New Community Hub opens!
Salisbury Manor School
4 Burnside Ave, London E4 8YJ
We’re excited to share that Salisbury Manor Primary School has opened its doors to a new community hub, supported by Peabody.
Since Monday 8 September many of the activities previously held at the Paradox Centre have found a new home here, with over 40 hours of sessions now available each week!
The space is set for a refresh thanks to our partners. Planned improvements include new toilets, a kitchenette, added storage and a more open layout to make the hub even more welcoming.
The team are aiming to start works over October half term and are finalising timescales with partners who are conducting detailed site surveys to inform their planning. We will update hirers and residents as timescales are finalised.
We’d love for you to explore what’s on. Check out the timetable online or visit the community hub and see the space in action.
How to find us:
From the Paradox Centre, walk north on Ching Way and turn right onto Burnside Avenue. The entrance is ahead on your left.

Street dance, leadership skills and summer fun
This summer, local young people got creative with Leaders Community, taking part in street dance, drama and cooking demos, while building leadership skills. Some led their own sessions, others relaxed in the chillout zone with PlayStation and board games.
One 17-year-old volunteer said, “My dance instructor has been training our group on how to lead our own sessions, and I’ve had a blast being involved as a mentor and leader. It’s really motivated me to keep following my passion of becoming a dance instructor.”
A 9-year-old participant shared, “I’m so glad my mum made me come. I had to say thank you to her because I’ve made lots of new friends and I’m having so much fun.”
Langthorne Park hosted lively football tournaments by Footstepz, while Chingford’s Paradox Centre offered games, pool and team fun with refreshments.
Keeping Ching Way safe
We understand that some residents have concerns about crime, anti-social behaviour, and safety in your area.
To help address this, the Metropolitan Police have recently launched a new platform calledMETENGAGE, which allows residents to report issues directly to their local policing team.
We encourage you to sign up at metengage.co.uk. Through METENGAGE, you can report anything that feels unsafe or concerning, whether it’s a criminal matter or simply something that doesn’t feel right. Every report helps the police build a clearer picture of what’s happening locally and supports better resource allocation to keep our community safe.
For any high-risk or emergency situations, please call 999 first before reaching out to Peabody.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to remind residents that Peabody are not able to access and release CCTV footage from the estate to residents due to data protection. If you require CCTV footage, you will need to contact the local Police. The Police will give you a crime reference number and they will request the footage.
The Metropolitan Police also have a WhatsApp group for each ward. Using this channel, you can report crimes and provide photos or videos directly to the Police.
