September 2025

The Big Event brings Big Smiles!

On 26 July, residents from across Parkside joined together in Copperwood Place for food, games, and most of all - fun!

Enjoying delicious food provided by our local cafe and community heroes Pristine Eats, residents were able to enjoy activities for all activities and tastes. Whether it was knitting or dancing, dogs or music, there was something for everyone.

This is the second year the Big Event has come to Parkside, and it highlights the amazing community that we have here.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day, and for the help and support that you all gave us in setting this up. We hope you and your families (and your pets!) all enjoyed the day. It’s great that we have such an involved group of residents, and active resident group in the PRC, and we appreciate the support that you give to events like this.

We’re already looking at what this event could look like in 2026. If you have any ideas about what you would like to see, or you think would be enjoyed by you and your neighbours, please let us know!

Building for the future - learn new skills!

This summer, younger Parkside residents joined Youth Build to successfully complete a 16-week construction and employability course.

We partnered with local organisations to connect work experience and job opportunities directly to the participants

If someone you know is aged between 14–25 and is interested in gaining skills in construction and employability, get in touch at join.us@youthbuildvuk.org or on Instagram @youthbuildvuk

Waving goodbye to litter

Change begins when we listen and work together, and the newly-formed South Forum is one way Peabody residents can help shape their communities.

Colleagues from the Parkside Estates team were joined by 16 children from Pristine Youth in August on a day dedicated to getting rid of litter around the development.

Led by our Estates Area Manager Mitchell, the team worked hard to clear some areas that had accumulated a lot of dropped litter.

This session demonstrated to the group the importance of taking pride in the area you live, as well as delivering valuable life lessons of teamwork and positivity.

We’re grateful to everyone who took part in the day for helping us keep Parkside clean.

This resident-led group brings together people from across South London to share ideas, raise concerns, and hear from Peabody teams. Supported by the Resident Engagement and Neighbourhoods teams, the Forum gives all residents the opportunity to discuss the issues that are important to them with representatives from Peabody, and have an open conversation with them and other residents about the neighbourhoods you live in.

The group is chaired by Sue, who, despite being a long-term resident in a South London Peabody home, was, until recently, Chair of the Forum’s sister group in North East London. Until this summer, Sue was a steady and passionate voice in the group and her masterful leadership helped shape the North East Forum. She’s now stepped aside from that duty to help Peabody’s Local Engagement team in the South region set up the new group.

With a newly-formed group, and a new Chair in place, now’s the perfect time to get involved. If you’re a Peabody resident in South London, you’re welcome - no TRA (Tenant & Resident Association) membership or experience is needed. Just bring your voice, your ideas, and your passion for your community. Come along, ask questions, and help shape the future.

Emergency repairs

If you rent your home from us, we have a duty to repair issues within a reasonable amount of time.

We classify repairs as either emergency or routine. With emergency issues, such as a major leak or electrical failure, we aim to make them safe within four hours of the report. Of course, if the problem can be fixed completely in that time, we will do so, but often we do need to arrange for parts to be delivered, and this takes more time.

With routine issues such as minor leaks and blockages, or replacing a broken tap, we aim to repair them within 30 days.

Whatever the issue, safety is the most important thing, and we will visit, assess, and make safe any emergency repair as quickly as possible.

You can report all repairs by calling 0300 123 3456 or through the My Peabody portal.

The Parkside Residents Collective recently applied for a grant from Peabody’s Community Investment initiative and used it so residents could enjoy a day out in Brighton.

Residents may have heard that Ardmore, the contractor carrying out safety works at your building, has gone into administration. This means an administrator is now managing their business affairs.

Your safety is our priority. The current safety measures in your building remain in place.

We’re reviewing what this means for the projects Ardmore are working on and will share more information as soon as we can.

If you have any questions, please contact us on 0300 123 3456 or speak with your Neighbourhood Managers Kelly Ann and Bianca Ardmore

The PRC joined together with Pristine Youth and took two full coaches - 106 people! The sun was out, and some people even got to dip their toes in the water.

One resident said “The trip was absolutely amazing - a brilliant day out! It’s affordable when you have kids and can’t afford to travel abroad.”

Another added: “This trip is excellent. Sublime weather, beautiful architecture, amazing shopping spree, a sea dip, fish and chipsamazing! Where are we going next year?!”
