We’re pleased to say that since installing automatic lights and tamper-proof mesh, there have been no new security issues in the car park.
We’re still working with local police force regarding other security issues. Please keep reporting incidents via 999 and METENGAGE. This helps to inform local policing decisions, such as where to allocate resources.
The Little Book Stop by the canal outside Adansbeck Court has returned after a short break for repairs.
Penguin kindly fixed the issue with the installation of the glass. Although it took a little longer than expected to return, we’re so pleased to see it back.
We’d love this little library to become the go-to spot for book swaps in Fish Island Village. We know that communal areas have been used to swap books before, but that this posed a fire safety issue, so we are delighted to see this space back for the community.
Thanks to Fish Island Village resident Cinzia for making this all happen!
Your reporting is already making a difference. As over recent weeks there’s been more overnight patrols in the area by the Met’s Safer Neighbourhoods Team.
Cleaning schedules
We know how important it is that communal areas are kept clean and tidy.
There are regular cleaning and caretaking teams from Peabody that visit all the blocks across FIV. You can find out when your block is due to be cleaned on the the schedule on your block notice board.
Sometimes these schedules change at short notice due to staff shortages or unavailability. If you have any concerns, please speak with your concierge team, who will be happy to discuss these with you.

Your concierge team
The Fish Island Team and residents are continuing to work together to improve the concierge service.
We’re pleased to share that some Fish Island Village residents, who were elected by FIVRA to take part in the process, will be on the resident tender panel.
These residents recently attended tender training to gain insight into the procurement process, so they are well placed to represent the views and needs of FIV residents.
You may have noticed work taking place at the end of October. Our contractors were digging trial pits to help them review the pavement issues that residents have been experiencing
Civil Engineers are now reviewing the findings on site, and this will inform the next steps. We’ll let you know any updates or upcoming works once we have this information.
Plants and green spaces
We are currently in the tender phase for these works and are in communication with tree and plant suppliers. We’ll let you know more about this as we move forward.
Heating and hot water
Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the work to resolve the ongoing issues with heating and hot water by allowing access to your home.
At the time of writing, around 200 units have been successfully serviced.
If you haven’t had your service done, we cannot stress enough how important it is to allow us to do this. It is vital for the Fish Island Village hot water system that all residents confirm appointments and provide access.
We would like to continue to reassure all residents that we won’t change the temporary boiler setup, which is supplying heating to the estate, until the fix is complete and working
