THANK YOU DONOR IMPACT
REPORT

LITTLE PATIENTS, BIG CARE
Through the generous support of our donors, Hackensack Meridian Old Bridge Medical Center now offers on-site pediatric specialty outpatient appointments for children with unique health needs. Specialists in areas such as cardiology, general surgery, gastroenterology, nephrology, pulmonology and sleep medicine diagnose, develop treatment plans and provide follow-up care tailored to each child’s condition. This approach not only improves health outcomes, but also supports families by providing comprehensive, accessible care in a familiar outpatient setting.
HEALING PAWS: THE IMPACT OF PET THERAPY
Thanks to the generosity of donors, the Pet Therapy Program at Old Bridge Medical Center delivers smiles throughout the campus! Therapy dogs serve as an effective distraction from stressful situations, helping to relieve patients’ anxiety and discomfort. Beyond their benefit to patients, team members and visitors alike also experience the comfort and relaxation that spending time with a warm, friendly animal offers. Their presence provides a momentary escape from the pressures of the hospital environment, while boosting morale and enhancing the overall atmosphere.

GIVING WARMTH
Being in the hospital is often uncomfortable and scary, and patients recovering from surgery or undergoing specific medical treatments are often cold. Fortunately, several local organizations provide muchneeded warmth and reassurance to patients undergoing treatments or recovering from medical procedures by donating handmade crocheted blankets. These blankets can significantly improve our patients’ experiences, offering a caring and cozy touch during stressful and uncertain times. Our donors’ compassion certainly makes a hospital stay a little bit warmer.

HIGHPRECISION BREAST BIOPSY

A stereotactic breast biopsy unit is a specialized medical device used to obtain tissue samples from the breast with high precision. This minimally invasive procedure utilizes mammography to locate abnormal areas within the breast tissue, combining 3D imaging with a computer-guided needle to accurately target the specific site of concern. Stereotactic breast biopsies are typically performed on an outpatient basis, ensuring a quick recovery and minimal discomfort for our patients, while also providing essential information for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. We are grateful for our donors whose generosity enables us to provide this advanced technology that helps so many patients.

THE BEST IN TOTAL HIP AND KNEE REPLACEMENT
When you support a hospital’s greatest needs, you enable improvements in many areas throughout the campus, helping them to grow and enhance the care they provide. For example, Old Bridge Medical Center has recently earned the prestigious Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Certification for Total Hip and Knee Replacement. This accomplishment highlights the medical center’s dedication to delivering specific care to orthopedic patients and signifies its commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement. Achieving and maintaining this certification requires adherence to rigorous, evidencebased standards of care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and robust performance measurement. It signifies that the program consistently meets or exceeds national benchmarks for outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency, thereby ensuring the highest level of orthopedic care for patients undergoing joint replacement procedures.
Be The Difference is a transformational effort focusing on four key pillars: enhancing the delivery of patient care, accelerating groundbreaking research and discovery, expanding equitable access to advanced care and revolutionizing medical education while supporting the nursing profession.
Through this ambitious initiative, Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation aims to reshape health care for patients, clinicians and the diverse communities it serves, paving the way for a brighter, healthier future. Thank you for making a difference!
LIFE-SAVING 3D TECHNOLOGY
Patients at the Center for Women at Old Bridge Medical Center benefit from the latest technology in the fight against breast disease. Donor support enabled the purchase of two 3D mammography machines, which create a three-dimensional picture of the breast using X-rays, and when combined with artificial intelligence (AI), early detection of breast cancer is significantly enhanced. AI assists radiologists by analyzing mammogram images more quickly and accurately, identifying abnormalities that might be missed by the human eye. This collaboration between AI and 3D breast imaging leads to improved diagnostic accuracy, reduced false positives and, ultimately, better patient outcomes.
“The equipment has allowed us to provide optimal care for our patients by delivering advanced 3D technology and Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, it offers enhanced comfort for the patient and ease of use for the technician.”
