Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Offering Our Gifts ’Til the Storm Passes By  Mosie Lister/arr. Jay Rouse

Hymn of Response† Standing on the Promises

Prayer of Confession Lord, you have called us to be your people, to live by your grace, and seek your justice. When you ask us to look at the world through your eyes, we turn away instead. When we sense that you are altering our direction, we often respond with a hardened heart. Our lives are filled with distractions, and our focus is on ourselves instead of the weak. Lord, forgive us for all the ways that we fail to live out our calling as your people. Give us the ears to hear your voice and help us to respond as your children as we continue our confession in silence…

In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face, While the storms howl above me and there’s no hiding place. Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry, “Keep me safe ‘til the storm passes by.”

Invitation and Benediction†

Assurance of God’s Forgiveness

’Til the storm passes over, ’til the thunder sounds no more, ’til the clouds roll forever from the sky; Hold me fast, let me stand In the hollow of Thy hand, Keep me safe ‘til the storm passes by.

Congregational Response† Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing  #379 (v. 3)

Postlude

Many times satan whispered, “There is no need to try, For there’s no end of sorrow, there’s no hope by and by.” But I know Thou are with me, and tomorrow I’ll rise Where the storms never darken the skies.

Life of the Congregation Invitation to Prayer Love Bade Me Welcome  Ralph Vaughn Williams

Those who are able, please stand.

When the long night has ended and the storms come no more, Let me stand in Thy presence on that bright, peaceful shore. In that land where the tempest never comes, Lord, may I dwell with Thee when the storm passes by!

The beautiful flowers in the Sanctuary this morning are given to the glory of God and in honor of: The Peachtree Presbyterian Chancel Choir by Mary Hoffman

If your young child needs attention during worship, live broadcasts of the service are available in the Williams Center and the Nursing Mothers and Infants Room off of the Williams Center.
