How long I’ve languished and my heart has anguished Searching after Thee. Thine I am, O spotless Lamb! No where can I hide my soul from Thee; none so dear beside Thee.

WELCOME AND OPENING PRAYER CONGREGATIONAL HYMN

O SACRED HEAD NOW WOUNDED

PRAYER OF CONFESSION Eternal God, whose covenant with us is never broken, we confess that we fail to fulfill your will. Though you have bound yourself to us, we will not bind ourselves to you. In Jesus Christ you serve us freely, but we refuse your love and withhold ourselves from others. We do not love you fully or love one another as you command. In your mercy, forgive and cleanse us. Lead us once again to your table and unite us to Christ, who is the bread of life and the vine from which we grow in grace.

Psalm 116:1-4, 12-19 “Out of the Deep” from Requiem | Psalm 131 . . . . . . . . . . . . John Rutter Out of the deep have I called unto thee, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice. O let thine ears consider well the voice of my complaint. If thou, Lord, wilt be extreme to mark what is done amiss? O Lord, who may abide it? For there is mercy with thee, therefore shalt thou be feared. I look for the Lord; my soul doth wait for him; And in his word is my trust. My soul fleeth unto the Lord before the morning watch, I say, Before the morning watch. O Israel trust in the Lord, for with the Lord there is mercy, And with him is plenteous redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his sins.
