Welcome to your September Fish Island Village Newsletter

Security Update
On Thursday 4 September your Neighbourhood Manager met with a group of residents to discuss current issues with security at Fish Island Village. We’ll be in touch soon to let you know what the next steps will be to help resolve the issue in more detail, but we wanted to share a short update.
We know that security has been a serious issue at FIV for many residents, with an increase in bike thefts from stores and repeated damage to the car park gates a particular recurring problem.
Through these conversations with FIVRA and a core group of residents it's been suggested that the most feasible option would be to provide additional security to Fish Island Village overnight. We are discussing with Peabody colleagues how best to move this forward and we’ll be in touch next week with an update.
Arts and
Crafts Market Success
Thank you to everyone who came along to the Fish Island Village Arts and Crafts Market on Saturday 30 August. This event was proposed, planned and made possible by Abigail Yentis, a local artist based at Two More Years in Hackney Wick.
It's safe to say that the market was a hit. There were 12 stalls showcasing some of the best of Fish Island Village, including food from Lanterna and music by Godspeed Jones, and creations from independent artists from across London.
Security Update
If you missed out, or want to relive the day, head over to @fivcraftmarket on Instagram to view some video and photo highlights. We look forward to seeing FIV host more events like this in the future!
On your doorstep
The Trampery at Fish Island Village is home to some fantastic small businesses, and we aren’t the only ones to think so.
Our very own coffee shop, restaurant and much more – Inis – was recently given a glowing review by Grace Dent in The Guardian.
You can read the article at theguardian.com/food/2025/aug/31 or just pop down to Inis and try out it out!
Vehicles and Parking
Motorcycles on the estate
We kindly remind all residents to register their motorcycles with PCM. Starting on 1 October 2025, PCM will begin enforcing motorcycle parking regulations.
If your motorcycle is not registered, you may receive a parking ticket.
This helps us ensure that all vehicles on-site belong to residents, keeping the estate safe and well-organised.
There’s no charge for registering. You can register with PCM by calling 01753 512603 or emailing permits@pcm-uk.co.uk. Your cooperation helps us keep the estate safe and well-organised for everyone.
Underground carpark
We’d like to remind all residents to please avoid parking on green areas within the underground car park. These spaces are not designated for parking and may obstruct doorways or emergency access routes.
To avoid any issues:
Use only your allocated bay
Do not park outside marked bays
Parking on green areas will result in a ticket
Please use the carpark with care and consideration. For everyone’s safety, the speed limit is 5mph at all times.
Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our shared spaces safe and accessible.

Little Book Stop Launch
Saturday 13 September, 11am at Hertford Union Canal Lock
Fish Island Village is about to become home to a Penguin Little Book Stop! Cinzia, a resident at FIV applied many months ago to have the Little Book Stop installed by the canal outside Adansbeck Court.
As part of her application Cinzia shared how important reading and books such as Little Women have been to her throughout her life and how many residents at FIV have been sharing books with one another for years.

Her story was one of more than 2,000 sent into Penguin Books and Little Free Library, and we’re thrilled that FIV is one of just 90 places across the UK getting a Little Book Stop this autumn.
It’s a simple idea: take a book, leave a book.
It’s a way of celebrating the informal book swapping that’s already been happening in our community and making it even easier for everyone to get involved.
To mark the occasion, Cinzia has teamed up with other residents and local businesses to host a launch event.
Pop down to Hertford Union Canal Lock at 11am on Saturday 13 September to find out more and enjoy a free babyccino.
Development TeamUpdate
Soft landscapingplants and trees
On the evening of Tuesday 9 September OuterSpace, our contractor, and the team held an online session to virtually present the most recent design plans for soft landscaping at Fish Island Village.
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for this using the invite information shared via your resident association representatives.
OuterSpace shared detailed design information, including the types of plant that will be used and updating on some of the changes to the plans that have been made since the designs were last shared.
The next step will be to undertake a pretender assessment of the design and we are still planning for work to be underway during the Autumn planting season.

For those who have requested make good works following your MVHR replacement, this is currently being discussed with Hill and we are working in collaboration to put together a plan of action.
We are awaiting on the final surveys to be completed by Ecolution before Phase 3 of replacements can commence.
Heating and hot water
Thank you to everyone who has supported the team by allowing access to your home, as part of our ongoing work to investigate the performance and reliability of your heating and hot water system.
We have received the report from Max Fordham and are currently reviewing the outputs internally.
Our technical team will be meeting next week to discuss the findings.
Following this, the team have liaised with the resident's association to schedule a meeting to review the findings of the Max Fordham report. This will be held on Monday 22 September.
