- Pewaukee Joint Parks & Recreation Board Overseeing the operation of the department is a joint Parks and Recreation Board. This advisory board consists of three city citizens and one City Common Council alderman, as well as two village citizens and one village board trustee. All of these positions are obtained through appointment by either the city mayor or the village president. This board typically meets on the second Wednesday of each month, and is responsible for overseeing the annual budget, policies, and hiring of full-time staff. Ages 3-5 years Parents welcome to stay and play! Your preschooler will love our Tiny Tot camps! Each camp has a new, fun theme full of games, crafts, activities and memories. Ages 3-5 years This program is designed to introduce your little aspiring athlete to a new sport or game each week. Using modified sports-related games, focus will be on basic athletic skills, socialization and fun! Gettin’ Buggy

30001 Things that crawl, things that fly and things that squiggle – learn about many of our buggy friends! Children love to explore nature, so join us for this interesting view of some of our smallest critters. Dates: June 29-July 2

Princess Fantasy

Ninja Warrior Camp

Ages 4-7 years

Ages 8-12 years

The Diamond Pirates baseball program is a great way for your child to learn and enjoy the game of baseball. During the 8 weeks of the season, your child will learn the basics of baseball with an emphasis on teamwork, socialization and fun! Coaches and staff will engage your child and help to instill a love for the game throughout the summer. Children will be placed on teams prior to the first day of the season. One friend request will be considered when creating teams. Children will receive a team t-shirt and participation award. Please supply your own glove. Rubber cleats or tennis shoes with grip are recommended. Enrollment: min. 24, max. 48

You’ve seen American Ninja Warrior on television, now learn the skills it takes on real ninja obstacles! This fun camp will be led by an experienced personal trainer and will include exercise, strength and movement skills, balance, learning and fun! Obstacles similar to those on the show will challenge kids both physically and mentally. Friday’s class will feature the final competition and family and friends are invited to attend. Fowling in the Park Ages 8-17 years

Need an activity for your kids that is fun, screen-free and isn’t at your house? Kids Fowling at North Shore Middle School is an affordable program where the kids can burn off energy with their friends playing fowling, corn hole, basketball, and other games. Parents have the option to either drop off or stay and watch. Fencing Summer Camp

Grades 2-5 and 6-12 Fencing is a wonderful sport, engaging both the mind and the body in a vigorous and fun activity with historical tradition. Pewaukee Parks & Recreation is delighted to offer this amazing camp opportunity! Olympic Coach Ro Sobalvarro heads up {YEL!}’s curriculum, instructor training and tournament consultation. Coach Sobalvarro brings with him an immense knowledge of youth, national and international fencing. We keep it fun, too. Your instructors will teach fundamentals or work on improvements for continued athletes using fun fencing games and challenges. Safety is our first priority! We supply safety swords, protective masks, chest plates and jackets, in a high-octane, inclusive environment. Jedi Force Training Camp Ages 8-12 years

May the Force be with you as you train to become a Jedi master or Sith warrior. Padawans will gain skills in martial arts, weapons, and mental strength as well as safety, confidence, and discipline. This fun camp will be led by martial arts black belts in Taekwondo. The last day of the camp will feature a choreographed battle scene and family and friends are invited to attend. Learn to Ice Skate

Ages 4-12 years This class develops youths’ basic ice skating skills. Youth will develop confidence on the ice by learning forward and backward skating, turns and stops, and falling and recovery. This is a cooperative program with the Waukesha County Parks System and local communities. It is suggested that young children bring helmets (bike or other helmet is fine) to the class. Dress warm and come early to allow time to get skates on before class. Enrollment: max. 7 Group will be divided by age.

Hooper Hands Drills, Skills & Games Basketball Camp Ages 4-11 years

Are you ready for some fun while learning the basic fundamentals of basketball? Little Hoopers will participate in different fundamental drills, skill challenges, team play, and fun games. We provide a non-competitive environment to develop and excite the kid’s vision of the game of basketball. Each camper will receive a t-shirt. Program run by Hooper Hands Basketball Academy. Join us for our Adult Social Tennis League. This co-ed league is open to all skill levels; you will be matched up each week based on skill to offer the best competition possible! Come have fun, get active and be social on the newly resurfaced courts! Balls included, bring your own racket. Participants should indicate skill level (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced) as well as the desire to play Singles or Doubles. Pickleball Adults 18+

It’s the fastest growing sport in America! This program is perfect for seniors and all ages who would like to have fun in a social atmosphere and get a little exercise in too. A blend of tennis and ping pong, Pickleball is played on a modified (smaller) tennis court. Beginners and advanced beginners will enjoy this program. All equipment is provided, or you may bring your own paddles if you choose. You will be asked to choose a preferred day at time of registration. Our Pickleball Clinics are led by Dale Boschke, an experienced Pickleball player and clinician with a USAPA Pickleball rating of +3.5.

Head-Start Workshop

Heard about the game but don’t know where to start? Could use a few pointers before you begin play this summer? These novice player clinics are for you! Sign up for an easy-to-understand clinic taught by friendly, experienced players. Participants will learn the basics of the game including rules, scoring and how to use the equipment. Pickleball Drills-N-Skills Workshop Adults 18+

Looking for ways to improve your Pickleball game and playing strategy? This workshop will assist you in developing various aspects of your game by focusing on specific shots, positioning and partner awareness. The session will include serving techniques, placement of serves, lob shots, dinking, groundstrokes (forehand & backhand) and differing ball speeds. Included will be rule interpretation as requested, and typically misinterpreted rules. This will be a fun workshop offered by experienced players. Fun, fitness, adventure! Peaceful and invigorating, recreational tree climbing allows climbers to ascend into and explore trees safely. Gain a new appreciation for trees, nature and your County Parks. Recreational tree climbing is a unique activity that can be enjoyed by an individual, or in small groups, and is especially rewarding to families. All gear and instruction is provided. Arts Artsy Kids Art Camps

Paint-a-Pic Ages 6+ years

Creating art expands a child’s ability to interact with the world around them, and provides a new set of skills for selfexpression and communication. Not only does art help to develop the right side of the brain, it also cultivates important skills that benefit a child’s development. Messy, Messy Art Camp

This super-messy art camp is perfect for your creative child. We will explore a variety of art mediums such as clay, watercolor, papier mache, acrylics, pastels and much, much more! LALA Palooza Art This innovative “Maker Space” camp will provide TONS of supplies to campers to create all the crafts and art they want! Our instructors will provide instructions for numerous projects, but kids are encouraged to create on their own as well! Each day will have a basic ‘theme’ that will help guide the artists’ works for the day. “Maker Spaces” provide the opportunity for innovation, community and self-expression…and kids love them! Kids Park Art Festival is Back! Meet us at Koepp Park near Penny’s Bridge for this one-of-a-kind art experience.

The event will feature fun, hands-on art projects and activities, face painting and more! Stop by with the kids anytime during the scheduled times and stay as short or as long as you like. Activities run continuously during the two hour event.

People of all ages love to paint! Our Painta-Pic classes are designed for children and adults ages 6+. Our art instructors will present two artistic works that will inspire each local Picasso to create their own beautiful work of art using acrylic paints. No artistic experience needed! Building Bridges

Ages 4 through 104! The Building Bridges initiative is an intergenerational program designed to bridge the gap between our youngest and oldest participants. Each class in their series will bring joy to both the children and adults who participate in a setting that is open and friendly to all ages and abilities. Family Paint-a-Pic Ages 6+ years

People of all ages love to paint! Our Paint-a-Pic classes are designed for children and adults ages 6+. Our art instructors will present a sample painting that will inspire each local Picasso to create their own beautiful work of art using acrylic paints. No artistic experience needed! Adult must sign up and accompany children under age 8. Spanish Language Beginner / Continuing Adults 18+

Join us for a journey to learn the Spanish language! Enjoy the rewards of life-long learning while gaining the skills to connect to Spanish-speaking members of our community. The beginner course will introduce participants to listening and speaking entry-level conversational Spanish. Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga

With help from volunteers and sponsors, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department will organize days throughout the summer on Pewaukee Lake for kids to fish and learn about the preservation of our natural resources. Pontoon boats will leave the City’s Public Boat Launch on Woodland Drive for two hours of catch and release fishing. The boat will include 8 kids, two deputies and 2-3 volunteers. The bait, equipment and a shore lunch is included.

Join us for Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga this summer. SUP-Yoga is the fusion of yoga on a paddleboard while on our beautiful Pewaukee Lake. You get to experience Yoga outside and under the sun (on an anchored board). A SUP-Yoga (all levels) class is 60-ish minutes long (Monday, Wednesday, & Friday @ 6:15 pm & Sunday @ 9 am).  You should already know how to paddleboard, if not, take a lesson (or rental) before you take the SUP-Yoga class (or you can be brave and just come and try it all).

Sailors do not need to own a boat to participate in this class.

Teen Sailing

The Club 420 is a double-handed sailboat (2 people) which allows sailors to work closely with their teammate while on the water. This class teaches basic seamanship skills like personal safety, knot tying, and rigging the boat as well as introductory sailing skills like skippering and crewing as a team, reading the wind, and the points of sail. This class is also a great introduction to High School Sailing. Boats are provided for this class and equipment use is included in the course fee.


Fridays ONLY 9 am-12 pm, June 19-August 7 (No Class July 3), $250 Kinderprams is an introductory program designed for children ages 5-6. Your sailor will learn to be safe and comfortable around the water, the importance of respecting their environment, how to work as a team, and the basics of sailing-- parts of the boat, rigging, reading the wind, steering, sail trim, and simple knot tying.

Rental Information The Pewaukee Parks and Recreation Department invites you and your family to spend a day at one of the beautiful parks in the City or Village of Pewaukee. We strive to provide our residents with well maintained and safe grounds and buildings to use. The parks are open to the public and the buildings may be rented for many occasions such as weddings, family reunions, graduations, birthday parties, or just a friendly gathering. Tribute Tree Program The Pewaukee Parks and Recreation Department offers a Tribute Tree Program for individuals interested in planting a tree in the park system in memory of a special person. Registration Exceptions

Programs are designed according to age and/or instructor/ student ratios or level that will best benefit the student. Please DO NOT ask us to exceed class limits or put your child in the wrong age or skill level.

Hospital/Medical Insurance

The Department does not provide hospital/ medical insurance coverage for people participating in sponsored activities. Further, the Department does not provide hospital/medical coverage for Department sponsored activities. Participants are encouraged to obtain their own insurance coverage prior to and for the duration of the activity they take part in.

Waiting Lists

When you register for a program, please check the “waiting list” box to indicate if you would like to be put on a waiting list in the event of a full program. The Department will make every effort to accommodate those on the waiting lists (adding classes if possible, etc.). If any openings become available, you will then be contacted.

Refund Policy

Full refunds will not be issued unless a program is cancelled by the Parks and Recreation Department. Participants who request a refund not less than one week prior to the first day of the program will receive a 50% refund. Requests within one week of program start or after program start will not receive a refund except in the case of a medical reason documented by a physician or if the participant’s spot can be filled by an individual on the waitlist.

Department Sales Tax

Sales tax is included in all activities in the program fee in accordance with the Department of Revenue laws.

Red, White & Blue Celebration Fourth of July Activities Celebrate the 4th of July right here in Pewaukee! All activities will commence on Saturday, July 4th!

Bicycle Decorating Contest In cooperation with the American Legion Post #71, Pewaukee will host its annual holiday decorating contest. Children are invited to decorate their bikes, trikes and wagons at home and bring them to Kiwanis Village Park in the morning for the 101st Annual Decorating Contest. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category and every participant will receive a treat. TIME: Check in at 9:45 am; judging at 10 am LOCATION: Kiwanis Village Park FEE: Please bring a non-perishable food item


We ask you to preregister to ensure we have enough treats for the kids. Register by June 19th.
