Richard Humann Richard Humann arricchisce la sua installazione Ascension creando nuove costellazioni che si sovrappongono a quelle già esistenti nel nostro cielo notturno. L’ascensione è l’atto del passaggio a un livello più alto o più potente, oppure la celebrazione dell’ascesa ai cieli. L’opera di Humann sfrutta con grande maestria la tecnologia della realtà aumentata coinvolgendo lo spettatore attraverso mezzi che sono al tempo stesso pubblici e profondamente privati. La nuova costellazione, The Angel Stars, è visibile sul Lido di Venezia con l’app gratuita Membit. È sufficiente che lo spettatore rivolga lo smartphone o il tablet verso il cielo per godere di questo spettacolo di realtà aumentata. Con Ascension, Richard Humann eleva alcune figure emblematiche del XX secolo collocandole nel cielo stellato. Possiamo così vedere The Blue Moon King, The Tragic Queen, The White Knight e The Four-Headed Monster, assieme ad altre otto costellazioni create dall’artista. Le immagini ibride sono quelle di Elvis Presley, di Marilyn Monroe, di John F. Kennedy, dei Beatles e di altre personalità iconiche. Per The Angel Stars, l’artista ha trasformato in immagini metaforiche proiettate nel cielo due star dell’epoca d’oro del cinema hollywoodiano, Clark Gable e Katharine Hepburn.
Richard Humann continues his art installation Ascension in creating new constellation systems superimposed over our existing ones in the night sky. Ascension is the act of moving to a higher or more powerful position, or the celebrated journey of rising to the heavens. Humann’s art installation harnesses the technology of the Augmented Reality (AR) environment and engages viewers via means that is at once public and deeply personal. The newly created constellation, The Angel Stars, is visible above the Lido in Venice when viewed with the free Membit app. The viewer simply holds their smart phone or tablet up toward the sky to see the Augmented Reality art. In Ascension Richard Humann elevates icons of the 20th Century and places them in the night sky. There are The Blue Moon King, The Tragic Queen, The White Knight, and The Four-Headed Monster, along with eight other constellations that he has created. The hybrid imagery is that of Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, John F. Kennedy, the Beatles, and other iconic personalities. For The Angel Stars he has taken two movie stars of the golden age of Hollywood, Clark Gable and Katharine Hepburn and transformed them into metaphoric imagery, and then lifted them to the heavens above.
