policy
It is the policy of the Pewaukee Parks and Recreation Department that no person shall, on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or handicap, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity, including employment.
Registration Exceptions
Programs are designed according to age and/or instructor/ student ratios or level that will best benefit the student. Please DO NOT ask us to exceed class limits or put your child in the wrong age or skill level.
Hospital/Medical Insurance
The Department does not provide hospital/ medical insurance coverage for people participating in sponsored activities. Further, the Department does not provide hospital/medical coverage for Department sponsored activities. Participants are encouraged to obtain their own insurance coverage prior to and for the duration of the activity they take part in.
For information on cancelled classes/trips due to inclement weather, participants will be contacted via email or text. You may also contact the Department with any weather related concerns.
