SHAPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF NURSES

Hackensack Meridian Bayshore Medical Center’s scholarship program has grown significantly over the past several years, with increasingly more applicants applying for education assistance each year. In addition to helping employees jumpstart or advance their careers in the nursing profession, it is more important than ever for the hospital to have nurses with advanced degrees to help drive transformation in health care. Excellence in nursing ultimately results in safe and high-quality care. We are grateful for the visionary donors who support our team.

“I am the first in my family to attend college, and with the help of this scholarship, I hope to be the first to graduate.”

REIMAGINING OUTPATIENT SERVICES

Clinical caregivers and community members depend on convenient outpatient services to help diagnose and manage a wide array of medical needs. Thanks in part to donor support, Bayshore’s comprehensive Outpatient Services modernization project kicked off with a renovation of the reception area of the Dr. Robert H. Harris Diagnostic Imaging Center, as well as an expanded pediatric physical therapy suite. A new centralized outpatient registration area was also opened, designed to improve privacy and the overall experience for seamless service, especially for patients with more than one appointment during their visit. Additional

updates will continue in the coming months to advance technology, increase patient privacy and feature comfortable, spacious and modern facilities with easy navigation to accommodate more patients, more efficiently.

DONORS PAVE THE WAY FOR A GREENER FUTURE

Our donors play a pivotal role in initiatives that have earned Bayshore Medical Center national recognition for sustainability. In addition to efforts to responsibly improve gardens and landscaping, energy efficiency, and waste reduction, the campus is abuzz with three thriving apiaries cared for by a dedicated group of team members. The program supports pollination on the hospital’s campus and throughout the community, benefiting local family-run farms, home gardens and natural plant growth.

“I am proud to be a part of such an important initiative here at Bayshore. Thanks to our donors, we are able to make a difference and do our part to help the planet.”

NEW DEDICATED SPACE FOR PHYSICIANS

Thanks to philanthropy, the recently renovated Physicians’ Lounge at Bayshore Medical Center provides a functional, comfortable and beautiful space all Bayshore physicians deserve, now and well into the future. This renovation will reduce physician burnout and support their mental health by allowing doctors to connect with one another, prepare for patients, decompress after procedures and seek respite. This welcoming area offers a supportive environment for our doctors and demonstrates our sincere gratitude for their service.

Did You Know?

Bayshore Medical Center is an accredited center of the American College of Surgeons’ Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), demonstrating a strong commitment and adherence to the safety and quality of care for bariatric patients.

ENHANCED COMFORT IN THE NEWLY RENOVATED CENTER FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Thanks to donor support, Bayshore’s Center for Weight Loss recently completed an ambitious modernization and renovation project designed to meet the needs of its patients and team members. New flooring, furniture, equipment, amenities and decor throughout the Center welcomes everyone with warmth and comfort, easing patients’ anxieties while making them more comfortable moving throughout the space.

“We are incredibly grateful for the Center’s renovation. What a beautiful area for our patients to be cared for!”

Be The Difference is a transformational effort focusing on four key pillars: enhancing the delivery of patient care, accelerating groundbreaking research and discovery, expanding access to advanced care and revolutionizing medical education while supporting the nursing profession.

Through this ambitious initiative, Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation aims to reshape health care for patients, clinicians and the diverse communities it serves, paving the way for a brighter, healthier future. Thank you for making a difference!

CARE FOCUSED ON ENRICHMENT, COMFORT AND DIGNITY

Comfort and quality of life are extremely important for patients and their loved ones when serious illness calls for palliative or hospice care services. Bayshore’s palliative care team offers communication, education, comprehensive care, support, symptom management and encouragement to deal with the physical symptoms and emotional stress of a serious illness. When it is no longer feasible for a patient to return home for end-oflife care, the nursing team uses the donor-funded “hospice cart” to “bring a bit of home” to the hospital with soft, warm touches that create a serene and homelike environment. A courtesy cart offers refreshments to people at their loved ones’ bedside throughout the stay, which makes a big difference to patients and their families.

“We deeply appreciate our donors’ support, which allows us to provide a healing and calming environment for our hospice patients in the hospital.”
