Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Lighting of the Candles Placing of the Bible Presentation of Fourth Grade Bibles  8:45 Prayer of Confession  10:00, 11:15 Almighty God, we confess to you today that we are an impatient people. We have become accustomed to getting what we want, when we want it, the way we want it. When you are silent, we grow anxious; yet when you speak, we admit that we can tune you out. In the practice of our faith, too often we long for you to accommodate our expectations. Forgive us for our impatience and our calloused hearts. Help us to listen properly, even as we continue our confession… Assurance of God’s Forgiveness  10:00, 11:15 Congregational Response† Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing  #379 (v. 3)

Offering Our Gifts Nearer, My God, to Thee  John Gardner Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee! E’en though it be a cross that raiseth me; Still all my song shall be, “Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee.” Though, like the wanderer, the sun gone down, Darkness be over me, my rest a stone; Yet in my dreams I’d be Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee.

Then, with my waking thoughts bright with thy praise, Out of my stony griefs Bethel I raise; So by my woes to be Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee.

Those who are able, please stand.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING The Session of Peachtree has called a congregational meeting today during the 10:00 am worship service for the purpose of electing the 2017 Elder Nominating Committee and receiving the 2016 Annual Report. For more information on the Elder Nominating Committee, see pages 6–7.

4th Grade Bibles Today, we present our 4th graders with their own Bible, representing our commitment to the infallibility of scripture and the spiritual growth of the next generation. It is through the Bible that these covenant children will continue to piece together God’s drama of redemption that is weaved through the stories of both the Old and New Testaments. It is this drama of Christ’s redemptive work that will imprint on their hearts their need for Jesus and the free grace he gives.
