ONCOLOGY CARE AT THE SHORE

The incredible work of the oncology department at Hackensack Meridian Southern Ocean Medical Center allows patients to receive quality cancer care close to home. The hospital has an infusion center and radiation department, as well as a team of talented medical oncologists, nurse practitioners and nurses to meet the needs of patients. Thanks to philanthropic support, oncology patients do not need to travel far in order to receive the necessary treatment and care.

At Southern Ocean Medical Center’s emergency department, neighbors take care of neighbors

The hospital is a beacon for its community, and Southern Ocean is proud of the improvements made to the emergency department over the past few years, which have greatly reduced waiting times, and increased patient satisfaction. The spacious, comfortable and efficient emergency department is made possible through the generosity of donors, and we thank you for taking care of your neighbors in need

Healthy Eating, Healthy Life

A balanced diet and nutrition are an important part of keeping patients healthy, and Southern Ocean Medical Center is proud to offer nutritional education both in the hospital and in the community. In the hospital, patients work one-on-one with a nutritionist, often resulting in much improved health outcomes, including weight loss and reduced medication needs. The Southern Ocean team also helps educate community members on the importance of a healthy and balanced diet at various community programs, made possible through the many donors that support Southern Ocean Medical Center.

Supporting Southern Ocean Families

For many families, the cost of higher education is daunting. Southern Ocean Medical Center is proud to offer scholarships to team member families. Families with a qualifying child who are donors to the Scholarship Fund can apply for the scholarship to help cover the cost of trade school and two or four-year college This scholarship, made possible through the generous support of donors, is a great benefit for families who have dedicated their time and talent to Southern Ocean Medical Center and its community.

A PATIENT’S BEST FRIEND

An extended hospital stay can be very stressful for patients. Dakota, an extraordinary golden retriever and Southern Ocean Medical Center team member, is dedicated to his job of brightening patients’ days and bringing smiles to everyone in the hospital. Dakota is excellent at reducing stress and making a hospital stay more comfortable, especially since many patients are away from their friends, families and their own pets. The Pet Therapy Program, among many others, is made possible through generous donations.

KEEPING YOUR HEART HEALTHY

Southern Ocean Medical Center is proud to offer many vascular services in both the operating room and the vascular lab, where clinicians analyze the health and performance of a patient’s arteries and veins. Vascular lab services are important for the Southern Ocean community, as it enables patients in need, particularly those who are older, to stay right here, in the local community for their care.
