We’re 32!

This issue of Parts Magazine completes our 32nd year of publishing magazines for Parts Unlimited. Sheesh, so many great memories since Fred Fox and I worked out plans in 1994 for my company to produce magazines for them. We are so grateful for Fred’s support and confidence then that we could deliver publications that help the dealers and sales reps stay current on details of the products carried by Parts Unlimited. Our appreciation continues since Fred’s passing with LeMans Corporation headed up by Paul Langley and his management team. We look forward to Volume 33 that we will produce in 2026.

In this issue, we feature a preview of the next NVP Product Expo coming up in January in Louisville. That’s a great town and a great event. You should be there to get 2026 kicked off right. That story begins on page 34.

Another fun feature that many of you attended starts on page 64. That was the 2025 Buffalo Stampede dealer ride based in Deadwood, South Dakota. There were over 170 dealers, sales reps and vendors there, as was our Editor Dennis Johnson. Be sure to check it out. If you were there, you might be seen in the story. If you weren’t there, I’d suggest you talk to your Parts rep about the 2026 ride! They are a great way to recharge your batteries and to be reminded what a fun industry this is.

In the off-road market, both Moose Offroad and THOR are staying busy with their race programs while also putting what they learn at the track into new styles and features. Both brands are featured. And speaking of offroad, be sure to read the Dealer Profile story starting on page 26 about Vaith Cycle in Racine, Minnesota. Owner Jason Vaith is all about off-road both in his store and at racetracks in his area. He is a long time Parts Unlimited dealer, and we are happy to share his story with you. ■

We hope to see you in Louisville in January!

Cameron Beaubier and Benjamin Smith join Warhorse HSBK Ducati with Parts Unlimited sponsorship

Ducati North America and Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law announced that reigning MotoAmerica Superbike Champion and six-time national titleholder Parts Unlimited rider Cameron Beaubier will compete aboard the all-new Ducati Panigale V4 R in the 2026 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship.

Returning as a two-man team for the first time since 2024, Beaubier will be joined by Benjamin Smith, who made his debut in the MotoAmerica Superbike class in 2023 and competed in Supersport beginning in 2018.

Beaubier’s signing marks a significant milestone for Ducati’s U.S. racing program, bringing together one of America’s most accomplished riders with the latest generation of Ducati’s premier Superbike.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Cameron to the team and look forward to the results we will get together,” said Bobby Shek, Team Manager, Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law. “With his talent and experience, combined with the performance of the new V4 R, we’re confident we can fight for another championship from day one.”

Beaubier, who captured the 2025 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship, now looks ahead to a new chapter aboard

the factory-supported

Panigale V4 R.

“I’m really excited to join Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law and to race the new Panigale V4 R,” said Beaubier. “I’ve watched what Ducati has accomplished globally in Superbike and MotoGP, and I can’t wait to bring that same performance and passion to the American championship.”

The partnership builds on Ducati’s growing success in MotoAmerica, following multiple race wins and podiums since the marque’s return to the Superbike class. The all-new 2026 Panigale V4 R features advanced electronics, improved chassis dynamics, and engine updates developed directly from Ducati’s MotoGP and WorldSBK race programs.

“Cameron’s record speaks for itself — he’s a proven champion and a true professional who embodies Ducati’s competitive spirit,” said Jason Chinnock, CEO, Ducati North America. “His experience and precision will be key as we compete to secure the Superbike championship for Ducati.”

Beaubier and Smith will debut the Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law Panigale V4 R at the 2026 MotoAmerica Superbike season opener on April 17 through 19 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. ■

A CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON

AN UNFORGETTABLE YEAR OF OFF-ROAD RACING

A CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON

AN UNFORGETTABLE YEAR OF OFF-ROAD RACING

The dust is still settling on another landmark year of off-road racing in the U.S., where dozens of Moose Offroad-backed athletes showed grit and fortitude all the way to the championship circle. Grant Davis, Mason Semmens and Rachel Gutish are among the elite to clinch titles in 2025, while the late season also brought out some new and returning winners to the top of the podium, including Kailub Russell, Michael Witkowski and Noah Gordon

The Grand National Cross Country Series had some fireworks in the final rounds as the battle for the overall championship raged on between Factory KTM’s Ken Kelley and FMF KTM Factory Racing Team Landers’ Grant Davis. The XC2 250 Pro championship dominator, Davis, had also helped himself to four out of five overall wins in the rounds leading up to the Penton GNCC.

The Penton GNCC saw a different familiar face up front as Russell made his triumphant return to the top of the podium. The AmPro Yamaha rider, who recently came out of retirement, clinched an overdue win, one the former eighttime GNCC overall champion says he “just willed myself to get that one.”

Russell was joined on the overall podium by his teammate Liam Draper in second, and fellow Moose Offroad athlete Cody Barnes of the Phoenix Racing Honda team in third. Barnes took the XC2 250 Pro victory en route to the overall podium.

At the Ironman GNCC final, it was Witkowski with the big victory, a maiden win for the Phoenix Racing Honda rider. “I got a good start, and it just felt effortless,” said Witkowski. “They always say when you can win, it feels easy, but that was truly an awesome day, and I’m just so blessed that the day went that smoothly. I’ve never actually done this, so it’ll make the off-season and all those long hours well worth it.”

It was another all-Moose podium with AmPro Yamaha’s Draper in third, and a landmark finish for Phoenix Honda with a 1-2 for the team. Barnes carded second overall, also claiming the XC2 250 Pro win to clinch the vice-championship. “For Phoenix Honda to go one and two overall, that’s cool for the team. It shows the progression we’ve made, so overall it was a good day,” said Barnes.

On the Enduro front, Gutish emerged as the Moose Offroad star of the season, clinching an incredible five championships in 2025. Gutish was crowned the FIM World Champion at the German EnduroGP round, the first time an American

third-overall finish at the Desert Classic round. The victory marked his sixth-straight win, enabling him to nab the number-one plate with two rounds still remaining.

The following weekend Semmens locked up the WORCS Pro 250 title with another dominant class win, this one coming at the Mesquite round. Semmens was joined on the podium by his teammate Gordon, who has come on strong late in the season. Gordon’s win would come at the following WORCS round, the finale in Twentynine Palms, California. After a fierce race-long battle, Gordon emerged at the finish line ahead by one second to claim his first win of the year.

(male or female) has accomplished this task. The Rieju rider scored a double win to take a convincing two-minute victory, stamping her world championship with an exclamation point. At the Gobbler Getter National Enduro final, Gutish rode to a second-place finish to clinch her fifth title of the season, counting also her TKO Hard Enduro Championship, Canadian Enduro Championship and ISDE Women’s World Trophy.

Out West, Semmens of the FMF RPM KTM Racing Team rode his win streaks to two national championships. Semmens first locked up the NGPC Pro II title with a class win and

The J-Day Offroad series, the New England circuit that is gaining national attention, also saw its share of Moose Offroad riders on the podium with AmPro Yamaha’s Brandon Gregorie battling for wins at nearly every round. The Moose Offroad rider took the GP Overall Championship down to the wire at the final, but in the end was one point shy of the grand title.

“It will be a short off-season before we see the world’s best off-road riders go toe-to-toe once again in American off-road racing,” said Carl van Niekerk, Moose Offroad Rider Support. “Expect to see more Moose Offroad-backed riders taking to GNCC, National Enduro, NGPC, WORCS, Hare Scrambles and Hare & Hound in 2026, reminding all of us what is possible with true grit and determination.” ■

PARTS UNLIMITED DEALER HOSPITALITY

When the 2025 Monster Energy Motocross of Nations landed at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, in early October, Parts Unlimited and its fully loaded dealer hospitality rig set up with in the middle of all the action.

Open to dealers who had qualified through a special buyin program, the Parts Unlimited semi-truck and hospitality offered participants a comfortable spot to enjoy the racing. They got to meet their favorite vendors, grab some free swag, score some race-day discounts and specials from a handful

of suppliers and get autographs from THOR riders Cameron Durow and Camden McLellan, both from South Africa, and Italian Antonio Cairoli.

In the end, it was a great weekend of racing with defending champions Team Australia emerging as the two-time winners of the Chamberlain Trophy. Team USA put in a good battle with Team France for the second place position, with Team France in third.

Apparel for Off-Road Champions Dressed for the Occasion

The 2025 racing season was a great one for Moose Offroad. As the last few championships of the year wrapped up in late fall, the team at Moose waited for the final tally of titles taken by Moose Offroad riders.

In the end, the 2025 season produced an impressive number of championships by Moose Offroad-sponsored riders. And those standout riders got to the top wearing Alpha One and Sahara gear, the same performance-minded designs that dealers sell to riders.

One of the standout champions is Lachlan “La La” Turner, who took the crown in WMX to become the first-ever female champion in Moose Offroad history. Moose Offroad racer Rachel Gutish then became the first American in history to win the Enduro GP championship.

Those two weren’t the only ones achieving new milestones. Brycen Neal ended the 2025 season at the top of

the GNCC XC1 ATV standings, making it his fourth title in a row. Never in Moose Offroad history has a rider dominated a series for such a long consecutive stretch.

Turner, Gutish and Neal all sported Alpha One gear this season. This topof-the-line off-road gear was designed with the highest tier of competitors in mind, but it is also an attractive choice for any rider who wants premium racewear that is packed with features to ensure maximum comfort, looks and ventilation.

The fully vented Alpha One jersey is made from a lightweight, multi-panel stretch polymer, and the material combined with the athletic fit ensures completely unrestricted movement. The light weight and moisture-wicking properties keep riders cool, as do the mesh panels. A hydration hose pass-through further elevates the Alpha One jersey.

The Alpha One pants have a tailored look, but the four-way stretch panels mean flexibility is just right. Full-grain leather panels on the inner knees are paired with reinforced high-density knee panels for ultimate durability. The pants also feature perforated ventilation zones for a cooling effect.

Joel Hetrick has made a name for himself as one of the top ATV racers in the nation, as proven by the Moose Offroad rider’s sixth ATV Motocross National Championship title. Alex Thieman also set a high bar for ATV racing this season, grabbing the title of XC2 ATV Champion in GNCC competition.

In all, GNCC was a showcase for Moose Offroad riders and gear this season. Chloe Harper won the WXC Pro championship, while Grant Davis brought home top honors in the XC2 division.

In WORCS racing, Mason Semmens was the Pro Class 250 winner, and

Lachlan “LaLa” Turner
Joel Hetrick

Triston Alvarez wrapped up the season at the top of the Pro 125 3X class. Rachel Stout took on the rigors of hare scramble racing to become the 2025 West Hare Scramble Womens Pro champion.

Moose Offroad’s involvement with these racers is more than just sponsorship. The company works closely with its stable of professional riders to develop gear like the Alpha One and Sahara lines. By testing gear in the most rigorous of riding situations, the team at Moose Offroad gets valuable information that helps guide the design process.

“For us, we don’t really have a development department,” notes Moose Offroad’s Carl VanNiekerk. “We use the race program in a big way for developing and are always changing and improving the gear fit, feel and quality. The race program is a big part of the development of the gear for sure.”

In other words, the riders are the development department. Who better to know what materials and fit are best? For the racers, it’s a unique opportunity to shape future gear, but it’s a lot of fun, too.

“We’d send them the samples and tell them hey, beat on this and tell us what’s great and what [isn’t],” VanNiekerk explains.

It was that kind of relationship that helped perfect the Sahara jersey and pants. Designed for the hottest of riding conditions, the jersey is made from a lightweight polyester mesh that is fully vented for maximum airflow. An athletic fit ensures even the most active competitors have a full range of movement, but it’s not so loose that it flaps in the wind.

Like the jersey, the Sahara pants have ventilated polyester mesh in strategic areas. At the same time, durability is a must. The inner knees have full-grain leather panels, and stretch panels ensure flex in key areas.

Even with 10 championships to celebrate, VanNiekerk is quick to note that social media has changed how brands and dealers can use those accomplishments to their advantage. “The age-old saying is win on Sunday, sell on Monday, but with the age of social media, if it’s not right there and then in front of your face, it’s forgotten by Monday,” he says.

Moose Offroad’s social media helps make sure those wins are right up front, and dealers can take advantage of the posts by following along and sharing on Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. ■

RACHEL “QUEEN OF ENDURO” GUTISH WRAPS CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON CORONATION DAY

The season didn’t start out the way Rachel Gutish wanted when her factory ride vanished, leaving her without a ride after the season had already begun, Gutish was unsure if she could even be competitive in 2025. Little did she know she was at the cusp of a pinnacle season that would see the Moose Offroad athlete claim two national enduro championships, a grand national championship, an EnduroCross championship, another Women’s World Trophy win at ISDE, and become the first American to win an FIM EnduroGP world championship.

According to Gutish, enduring the rocky beginning was well worth the honor being touted as the Queen of Enduro after a season of accomplishment that is unlikely to be matched. “I certainly do not remember January, February, March as a ‘rainbows and sunshine’ part of my life,” said Gutish. “I can’t say I’m unhappy about it, because if all of that hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t be sitting here talking about having won the EnduroGP title. Looking back, it’s all worth the stress.”

It was a call from Spanish OEM Rieju that changed everything, and a late-season factory ride in Europe coupled with support from Rieju USA that allowed Rachel to wage battle on both sides of the Atlantic in 2025. “I owe everything that has happened this year to Rieju and their willingness to find support for me in April. Getting support in April is simply not heard of,” said Gutish. “So even though I was basically a privateer at all three of the North American championships I won this year, I could have not done it without Mark Berg, Rieju USA and Rieju Spain. How do you show enough appreciation for the people who made it possible for you to go make history? You can’t.”

Being a factory racer in Europe and operating as a privateer in the United States was an interesting balance for Rachel (and her father) but the veteran rider was able to make the best of things and find the humor in the contrast. “I go to Europe and I land and I’m a factory rider. Bike’s ready, mechanic’s ready, everyone’s catering to my every need. They cook me lunch. It’s fantastic. Then I’m at a National Enduro sleeping in a hammock in the back of my van and we’re like the Beverly Hillbillies of pro

Moose Offroad-supported rider Rachel Gutish made history, becoming the first American ever to win an FIM EnduroGP World Championship.

row,” said Gutish with a laugh. “I don’t want to come across as ungrateful because like I said, they saved me. They saved my career, my ability to go do this really cool thing. But you could say that all the racing in the U.S. was a labor of love.”

Along with the AMA National Enduro Championship, Rachel decided to add the Canadian Corduroy Enduro to that “labor,” where she was able to claim another national championship at the single-round event.

“The Corduroy Enduro has an excellent women’s purse. It was a payday for me, that was the main reason I went. But also, the Corduroy National is super fun. It’s like an old-school

technical hard enduro, very up my alley. Plus, there was a part of me that realized if my season went the way I hoped, I could do exactly what I’ve managed to do: Win the EnduroGP title, win the American National Enduro title, win the EnduroCross title, win the Canadian National Enduro and also the Tennessee Knock Out, which is a Grand National. So, I won five different disciplines of Enduro in three different countries on two different continents. Which is a hell of an accomplishment!”

Gutish calls the EnduroGP world championship the highest mark on her wall. The veteran rider had come so close the year before, finishing second in the women’s division, but left Europe not knowing when or how she could make another run at the title. “I wanted nothing more than to go back to EnduroGP. I felt like I had been so close and I knew so much now, I could definitely do this,” said Gutish. With Rieju, she became the first American in history, man or woman, to claim an EnduroGP world championship.

“I know that this will be the crowning achievement of my career. Quite possibly the most impactful thing I do with my life. Because I can go win the title again – I certainly plan to – but there’s only one time you get to be the first to do it. We have had the highwater mark, and I’m actually okay with that. It’s almost like I feel a sense of contentment that I’ve never really had. I feel like I did what I was put here to do, so I can be okay with whatever comes next.”

Among continents, countries and national championships, Gutish has racked up wins and titles with the unwavering support of Moose Offroad.

“Very rarely have I had a sponsor who stood behind me no matter what happened,” said Gutish. “Carl [van Niekerk] and the people there are amazing. It’s having people like that in my corner that makes it all possible. They have supported me through everything. I’m glad it finally paid off.” ■

Among her list of accomplishments in 2025, Moose Offroad’s Rachel Gutish and her teammates — Moose Offroad rider Brandy Richards and Korie Steede -- won Team USA’s third-consecutive ISDE Women’s World Trophy Championship.

KEEPING IT IN THE FAMILY

“I started helping my dad spinning wrenches in service when I was in my teens,” Jason says. “In fact, I bought my first toolbox when I was 15.”

need their powersports vehicles serviced. Parts Unlimited has been there every step of the way.

Jason’s father Greg was an avid snowmobile racer participating in drag racing, ice racing and Snocross. As many powersports enthusiasts do, he eventually turned his passion into a business.

THE SLED SHOP

“It all started in the garage at home,” Jason recalls. “I remember being at home, working on sleds, having people drop off their snowmobiles, and all of the things that happen at a home business.”

In the beginning, the business (dubbed The Sled Shop) was known as an Arctic Cat specialist. Greg, often times with young Jason’s assistance, serviced and modified snowmobiles from his garage shop using aftermarket parts and accessories, many of which came from Greg’s friend Tim Berg who owned a company called Black Magic that dealt in snowmobile performance parts.

Then, in 1995, Greg stepped up his game and moved the business to a building on Main Street in Racine, Minnesota (population: 558). While servicing and modifying snowmobiles was still the primary part of the business, the newly available room allowed him to expand his operation by servicing many of the motorcycles and ATVs that could be found in the rural southern Minnesota community.

“A few years later, in the early 2000s, we were looking to pick up some summertime pursuits, so we bought some motocross bikes and a box van and began going to our local tracks, Spring Creek Motocross Park and Berm Benders Raceway,” Jason says. “There were a couple of businesses that would be at the tracks selling parts and accessories, so we kind of took that same mentality, packed up the box van, and started selling parts at the tracks between our races. So that’s initially what spurred our move into the off-road motorcycle market.”

A TURNING POINT

Greg was diagnosed with cancer in late 2006 and passed away in June 2008.

“At that time, I was a 21-year-old kid who had worked at the shop for the past six or seven years and had learned a

Vaith Cycle keeps a great selection of parts and accessories aimed at its core audience, off-road riders. Parts Unlimited has been a part of Vaith Cycle's story since the beginning.
Vaith Cycle's roots trace all the way back to the small snowmobile repair shop started by Jason Vaith's late father, Greg, dubbed the Sled Shop.

lot from my dad, although more on the mechanical side rather than the business end,” Jason says. “So, it was quite the learning curve for a young guy who needed to hire an attorney, launch an LLC, and start his own thing. It forced me to grow up really quick.”

The timing couldn’t have been worse. The economic downturn that occurred in 2008/2009 forced Jason to downsize to a smaller building and become financially savvy in an effort to keep his costs low.

“We moved two doors down to a smaller, 2,300-square-foot building that was a former gas station and was outfitted

with a service bay,” Jason says. “It was a building we were able to purchase, so other than utilities and property tax, the overhead was really low.

“I really put my nose to the grindstone and worked hard in that little shop for almost 10 years working on snowmobiles, dirtbikes, ATVs and UTVs. Dave Wappler, our Parts Unlimited rep who set my dad up in 1995, worked with me to keep overhead low and do the best we could, all while still going to the motocross track and selling parts, accessories and apparel as an independent shop.”

Jason’s diligence paid off.

VAITH CYCLE

A decade later in 2018 Jason moved the business that was now called Vaith Cycle from that second Main Street location to a property in Racine along Hwy 63, a main traffic artery in southern Minnesota. This is where it is currently located and, after an addition in 2021, Vaith Cycle now boasts 8,500 square feet.

“We have a really nice showroom with the bikes front-andcenter, and we have a beautiful five-bay service area that we pride ourselves in keeping clean,” he says. “We came to this building with it as a blank canvas, and that allowed me to really build the shop of my dreams.”

While Jason floats between departments, the dealership is further staffed by General Manager Brent Swygman, “who does a bit of everything,” two technicians and a parts specialist.

Despite its rural location, Vaith Cycle is a mere eight miles south of the Rochester, Minnesota airport. Rochester is the third most populous city in Minnesota and home to the world-renowned Mayo Clinic.

In 2021, Jason picked up his first franchise when he partnered with GASGAS.

“It was a pretty selective line of just off-road models, but we hit the ground running with it and sold a bunch of motorcycles and had a bunch of success,” he says. “They were really happy with what we were doing, so in 2024 they asked us whether we wanted to bring Husqvarna into the mix too.

“Since 2008, we’ve become even more active in the motocross community here, and now have a semi that we take to the track to sell parts, accessories and apparel, change tires, all of that stuff. So, these two brands really work well for us.”

What type of Husqvarna and GASGAS models sell in southern Minnesota?

“We sell primarily competition cross-country bikes, harescramble type bikes, and motocross bikes,” he says. “But, while we’re primarily an off-road retailer, with the addition of Husqvarna we’re now seeing more interest in dual sport and Adventure touring and trying to develop a little more street-bike business.

“Also, as a side note, when Husqvarna and GASGAS started getting into E-mountain bikes a couple of years ago, we jumped in and have also had a ton of really, really good success with them. Even this year, we’ve retailed more bicycles than we have motorcycles – and we sell a lot of motorcycles.”

Vaith Cycle usually has 30 to 35 new motorcycles on the sales floor in addition to a handful of pre-owned vehicles, including sleds, motorcycles, ATVs and UTVs from major brands.

But Vaith Cycle’s customer base isn’t just local, it’s regional. Due to its longtime activity in the race scene, and with Spring Creek MX and Berm Benders MX consistently drawing riders from Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas and Iowa – as well as national talent – Jason has been able to develop new customers and relationships from across state lines.

“Our track-side development takes a ton of work and a ton of weekends – probably 17 weekends every summer – but because we are there it generates a third of our business,” Jason says. “We’ll even take motorcycles home from the track, order parts during the week, service the bikes, and deliver them back to the customer ready to rip at the track the following weekend.”

As a GASGAS and Husqvarna dealer, Vaith Cycle primary sells competition cross-country, motocross and hare-scramble machines. The store has also been growing its dual-sport and Adventure bike sales.

ADVERTISING

Vaith Cycle did some television advertising when they moved into the new location to promote their presence and their new building.

“That worked well, but we’re kind of pulling back from that a little bit and are going to start building our social media presence and do some grassroots marketing,” Jason says. “Ultimately, we already have an active customer base. They own motorcycles, they race them, they trail ride them, and we’re often right there with them with our 53-foot billboard of a truck doing our own self-promotion and networking.”

A 4.8 Google review from more than 50 respondents doesn’t hurt either. What spurs those stellar reviews?

“We care,” he says. “We treat the customer’s equipment the way we would want ours to be treated while doing quality service with quality products like those from Parts Unlimited.”

30 YEARS WITH PARTS UNLIMITED

How important are Parts Unlimited vendors to Vaith Cycle?

“Parts Unlimited has, by far, always been our biggest distributor, and we’ve always appreciated our relationship with them,” Jason says. “They’ve been a great company to do business with, and I have always appreciated their black-and-white sales tactics. We always know what the program is, and we always know what we’re getting. Our Parts rep Dave set us up from the beginning and has been with us ever since, so he’s been a big part of that.

“And, again, with our presence at the track and wanting to sell quality products, Parts Unlimited has all of the quality and reputable brands. Also, with the Parts warehouse in Janesville, WI, we get one-day service from them which is of course super beneficial.”

“I met Jason’s father in the late ’90s when he was starting a snowmobile repair shop,” says Dave Wappler, their Parts Unlimited sales rep. “Moto was really strong, and so he pivoted to offer trackside support at the racetrack. But, shortly after, he got cancer and passed. Jason, just 21 at the time, took over the business and has continued to grow it exponentially. Customer-focused and heavily involved in the industry, he is a loyal customer of mine and exceeds at many levels.”

What does the future hold for family-owned Vaith Cycle?

Jason Vaith has two daughters. While still too young to collect a paycheck, they’re already firmly entrenched in the business.

“My youngest, Penelope, is 6 and has a little GASGAS e-dirt bike, and Fiona my oldest is 9 and will be making the transition to a 65cc GASGAS next year,” he says. “They’re not racers – yet. But of course, they are at the track with us frequently and love motorcycles so I’m very fortunate for that.” ■

Since launching its trackside business in the early 2000s, Vaith Cycle has grown this effort to the point that it generates a third of its business.
As a GASGAS and Husqvarna dealer, Vaith Cycle carries the OEM's E-mountain bike models to great success. In 2025 alone, Vaith says, "Even this year, we've retailed more bicycles than we have motorcycles - and we sell a lot of motorcycles."

Durable Gear for the Whole Moto Family New Mode Unlocked

STHOR’s new Ridemode racewear features the company’s legendary performance and style in a budgetfriendly range.

taying stagnant is the antithesis of evolution, which is why you can always expect to see the next generation of riding gear coming from THOR. Ridemode is the latest addition to THOR’s lineup, focusing on versatility and comfort with a foundation inspired by the proven Launchmode line.

The Ridemode collection marks another new offering from THOR, filling the space THOR’s Sector collection previously did, and bringing its modern branding and innovation in a budget-focused form.

“We are excited for this evolutionary step within THOR’s budget-minded products,” says Josh Shorter, Global

Brand Director. “Sector was a very successful apparel line over the years and Ridemode is going to push the category even further. We spent over a year developing the Launchmode racewear collection for our midrange and figured that it would be a benefit to all to offer those great fitting pant and jersey chassis in scaledback versions at an excellent price point. Thus, Ridemode was born.”

Versatility is the hero trait for Ridemode with designs optimized for men, women and young riders that offer durable and comfortable performance from the track to the trail. Ridemode’s material composition and size specification are influenced by its Launchmode sibling, but offering a more relaxed fit, covering a broad demographic of riders.

Across every Ridemode kit, riders will appreciate materials chosen for their airflow and moisture wicking properties that move with the body and remain durable in all the important places. Getting down to it, THOR describes Ridemode as “race-inspired fit and function in a practical, affordable package.”

In this case, affordability is a major benefit that doesn’t come with any drawbacks. Construction of Ridemode pants and jerseys feature quick-dry, polyester fabrics that wick moisture away in all types of riding conditions. High-wear areas are strategically designed and built to hold up to repeated use thanks to robust material and reinforced stitching.

With the durability box checked, next on the list is mobility. Ridemode jerseys move with the rider and stay where they need to be with hybrid sleeves and a drop-tail design. The pants are built with a pre-curved shape that fits and flows naturally with movement on the bike. Plus, stretch panels are strategically integrated to provide flex without sacrificing durability.

Men’s Ridemode kits will have customers looking fresh with sleek-yet-standout colors, including Orange and Gray, Red and White, Blue and Gray and Black and Gray. No matter what color machine they’re riding, there’s an option that will have them feeling factory.

Riding is a family matter with Ride mode, offering purpose-designed women’s and youth jerseys and pants as well. The key to women’s Ride mode is the tailored fit. Each piece is designed for a more natural and precise fit for female riders, inspiring comfortable motion and confident performance. Ladies will appreciate the looks, too, with two distinct col orways that deliver a clean and fast image that’s just feminine enough without being over the top.

Little rippers have just as much to gain from Ridemode, mirroring the men’s line with four colorways of jerseys and pants all designed to fit a wide range of young riders. The same comfort and durability will keep them

on the track and trail as they grow, from 2XS all the way to XL sizing.

Proper fit is a common theme across all THOR gear, which is why Ridemode jerseys and pants are available in a wide range of sizes. Men’s jersey sizes cover small through 4XL and men’s pants span 28 to 48. Women’s and youth Ridemode also offer sizes that will cover nearly any customer, maximizing dealers’ ability to offer something to anyone who walks through the door.

Riders know that no gear line is complete without gloves and Ridemode delivers a balanced feel and mobility enhancing coverage for customers’ hands. Flexibility is the first thing riders will notice when they slip them on thanks to a fitted stretch backhand panel and fourway stretch gussets. Topped with a solid wrist closure and silicone on the lever fingers, control looks good with Ridemode gloves in four different available colors.

It’s no small feat to create a gear line that fits the budget-friendly category without sacrificing consistent performance standards, all while tailoring to a versatile group of riders. Then again, THOR’s first-hand experience and connection with customers has had decades of seat time to develop. Encourage your customers to experience Ridemode in their upcoming season. ■

Fog Fighter Lighting for All Off-Road Conditions

Products popular with off-road riders tend to be different than those preferred by V-Twin enthusiasts, but the Shark Demon headlights from Custom Dynamics became a true crossover lighting solution that riders on both sides are raving about. Now, Custom Dynamics has Shark Demon fog lights as well as a rock guard and a wiring harness for all off-road applications.

“Our growing Shark Demon lighting lineup gives riders the aggressive style they crave and the quality they can trust,” says Custom Dynamics Chief Sales Officer Rob Bluma. “With rugged construction and customizable options, these products let riders personalize their builds without sacrificing durability or performance.”

The new Shark Demon High Performance Universal LED Fog Light Kit is ideal for off-road vehicles and motorcycles alike. Like the road-going Shark Demon headlight, this fog light’s gloss-black aluminum housing has fins and exposed screws for an aggressive, industrial look.

The LED Shark Demon fog light kit includes an 82-inch wire lead for maximum installation options, plus a 3mm stainless steel bracket. This U-bracket is engineered for durability while also providing plenty of mounting options, making it suitable for everything from Adventure bikes to side-by-side vehicles.

Since it is a universal fit, that means the Shark Demon fog light needs plenty of adjustability to suit the situation. An adjustable assembly design allows the beam angle to be fine-tuned, ensuring a perfect aim. And, once it’s installed

Custom Dynamics’ new Shark Demon High Performance Universal LED Fog Light Kit is ideal for off-road vehicles and motorcycles alike. The kit includes an 82-inch wire lead, plus a 3mm stainless steel bracket that provides plenty of mounting options.

and adjusted, the fog light has an impressive 2070 raw lumens (1040 effective lumens), making it bright and efficient.

“Our fog light kit is truly a complete solution,” explains Bluma. “Whether you’re running a single unit or wiring several in series for maximum illumination and that bold look, it’s built to fit the needs of off-road builders. We highly recommend combining both yellow and white lights for the best effect, and with our 5-to-1 wire harness, you can easily wire up to five lights.”

That lens choice makes combining the lights easy. By choosing a white/clear lens, riders get a bright beam that resembles daylight. Meanwhile, a selective yellow lens is the best choice for fog, rain, dust and snow conditions. And, no matter which lens a rider chooses, they can be confident in its ability to withstand off-road conditions thanks to a scratch-resistant polycarbonate lens.

Riders who want even more of a barrier against the hazards of off-road riding can opt for the rock guard. Built specifically for the Shark Demon LED fog light, the guard is made from a hard-coated polycarbonate for outstanding impact resistance.

To accommodate multiple Shark Demon fog lights, a Multi-Light 5-to-1 Shark Demon Fog Light Wire Harness is a plug-and-play connector that powers up to five lights with the simple snap of a connector lead. ■

Spirited Riding Sport-Touring

Tires for a Labrador Adventure

When he set out for a week-long tour of Labrador, longtime Avon Tyres fan Scott Cameron opted for a set of Spirt ST tires for his Yamaha FJR 1300. They were the right choice for taking on a couple hundred kilometers of unpaved road and rapidly changing weather.

Labrador isn’t quite the wild country it used to be, says Scott Cameron. There are a lot more paved roads, making it easier to tour one of the most scenic areas of Canada. Even still, there are a couple hundred kilometers of unpaved roads to tackle, plus changeable weather to deal with. It’s why Cameron chose to make his week-long tour of Labrador on a set of Avon Spirit ST tires.

Cameron, who lives in Nova Scotia, says the Spirit ST tires for his Yamaha FJR 1300 were a natural choice for his trip in August. When his friends first suggested the ride, Cameron volunteered to take the lead since he’s toured Labrador before. Preplanning was a big part of his role.

As an avid motorcyclist, Scott Cameron has long been running Avon tires on his bikes. Each time those tires offer a perfect blend of performance, durability and price.

Cameron has an impressive riding history that spans about 50 years, going back to his days riding a dirtbike as a kid. Since then, he’s done extensive touring, and he’s spent time doing both roadracing and land speed racing. Across all of it, he’s counted on Avon tires to get him to where he wanted to go, whether that was a trip from Nova Scotia to Alaska or setting a land-speed record.

In all, Cameron has logged more than 400,000km – nearly a quarter of a million miles – on Avon tires. He remembers doing research on tires when it was time to replace the set on a new bike, and Avon stood out as having the right blend of performance, durability and price.

“ In all, Cameron has logged more than 400,000km –nearly a quarter of a million miles – on Avon tires.”

“There was a decision in what everyone was going to take for tires, and I’ve been running Avons for a long time on my bikes,” Cameron says. “It wasn’t a matter of brand, but which tire model I was going to take.”

In the end, he chose the Spirit STs, and Cameron notes, “The Spirits did a fantastic job, which was really no surprise. I can’t say enough. They’re just a fantastic tire. I’ve promoted them very strongly to a lot of my riding buddies on various bikes. They’re a great all-around tire, and extremely predictable.”

“I knew what I was going to get out of them for mileage, and I knew what the handling would be,” Cameron says. “I like the road less traveled, and I knew they’d be spirited.”

Big trips like this most recent excursion to Labrador are typically once-a-year events. In the meantime, Cameron does a lot of riding around Nova Scotia, the Maritimes and New England. His next big trip will likely be in Europe. ■

Riding Dry Waterproof Gear for All-Weather Riding

Your customers will stay comfortable and dry in ICON’s PDX3 waterproof jacket and pants. Both are made from waterproof Hycor and feature plenty of venting. D3O armor in the shoulders, elbow and back protect against impacts.

Just because it’s no longer summer doesn’t mean there aren’t still plenty of good riding days in the coming months. However, with colder temperatures and typically wetter weather, gearing up properly is a must. ICON helps riders stay dry and comfortable with a range of waterproof gear, including the Stormhawk boot and PDX3 jacket, pant and glove.

Since ICON is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, the team there knows a thing or two about riding in the wet. The Stormhawk waterproof boot is a must for changing weather conditions. The leather upper is water-resistant, while the eVent liner is both waterproof and breathable. That means the boots look great while also remaining comfortable, even on warmer days.

Every little detail was considered for the Stormhawk boot, like the aggressively lugged outsole for maximum traction, shifter interface nubs and D3O inserts on the ankles for an extra guard against mishaps.

“The Stormhawk boot really sets the tone for what we mean by all-weather gear,” says ICON Senior Designer John Whitaker. “It’s got to be comfortable enough for all-day wear, tough enough to take a hit and waterproof enough to survive a full Pacific Northwest winter.”

The challenge, Whitaker notes, is incorporating all those layers of protection – against both the asphalt and the elements – without sacrificing comfort. Making sure the boot flexes naturally when walking or shifting is a key part of making the Stormhawk an overall superb riding boot.

“It’s not about checking boxes, it’s about making something you actually want to wear every day, rain or shine, because you know it’s going to hold up,” Whitaker adds.

That same meticulous attention to detail went into designing the PDX3 waterproof jacket, pant and glove. The jacket and pant are made from waterproof Hycor. To keep things from getting steamy under the jacket, pit zips provide venting. The insulated vest inside is removable, too, and there is D3O armor in the shoulders, elbows and back.

The PDX3 pant has an overpant cut with full-length inseam zippers. High-abrasion areas have 300d poly reinforcements, and the D3O impact protectors in the knees cap things off.

To round things out, a pair of PDX3 gloves keeps hands dry with a waterproof, breathable Hipora insert. The Ax Laredo palm adds durability, and the four-way stretch backhand keeps things comfortable. Up top, the knuckles are covered by D3O armor.

Whitaker points out that waterproof gear is about more than adding a waterproof membrane to a design. He says, “We build around how water really moves on the body, where it pools, where it sneaks in, and how it behaves at speed. That’s the difference between ‘waterproof’ on paper and waterproof on a five-hour ride home in the rain.” ■

Next-Gen Dirt Digger Dirtbike Clutch Kits

Each Barnett Dirt Digger clutch kit includes everything needed for a clutch upgrade, including its C22 Carbon or K22 Kevlar friction plates, tempered steel drive plates and heavy-duty springs.

As a leader in American-made motorcycle clutches and cables since 1948, Barnett, today, is a trusted choice for off-road racers and hobbyists. Purpose-built for motocross, enduro and desert racing, Dirt Digger clutches deliver smoother engagement, exceptional heat dissipation and superior fade resistance. Each kit combines Barnett’s exclusive friction materials with precision-ground, tempered-steel drive plates and heat-treated, pre-set springs for optimal clutch pressure, power transfer and long-term reliability. Barnett first introduced its Kevlar-based friction plates to the industry back in 1991, and today the company continues to improve its friction material formula, as evidenced by its latest iteration of K22 Kevlar and C22 Carbon-based friction plates. According to Barnett, these latest friction materials have greater heat tolerance, resulting in more consistent, fade-free performance and improved power transfer to the rear wheel.

Barnett’s Dirt Digger clutches help riders better control the horsepower of modern dirtbikes by delivering usable power to the ground. The company’s clutch baskets are also a major upgrade over stock.

“Off-road riders push their machines to the limit, and we’ve built a clutch that can take it,” explains Chris Taylor, Marketing Director for Barnett. “Dirt Digger Clutches give racers smoother engagement, longer life and the confidence to stay on the gas. Our off-road products continue to be produced in-house at our Southern California facility from exclusive materials, with cutting-edge designs. We’re continuously searching for ways to refine and improve them for better engagement, fade-free performance and with a longer product lifecycle.”

Barnett’s Dirt Digger clutches help riders better control the horsepower of modern dirtbikes by delivering usable power to the ground, enabling riders of every skill level to tackle technical terrain with more precision and less distraction. With fitments for a wide range of dirtbikes –from modern 450s and 2-strokes to vintage rippers – Dirt Digger clutch kits are built for competition in any terrain, with many new fitments added and currently available for Beta, GASGAS, Husqvarna and KTM models. Each kit is pre-measured for proper stack height before packaging for drop-in-ready installation. ■

Supersport Expansion

New Tires for Road and Track

Attendees at this year’s EICMA show in Milan had some new tires to check out in the Metzeler display, including the SPORTEC 01 and SPORTEC 01 RS supersport tires.

These two new options are worthy additions to Metzeler’s SPORTEC line. For more than a decade, the SPORTEC range of supersport tires has given riders the right blend of handling, grip and versatility. Thanks to excellent characteristics even in wet weather, the SPORTEC family of tires are ideal for enthusiasts who ride in all conditions.

With the addition of the SPORTEC 01 and the SPORTEC 01 RS, Metzeler has raised the bar for what a SPORTEC supersport tire is capable of achieving. Designed for riders who crave both high performance and reliability, these tires feature the latest Metzeler design breakthroughs, materials and technologies to provide a premium riding experience.

“The SPORTEC line has always represented confidence, and the new 01 and 01 RS elevate that legacy with an adaptive tread pattern that grips in the wet and stays planted at high speed,” said Brian Davenport, Metzeler Tires. “Dealers can now meet every rider’s need with a single family of tires—SPORTEC 01 for all-weather performance and 01 RS for riders who commute during the week and want track-ready performance on weekends.”

Both of the new tires feature Metzeler’s patented DYNATREAD technology, which allows for an adaptive tread pattern that improves grip and stability at high speed. This technology has already been proven on the Metzeler ROADTEC 02, and now, it is making its debut in the supersport segment.

The SPORTEC 01 tire is the successor to the SPORTEC M9 RR, which means it’s a great choice for sporty road use in a variety of riding conditions, thanks to solid performance even in wet weather. In addition, the SPORTEC 01 also has the kind of mileage street riders are looking for.

Meanwhile, the SPORTEC 01 RS takes the performance factor up a notch, so it’s an ideal choice for both street riding and track days. The high levels of grip give riders the confidence they need in the corners. For track day enthusiasts, the same tires used for getting to the track are just as capable on the track, making this a versatile choice for riders who want to tackle both.

Metzeler is offering the SPORTEC 01 in 2 front and 6 rear sizes. For the SPORTEC 01 RS, there is 1 front and 4 rear size options. ■

Adding to the Team Meet AMS

Brand Manager Dylan Titus

Whatever ATV, UTV or off-road bike your customers ride, AMS has tires to fit it. With proven performers like the M2 Evil, Blacktail, and recently released All Terrain for ATV and UTV drivers and the Bite MX for offroad riders, there’s no shortage of excellent, affordable options. To help you better understand the AMS catalog and get your customers matched with the right rubber, AMS has hired a new brand manager, Dylan Titus.

Dylan started with AMS in September after spending three years rising through the ranks at the Parts Unlimited warehouse in Janesville, Wisconsin. Longtime AMS salesman Jimmy White and Parts Unlimited regional sales manager Greg Stilwell ushered Dylan into the role, and Dylan is excited to be part of the AMS team.

Top of mind for Dylan are the M2 Evil, Blacktail, and All Terrain, three ATV/UTV tires that come in a wide range of sizes and tread patterns to meet all of your customers’ needs.

“I’m really excited about the All Terrain,” he says. “It’s really more of a truck tire than a UTV tire, which means it handles really well and doesn’t grab the trail and jerk your wheel back and forth.” The All Terrain is aimed at hard, rocky, fast trails and prioritizes a smooth ride, solid handling, and quiet operation with tighter tread spacing, a narrower footprint, and a rounder profile.

“As smooth and comfortable as this tire is, you can really beat them up,” Dylan says. The All Terrain has a beefy 8-ply carcass to support today’s big and powerful rigs, and uses a dual-compound tread cap with tread lugs that extend

“This is a great opportunity, and an exciting time to be in the industry because ATV and UTV is such a growing market,” Dylan says. As the brand manager, Dylan covers the lower 48 and will spend much of his time visiting dealers alongside Parts Unlimited sales reps. “Many shops know AMS and have a lot of success with our products, and then there are a few that aren’t as familiar,” he says. “My job is to make sure all the dealers have the right info and smooth out any issues they may face.”

When Dylan is on the road, he’ll be highlighting some of AMS’s best products for the massive ATV and UTV market.

down the sidewall. This gives the All Terrains a distinct appearance and gives your customers extra rim protection.

“AMS is in a great spot to help dealers help their customers, and I’m excited to be part of this team,” Dylan says. You can look forward to a visit from Dylan in 2026, and in the meantime, get familiar with AMS’s extensive catalog of tires so you can get your customers rolling on the right rubber. ■

As the new brand manager for AMS, Dylan Titus covers the lower 48 states. He will spend his time visiting dealers with their Parts Unlimited sales reps helping to educate them about the company’s growing lineup of tires.
The AMS M2 Evil tires are just some of the tires in the company’s range of UTV tires. Built for tough conditions, they were put to the test at the recent Parts Unlimited Dealer Ride in Deadwood, South Dakota by Parts dealer Cody Willenborg.

XRE’s features create a perfect balance between high tensile strength, light weight and maximizing long wear life so that XRE can handle most anything thrown at them.

RK recommends that your techs and customers use a cleaner specific to motorcycle chains and is designed to be used on sealed chains. Do not use brake cleaner, engine cleaner or any cleaner that contains acid or caustic chemicals. These harsh ingredients can damage the chain’s seals, reducing the performance and wear life of the chain and will void the chain’s warranty.

Options for Commutes and Competition

Whether it’s a commute to work on a scooter or an Adventure ride miles away from paved roads, no one wants to deal with a flat tire. For tube-type tires, Mitas Motorcycle Tires has durable, reliable tubes in a wide range of sizes and styles. For those who stick closer to home and riders on a true excursion – and everything in between – Mitas Tires has a tube for it.

Mitas offers its tubes in sizes that range from 8 inches to 21 inches, covering a wide range of motorcycles, scooters and mopeds. Each tube is constructed from a high-quality butyl compound that is a big step up from a standard rubber tube.

“Mitas motorcycle tubes are manufactured from high-quality butyl compound, ensuring excellent air retention and resistance to punctures,” says Robert Walker, National Sales Manager North America for Mitas Motorcycle Tires. “This material choice provides superior elasticity and durability compared to conventional rubber, making it ideal for both everyday commuting and extreme off-road conditions.”

The valves are premium quality, as well. For tires that require a simple straight valve, the TR4 and TR6 valves available with Mitas tubes feature galvanized stems, metal components and rubber caps, all designed for secure fitment and easy maintenance.

For those who need an angled valve, there are three JS Series options available. These angled valves can accommodate specific rim configurations, offering more flexibility when it comes to which wheels will work with a tube-type tire setup.

While Mitas tubes are designed for everything from scooters to Adventure bikes, that doesn’t mean every type of riding needs the same style of tube. The company offers three levels of tube to match the kind of riding a customer plans to do. Standard Duty tubes have a 1.5mm thickness that is ideal for everyday use on the road. This means everything from short rides to light Touring.

Mitas offers its high-quality butyl tubes in sizes that range from 8 inches to 21 inches, covering a wide range of motorcycles, scooters and mopeds. The material provides excellent air retention and puncture resistance.

For riders who are doing some Adventure-Touring and might be getting off the pavement and onto gravel or dirt roads from time to time, the Heavy Duty tubes have a 2.0mm thickness for an extra level of protection against punctures and pinch flats.

The 4.0mm Ultra Heavy Duty tubes are for the most extreme off-road riding, including enduro and motocross

competition. Riders who expect to encounter rocky terrain or other intense off-road conditions will want to choose these tubes for ultimate confidence.

Each tube is packaged individually in a nitrogen-rich atmosphere, which extends shelf life by reducing oxidation and material degradation. ■

MITAS TUBES

Built for durability and performance, Mitas motorcycle tubes are engineered to handle the toughest terrains and the longest rides.

Fthe historic town of Deadwood, South Dakota is well-known in the V-Twin world as a popular spot during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Well, for its 2025 Dealer Ride, Parts Unlimited came along and flipped the script a bit, using the town associated with such Old West figures as Wyatt Earp, Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok, as the staging ground for the Buffalo Stampede.

For three days in October a fleet of custom and stock sideby-sides, Adventure bikes, off-road machines and metric street bikes explored the rocky trails, hills and miles of scene highways of South Dakota’s western flank.

Like all Parts Unlimited Dealer Rides, the Buffalo Stampede was an invitation-only ride open to Parts dealers who qualified through the company’s specific sales programs. For the 2025 adventure in the Black Hills of South Dakota, the ride attracted about 170 dealers, reps and vendors – a massive turnout!

kicked off the first day with the popular Rider Roundup/ Vendor Row at the Days of ’76 Event Complex, home to the historic town’s legendary rodeo. While a chilly rainstorm kept most huddled under the massive event tent, that didn’t stop dealers from making the rounds with the sponsoring vendors to check out the latest new products, talk shop and get their hands on coveted free swag.

For the Buffalo Stampede, the Parts Unlimited goodie bags were overflowing with branded hats, specially made T-Shirts, goggles, signs, stickers and other promotional items that vendors brought to hand out. Dealers, vendors, reps and LeMans event staff wrapped up the day with a welcome reception and dinner, an excellent opportunity for everyone to catch up and plan out the first day’s rides.

Here’s the thing about the Black Hills and region surrounding Deadwood and nearby Sturgis. There’s no shortage of great

riding loops and the event staff had assembled a number of great trips for all participants, whether they were on two wheels or four. In the mix were trips to check out Mount Rushmore, the Devil’s Tower just across the border into Wyoming, and countless trails through the Black Hills National Forest.

For two full days of adventure, the Buffalo Stampede participants took the chance to step back from their everyday business and enjoy some great riding – one thing that so many in the powersports business lament that they don’t get enough of. Day one also included a special lunch at Legend Suspensions in nearby Sturgis, where the company laid out a great spread of tacos and sides. Luckily for everyone, the weather held out for both riding days.

As always, the Parts Unlimited Buffalo Stampede wrapped up with the now-famous farewell banquet. Master of ceremonies

Rob Buydos takes charge of the evening that is a chance to enjoy drinks and dinner and bench race and regale one another with tales from the trails. You can bet that some memories were made on the trip, many of which will likely become fodder for future Parts events. The evening also includes an awards ceremony where some fun honors are given out for ride mishaps and shows of bravery – don’t forget the perennial Gumby and Pokey awards!

The biggie, of course, is the Buffalo Stampede Dealers of the Year award, which for 2025 was presented to Brad Gaffney and Todd Prien of Monroe Motorsports in Monroe, Wisconsin.

While the location of the 2026 Parts Unlimited Dealer Ride has not yet been revealed, now is the time to start planning for it. Talk with your Parts rep for details on how you can attend next year’s ride.

A Pioneer in Sintered Brake Pad Technology

s the originators of sintered metal brake pad technology in the powersports market, DP Brakes is proud to have been the first manufacturer to use the powder metallurgy process known as sintering in the 1970s to produce brake pads for powersports.

The benefits of sintered brake pads were immediately recognized, and the technology became the industry standard for powersports brakes with improved stopping power, better heat resistance, and longer pad life. DP Brakes focuses 100 percent of its production on sinteredmetal brake pads.

DP Brakes was not only the first to market but, to this day, remains a popular source for premium performance brake components, backed by race wins and championships from across the globe. Following Parts Unlimited’s lead, DP Brakes chooses to “Support the Sport” through its brake products for the off-road, street, American V-Twin, and ATV and UTV segments, and through its support of racers and racing events worldwide.

DP has a handful of objectives it aims to address with its sintered brake pads – to improve performance over OEM pads, deliver quieter operation without annoying squeal, and provide longer-lasting pads that fade less and won’t abuse brake rotors.

DP’s off-road line of sintered brake pads includes the OEM-replacement DP Standard and advanced SDP Pro-MX lines. DP Standard pads are aimed at everyday riders and racers who want optimal performance over

OEM units. The SDP Pro-MX line is designed for optimal performance in competition and across a diverse range of conditions. Both lines deliver longer pad life over OEM, with the sintered metal compounds used by DP lasting up to three times longer.

DP also offers three street lines: DP Standard, Sport HH+ and the RDP Titanium race material for road racing applications. DP Standard is the brand’s direct OEM replacement line of pads that offer all-around braking performance. The Sport HH+ line uses a unique sintered copper alloy friction material with an HH+ rating for more consistent, controllable stopping during fast road, track day and high-performance braking conditions. DP’s RDP Titanium line is purpose-built with a high-performance titanium compound to handle the high speeds and hard braking of sportbike road racing.

“The name DP Brakes signifies premium when it comes to braking performance, and we have the worldwide race results to back it up,” says Larry Mills, President of DP Brakes North America. “Dealers can stock the same brake pads used by top pro racers in dirt and street competitions. Not only will their customers experience a significant increase in performance, but they will also appreciate the extended life compared to OEM and other aftermarket pads. This is what customers receive when they order DP pads from Parts Unlimited.” ■

AFull Throttle on Hard Braking

Advanced Tech, Premium Stopping Power

ccording to Thomas Midtgaard-Jorgensen, Product Manager at SBS Friction A/S, “There is no room for error in motorcycle braking.” Considering that this Danish company has focused on braking performance since 1964, it’s hard to argue with his perspective.

At the core of SBS brake pads is a licensed technology called NUCAP Retention System (NRS), which does away with adhesives and uses an advanced mechanical bonding technique to seal friction material to the backing plate. Noted by the “NRS Safe” emblem on the package, SBS features NRS technology on its many lines of brake pads.

All SBS brake pads feature the NUCAP Retention System, which uses an advanced mechanical bonding technique to seal friction material to the backing plate. THE NRS features a matrix of steel hooks that grab onto the pad’s backing plate and lock the friction material in place.

Omitting the use of adhesives and brazing pastes makes NRS Safe brake pads more environmentally friendly, and also eliminates the risk of adhesives degrading under heat, moisture and salt (also called delamination).

“We are committed to going toward 100 percent NRS Safe throughout all SBS brake product lines,” says Midtgaard-

Midtgaard-Jorgensen adds that by going 100 percent NRS safe, SBS is using a highly functional mechanical attachment process that will ensure that your customers can be confident in their SBS brake pads.

Brake pads have traditionally been constructed by using adhesives to attach the friction material to the backing plate of the brake pad. The challenge with traditional adhesives is standing up to the extremes of braking, including violent vibration and severe fluctuations in heat and cooling. Since the NUCAP Retention System utilizes a mechanical bond rather than an adhesive, it reportedly eliminates these challenges.

Transform the Ride

Hard-Working Air-Adjustable Suspension for UTVs

UTVs like the Can-Am Defender and Polaris Ranger are a popular choice for work and play, and they can be even more useful and a lot more fun with a set of Legend Suspensions’ new REVO ATS. These air-adjustable shocks accommodate for varying loads to help maintain ground clearance, handling and ride quality. It’s a suspension system that works as hard as you do, and can make your customers’ UTVs even more capable.

When it comes down to it, “a lot of machines just come with oversized budget four-wheeler shocks,” says Legend Sales Team Leader Chase Weddle. “They don’t have great ride quality and can’t support much weight without compromising ground clearance and geometry.”

To solve that problem, Legend developed the REVO ATS, which features custom coil springs and air helper springs. An onboard compressor and controller allows the driver to adjust the front and rear pressure to balance and level the machine, no matter the load. Adjustable rebound damping works to match spring force to further tune the ride quality.

and corrosion. The shocks feature 46mm billet damper bodies and 16mm hard-chrome shafts, and there are spherical bearings at the mounting points to eliminate suspension bind. “The bearings allow for free movement throughout the suspension stroke,” he says. “That improves responsiveness and reduces premature wear on components — ensuring long-term reliability and consistent performance.”

Aramid-reinforced air springs let the REVO ATS deliver the best of both worlds – more comfort and better support. “The coil springs are about 20 percent softer than stock, so when you’re running low pressure it’s a really cushy ride,” Weddle says. That means smoother sailing over rough and rocky trails. Then, when it’s time to load up, there’s up to 100 PSI of additional support to keep the rig standing tall and level. Front and rear air springs can be adjusted independently, so that plow on the front or a water tank in the back won’t make the UTV drag its nose or tail.

Adjusting the air pressure is easy, too. “A really cool feature is the system’s Bluetooth controller,” Weddle says. “It allows the driver to adjust the pressure on the fly, without getting out of the cab.” The REVO ATS even has programmable memory, so presets can be set up for frequent tasks.

Function is nothing without durability, so REVO ATS components are Type-III hard anodized to resist wear

The new REVO ATS comes as a complete, ready to install kit with the shock units, a pre-mounted compressor assembly, wireless remote control, wiring harness, airline, and precision-fit air fittings. The plug-and-play design ensures a clean, straightforward install with minimal setup time. This kit is proudly assembled in Sturgis, South Dakota, and comes with a two-year warranty. ■

Stay Connected

Wave Intercom Tech Unites Friends

Technology is everywhere today, and when it works effortlessly, it can transform a ride. Sena’s innovation does exactly that. The company’s newest Wave Intercom takes communication to a new level. Wave allows groups of riders to connect seamlessly, even if some aren’t using Sena products. And the best part? It’s completely free.

Sena has long been known for helping riders stay connected no matter what brand of headset they use. The company is a pioneer of universal Bluetooth intercom and is known for forging strong strategic partnerships. The Wave Intercom is a perfect example of that.

“It bridges the gap of compatibility,” said Sean Reed, outside channel development manager for Sena Technologies. “Wave connects riders even when they’re using different systems because it relies on cellular data. If a Sena user loses service, Wave instantly pulls all Sena riders into a private mesh group.”

HOW SENA’S WAVE INTERCOM WORKS

Picture this: Four buddies are out for a weekend adventure. Three wear Sena mesh headsets and one uses another brand. With Wave, all four stay in clear communication as long as there’s cellular signal. When they hit a no-service zone, the Sena users automatically and instantly transition into a private Sena Mesh group. The non-Sena rider

will reconnect as soon as service returns. This is where Sena’s advantage becomes as clear as the spoken word.

Wave delivers unlimited range, the ability to talk to a limitless number of riders, and the freedom to use any brand of headset. It also includes features like a built-in geolocator, allowing riders to see each other’s positions in real time.

“If the group spreads out, everyone can instantly see where the others are,” Reed explained. “And in case something happens, Wave shows the last-known connection point.” This is an incredible level of flexibility and security, he added.

Wave is free for Sena users and their riding buddies. All it takes is a quick firmware update to unlock the technology on any Sena headset.

Riding groups stay connected even when someone drops out to grab fuel or take a quick break. Using Wave’s location tracking, riders can jump right back into the group with zero hassle. Powered by cellular networks and enhanced by Sena Mesh, Wave is the next-generation communication protocol redefining what group rides can be on motorcycles, UTVs, and beyond. ■

Big Air

An Airbag System for Off-Road Riding

There is always a risk involved when it comes to riding, but as technology continues to evolve, so do the products that help mitigate those risks.

Alpinestars debuted its personal airbag technology years ago, beginning in roadracing. Now, the Tech-Air MX airbag system has been introduced to serve off-road, motocross and even Supercross riders.

Alpinestars has had the Tech-Air MX – or TAMX – in development for a while, and the final test of its efficacy was on full display during the 2025 Supercross season, with some of the top riders sporting the new piece of gear.

The Tech-Air MX was specifically designed for off-road applications. Designers paid close attention to weight savings and airflow while still offering a piece that is robust enough for off-road conditions. The final result resembles

with the TAMX, you recover fast enough to laugh about it, and enjoy every ride a whole lot more.”

Knowing when an impact is imminent is a huge part of the technology in the Tech-Air MX. A series of tri-axial sensors, including three accelerometers and three gyroscopes, collect data 1,000 times per second. When those sensors detect an incoming impact, the airbag deploys in only about 40 milliseconds. It is designed to protect the rider’s full back, chest, shoulders, collarbones and neck.

The canister used to inflate the airbag bladder can be serviced and replaced by the rider, and the bladder itself is good for multiple deployments.

Off-road riding styles can vary, and the on-board computer needs to know the type of riding is being done to determine whether a rider is crashing or not. To accommodate those

Tucked into the TechAir MX is Alpinestars’ revolutionary personal airbag technology. It also features CE Level 1 chest and back passive protectors.

the Alpinestars A-4 Plasma chest protector, but there’s an airbag hidden inside, ready to deploy when needed. The CE Level 1 chest and back passive protectors built into the package further guard against impacts.

“Tech-Air has been in roadracing for over 15 years, and in street riding for over 10. To see the technology evolve into off-road, then motocross, and now even the chaos of Supercross is nothing short of next level,” says Brent Jaswinski, Sales Communications Manager for Alpinestars. “Let’s face it … simply swinging a leg over a motorcycle comes with risk. Add dirt into the mix and it’s not if you’ll take a soil sample, it’s when. Gravity is undefeated, but

differences, the Tech-Air MX system has four built-in algorithms that adjust the way information is analyzed from the sensors depending on riding style: MX, MX RACE, ENDURO and RALLY.

Riders can see and/or select which mode they are in by glancing at the LED display built into the bottom left side of the chest protector. The battery level and system status can be viewed, too. And, since the Tech-Air MX is Bluetooth enabled, all of that information and more can be accessed via the Tech-Air app. ■

Sprocket Specialist Never Bust a

Knuckle Again

Working with your hands means having cuts, bruises and callouses. Minor injuries are expected when you’re a mechanic, but Motion Pro’s new Sprocket Sidekick wrench can help your techs and DIY customers avoid one of the most unpleasant workshop mishaps: A slipped wrench that results in punching a pointed sprocket.

The Sprocket Sidekick was specifically developed to make removing rear sprocket nuts quicker and easier. “These work great for off-road bikes,” says Eric Clay, Motion Pro’s product expert. “They grip the rear fastener nuts nicely and really make sprocket changes easier compared to a traditional wrench.”

A straight wrench can be hard to maneuver behind the sprocket, and standard-length tools put knuckles precariously close to sharp teeth. Motion Pro included a generous offset into the Sidekick, so

the opposite end of the wrench is parallel with the sprocket and easy to grasp. Furthermore, the Sprocket Sidekick is extra-long, providing valuable leverage and offering a wider margin of safety for hard-working hands.

The wrench’s six-point box ends offer a secure fit and are offered in 12/13 mm or 12/14 mm to accommodate most off-road bikes. The Sidekick is made from forged steel with a satin-chrome finish, so it’s built to last and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Save some knuckles and make a risky job safer and easier with this new wrench from Motion Pro. ■

Rotors Made for Rough Terrain

Off-road bikes test brake components harder than that mean driving instructor at the DMV tests fresh-faced 16-year-olds. Way harder. Whether racing motocross, charging through the desert or navigat ing back-east woods, off-road bikes need brake pads that last, lines that respond and rotors that perform in the roughest conditions.

GBrakes makes its Off-Road Brake Rotors from 420-grade high-carbon stainless steel because it’s durable and responds well to the manufacturer’s proven treatments. After heat treatment, GBrakes performs a double disc grind to ensure flatness. “The last step in the process is our Cryo-Tech treatment,” said Sandro Milesi, CEO of GBrakes. “We’ve tested this process over the last 20 years, and it improves the density, the stability, the consistency and the life of rotors.”

One of the most important features on the GBrakes off-road rotors are the engineered cooling fins. Removing heat from a rotor is vital for high-performance riders, and the small fins attached to the inner circumference of the rotor help transfer heat off the steel for more consistent braking.

Your customers can choose rotors with round or GBrakes’ Wave style profiles, in floating or fixed setups. Debris-clearing slots and holes cut into the rotors let the pads grip stainless steel and not trail grit. The rotors are coated to prevent corrosion and environmental wear. To ensure proper fitment, GBrakes provides platform-specific rotor designs and fitments. ■

MQuick Fix

Steering Head Bearings Made Easy

otorcycle technicians know better than anyone what tools are ideal for getting a job done, which is why BikeService relies on feedback from motorcycle repair shops and even DIY riders to help hone the company’s products. Simple, straightforward tools are the goal at BikeService, and every product is developed specifically for motorcycles to make specialized service tasks easier.

The BikeService steering head bearing installer kit is designed with a quick clamp to get work done efficiently, and the setup reduces the possibility of damage during bearing installation. A heavy-duty center axle with press rings gets the bearing installed straight in one smooth motion.

“We hope our patented design can bring a better life to people,” says BikeService’s Eric Huang. “The quick clamp and special drive cover are the result of our years of experience, which greatly reduces the time consumption of the threaded system and significantly improves the work efficiency of technicians while ensuring safety.”

The steering head bearing installer kit suits bearing diameters of 41-55mm, and it eliminates the need for additional tools, like a press or impact tool. It is a small but incredibly useful item to have on hand in a service shop. High standards for quality and efficiency are a hallmark of BikeService tools, and this installer kit is no exception. ■
