BAJA TEAM forward-looking (EN)

BAJA TEAM, forward-looking With a vision for the future of Baja California.

Due to the disappearance of ProMéxico, whose purpose was to attract investment and promote Mexico abroad, the creation of new alliances coming from the private initiative, as a way to face the needs that the office covered for 11 years, became relevant. In Baja California, the industrial sector took the initiative and launched new strategies to continue promoting the Baja state and guarantee the economic development of the region. In this context, Baja Team was created with a prospective vision for Cali Baja.

What is Baja Team? An alliance made up of representatives of business groups from Tecate, Ensenada, Mexicali and Tijuana, with the aim of strengthening the economic promotion of Baja California. In order to formalize this partnership, an agreement has been signed with the idea to collaborate; unifying efforts and proposing strategies to promote the Baja State internationally and attract investment, in a coordinated manner. Another of the purposes of creating this new council is to put the economic promotion of Baja California in the hands of its citizens and for entrepreneurs to play a proactive part.

It’s not only promotion but also the exchange of information, the training of work teams and having a level of knowledge of the capacities of other cities, since we are talking about a cross-border metropolitan area, well-integrated with the state of California.

Carlos Jaramillo

President of Economic and Industrial Development of Tijuana AC (Deitac).

It is an agreement between the organizations to promote and attract joint investment in a more efficient and professional way, optimizing our resources and market focus. There are states that are already advancing in their coalition efforts, so this was a necessary step for Baja California.

Rodolfo Andrade Pelayo

President of the Industrial Development Commission, Mexicali (CDIM).

Baja California has unique advantages that qualify it as a priority over other regions, such as its geographical location, the proximity to the United States’ West Coast and the connection to Asia, across the Pacific, to name a few.

Gustavo Morachis Vargas

Former president of the Ensenada Economic Promotion Commission (Copreen).

We will work on a joint program to meet unified promotional agendas, with dates of participation in international events and congresses or fairs. Another of our first actions will be to position the name of this alliance that we call: “BAJA TEAM”, as well as the official message to promote the region abroad.

Joel Villalobos Gutiérrez

President of the Economic Promotion Commission, (EDC-Tecate).
