சபோய்வகயடியோன். இவரர திருக்டகாயில்களில் ப்ரதிஷ்ரே வசய்யும்-டபாது, வபருோள் சந்நிதிக்கு எதிராக இரு ரக கட்ரே-விரல்களும் ஒன்றிய விரல்கரளக் கூட்டிய ேகுளி பத்ே ஹஸ்தாஞ்சலியுேன் காட்சி தரும்படி ப்ரதிஷ்ரே வசய்யடவண்டுவேன்று பாஞ்சராத்ர ஆகேத்தில் கூறப்-பட்டுள்ளது. இவருக்கு முரறடய 4,8,16,22 கரங்கள் எனவும் கூறப்பட்டு இருக்கிறது. கருே புராணத்தில், பல அதிகாரங்களில், பிறப்பு, இறப்பு டபான்றவற்ரரயும், ஒருவர் இறந்த பிறகு என்னவவல்லாம் டநரிடுகின்றன டபான்ற டகள்வி-களுக்கு விரேயளிப்பது டபான்ற தகவல்கள் காணப்படுகின்றன.

அதில் ஒரு

பகுதிரய ேட்டும் ஒருவர் இறக்கும் தறுவாயில் உள்ளடபாது ேட்டுடே படிப்பர் என்று கூறப்படுகின்றது. கி.பி 1249ம் ஆண்ரேச் டசர்ந்த நக்கிஹளி என்று கர்நாேக ோநிலத்தில் ஹாஸன் ோகாணத்தில் இருக்கும் ஊரிலுள்ள ஸ்ரீலக்ஷ்ேிநரஸிம்ஹ-ஸ்வாேி டகாயிலில் காணப்படும் கருேன்சிரல, ஓடும்பாவரனயில் இரண்டு இறக்ரககரளயும் விரித்து இரு கரங்கரளயும் அஞ்சலி வசய்வது டபான்ற டகாலத்தில், இரு புறமும் டதவிோர்களுேன் காணப்படுகிறார். நாேக்கல்லில் உள்ள நரஸிம்ஹர் டகாயில் அர்த ேண்ேபத்தில், வாேன மூர்த்திக்கு, பலிசக்ரவர்த்தி மூன்றடி நிலம் வழங்க தாரரவார்பரத அசுர-குல குரு சுக்ராச்சார்யார் தடுப்பது டபான்றும், அவரர கருேன் தண்டிப்பது டபான்ற ஓர் அரிய காட்சியும் காணப்படுகின்றது.

பாஞ்சராத்ரித்தில் ஈஸ்வர சம்ஹிரதயில், கருேன் எம்வபருோனின் வ்யூகமூர்த்திகளில் ஒருவரான சங்கர்ஷணனின் அம்ஸம் என்று கூறப்-பட்டு இருக்கிறது.

கடவ இவரர நாம் வணங்கினால் நேக்கு பலமும், ஞானமும்

ஏற்படும். ஸ்ரீரங்கத்திலுள்ள, கருேன் சுண்ணாம்புக்கலரவயால் வசய்யப்பட்ேவர். 5அடி உயரமுள்ள பீேத்தில் 14’6” உயரம் வகாண்ேவர்.

தினமும் அமுதகலசம் எனப்படும் இனிப்ரப ரநடவத்யம் வசய்வர். இந்த டகாயிலிலுள்ள கல் கருேன் ேிக வரப்ரஸாதி. இந்த கருே வாகனத்தின் ேீ து எம்வபருோரன எழுந்தருளச் வசய்து, முதலில் நான்குடபர் ேட்டுடே தாங்க, சிறுக, சிறுக கனம் கூடிக்வகாண்டே டபாய் வபருோள் டகாபுரவாசலுக்கு வந்து டசரும் டபாது அறுபத்து நான்குடபர் தாங்கி எழுந்தருளப் பண்ணுவர். இன்றும் நரேவபற்று வருகிறது.

MEANING ACCORDING TO DR.V.N. VEDANTHA DESIKAN: (As) the life-giving creeper that you are to the lord JanArdhanan, I address you this way. You are inherently very sweetly beautiful. As if one can add charm to this supreme charm of Yours, You adorn Yourself with gold girdle-belt, pearl earrings, pearl necklaces, forehead pendant, gemlaces, anklets etc. Are these but sugar candy bits added to sweeten (further) the milk that Your inherent beauty is? Yes. Or are they the flowers that have bloomed on the Kalpaka creeper that your charm can be figuratively pictured? Yes. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: SrI RanganAyaki is like a SanjeeviniKalpala lathai to Sri RanganAthan. Her inherent beauty does not need any additional ornaments. When such ornaments are added by the kinkaris (servants) of the inner chamber, then the samudhAya soundharyam (Collective beauty) is enhanced many fold and that dhivya Soundharyam captivates the Lord. He falls under her spell. If Sri Ranganaayaki of limitless innate beauty is the life-giving creeper to JanArdhana-Rangan, then the ornaments added to enhance her dhivya soundharyam are like the budding, beautiful blossoms on that Kalpakaa creeper. The naamam “Janaarrdhanan” is the 128th Sahasra Naamam of VishNu. The explanation given by Swamy ParAsara Bhattar for this naamam is: “RakshAprathipakshAn janaan anapEkshO ardhayathi ithi” - He is the destroyer of persons, who are antagonistic. He is known as Janaardhana, since He destroys without expecting any outside help those, who are antagonistic to BhakthAs). Sri RanganAyaki is recognized as “JanArdhana JeevikA”, the lifegiving creeper of Her Lord. She removes His aayAsams (fatigue/KaLaippu) and restores Him back to His erstwhile joyous state. She is like a moolikai for Him; she is the Rangaraja Jeevana Oushadhi. Her charm and beauty is natural (SvabhAva Ramyam) and the adorning of the beautiful jewelry (Sundara AabharaNams) makes Her appear like a Kalpaka Creeper in bloom. The aabharaNams add to Her natural beauty and enhance Her natural beauty like the sweetness of milk enriched by the addition of Sugar.

ேோவே …. தாரதக்குத் தகுந்த டதாரத . வகௌஸல்ரயப்டபால் ஏற்றம் வபற்றவள். விசுவாேித்ர டகாத்ரப்ரவர்த்தகர்கள் முதல் தன் திருத்தகப்பனார் அளவும், பரரே காந்திகளாயிருந்து, தூப்புல் குலத்திற்கு ஓர் விளக்காய் தீபப்ரதீபோய் வந்த ஜ்டயாதிஸ். தீபப்ரகாசன் காட்டியடத - பன்னிரண்டு வருஷம்

வகௌஸல்யாதிகரளப் டபால கர்ப்பம் தரித்து ஸ்வாேிரயத் தன் குழந்ரதவயன பாவிக்கும்படி விடசஷாதிசயத்ரதப் வபற்ற டதாரத. பகவான் இவளிேத்தில் கர்ப்பவாஸம் வசய்ய நிரனப்பிடும் தாய்த் தூய்ரே உள்ளவள்.

ணிவயிறு வோய்த்ேவன் “கண்ோகடரஸ்ஸேஜநிஷ்ேயதாத்ேடநதி” –(ேங்கல்ப

ேூரிமயோேயம்) என்றிவர் தாடேயருளியபடி, “திவ்யகண்ரேவயன்கிற

வியாஜத்ரத யிட்டுப் பகவான் எந்தக் கவிரூபோயவதரித்தாடரா” என்று நிரூபகம். பகவானுரேய திருேணியாழ்வார் எவ்வாறு தம்முரேய சப்தத்தினால்

பகவந்நிடவதிதோகும் வஸ்துக்கரள அஸுரர்கள் வந்து ஆக்ரேிக்காேல் தடுத்து, பகவானுக்டக உபடயாகப் படும்படி வசய்கிறாடரா, அவ்வாடற நம் ஸ்வாேியும்

பகவானுரேய , “எல்ரலயில்லாத விபூதிவயல்லாந்தனதானரேயும்” என்றபடி, இந்தச் டசதனா டசதன வர்க்கங்கரள அபஹாரம் வசய்யும்

ஆசுரப்ரகிருதிகரளயும் துர்வாதிகரளயும் நாவறினால் ீ வவன்று , இரவ யாவும் பகவானுக்டக டசஷபூதங்கவளன்று நிரல நிறுத்தியவர். ேவமன-- அவதார ரவலக்ஷண்யம். ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணரனப் டபாலவும்,

பராசரபகவாரனப் டபாலவும், தேக்கு டலாகரவலக்ஷண்யம் டதாற்றும்படி

பன்னிரண்டு வருஷம் கர்ப்பவாஸம் வசய்து, “தர்ேத்ராணாய டயாபூத்ஸதிசது பகவான் விஷ்ணுகண்ோவதார: என்றபடி, கலியுகம் 4370-க்கு டேல், சுக்ல வருஷம் புரட்ோசி ோதம் சுக்ல தசேி கூடிய திருடவாண நாளில்,

திருடவங்கேமுரேயானுரேய தீர்த்டதாத்ஸவ தினத்தில் ஸ்ரீ தூப்புல்லில் அவதரித்தார் –அருந்தவன் எங்கள் இராோநுஜன் –(நூற்றந்தாதி) என்றபடி அநந்த ஸூரி புண்யபல பூதன்.

ேந்ேிேமன--- டவதாத்ேனான, வபரிய திருவடி நயினாரால் உபடதசிக்கப்பட்டு,

ஸ்ரீஹயக்ரீவன் ப்ரஸாதத்ரதயரேந்து எல்லா உபாயங்களிலும் நிபுணராயிருந்த வித்தகன். ஸ்ரீ ராேபிரானிேம் அகில அஸ்திர டதவரதகளும் அவர்முன் வந்து ப்ரணாேம் வசய்து தங்கரள நியேிக்கும்படி எவ்வாறு விண்ணப்பித்துக் வகாண்ேனடவா, அவ்விதடே, எல்லா வித்யாபிோனி டதவரதகளும்,

தங்களுரேய திவ்ய ரூபங்களுேன் ேரறமுடி யண்ணரலச் சுற்றிக் வகாண்டு தங்கரள நியேிக்கும்படி ப்ரார்த்திக்க ஸ்வாேியும் டவதாந்த வித்ரயரய ோத்திரம் தம்முேன் இருக்கும்படிக்கும், இதர வித்ரயகரளத் தாம்

நிரனக்கும்டபாது வரும்படியாகவும் நியேித்தருளினார். இந்த ப்ரபாக விடசஷத்ரதப் பின்வருோறு ஸுசிப்பித்துள்ளார். “ மநோகேம் பச்யேி யஸ்ே ேோத்வம் நீ ஷிணோம்

அறுமூன்றுலகில் சுரேயான கல்விகள் சூழவந்தாலும்… (டதசிகோரல, அதிகார ஸங்க்ரஹம்) (பதிவனட்டு வித்யாஸ்தானங்களாகிய கல்விகள்) இவ்வாறு ஸர்வ வித்ரயகளும் இவரிட்ே வழக்காம்படியிருந்த விடசஷத்ரதக்

கோக்ஷித்டத, பின்வபாரு ஸேயத்தில் ஸ்ரீரங்கநாச்சியாரும் இவருக்கு”ேர்வேந்த்ே ஸ்வேந்த்ேர்” என்ற பிருரதச் சாற்றியருளியது.

ஸித்தாந்த ஸ்தாபனார்த்தம் அனந்தஸூரிக்குத் தந்டதா வேன்று” ஆடவசமுகோய் நியேித் தான். அத்திருேரலோல் திருேணிடய வ்யாஜோக பகவாடன டவங்கேநாதனாயவதரித்து டவதடவதாங்க சதுரனாய் விளங்கினான்.

adikAram – 1 poorva upakAra paramparai (The Foremost Series of Favours) SECTION – 5 (8) [continued] (27 Favours of the Lord leading to the means for MOKSHAM) We have been considering the beauty of the Lord’s form. His form is mentioned as “Divya MangaLa Vigraham” in our sampradAya. It means, “divine auspicious body”. This is referred to here by SwAmi Desikan as “vadivazhku” in this sub-para: (8) “vFvzkaLmf, cIltftaLmf vSIkaikfKmTv<mf ;”

(8) “vadivazhakAlum, seelattAlum vasheekarikkumtuvum;” His body is so beautiful that no one can remain un-attracted by it. This is the essential nature of Brahman, who is no one but SrIman nArAyaNa, MahA VishNu. The essential qualities are technically called “svaroopa-niroopaka-dharma”, that is, the attributes which determine the essential nature of an object. Without these qualities the object cannot be conceived. The Purushsooktam, which is a VEdic scripture speaking about nArAyaNa, opens with this statement: “shözI;aR pué;> , shöa]Sshöpat! , s _aUim< ivñtae v&Tva , ATyitóÎza'!gulm! .” “sahasrashIrShA puruShah / sahasrAShas-sahasrapAt / sa bhoomim vishvatO vrutvA / atyatiShThatdashAngulam // ” (PuruSha, Who is nArAyaNa, has countless heads, countless eyes, countless legs. He expanded on all sides of the world and established Himself in the measureless Universe.) We have also seen that the Lord’s body is not made of materials of the prakruti. That is why His body is spoken as “Divya Mangala Vigraham”. It is of auspicious nature. We have noted how SrI RAmAnuja has described His form in his sharaNAgati Gadyam. AzhvArs have also sung about His appearance which is beyond words. This is implied by the following verse of SrI nammAzhvAr, in TiruvAimozhi: “MFcfEcatiyayf u[TMkcfEcati mlafnftTEva? `FcfEcati nI ni[fb tamAryayf `lafnftTEva? pFcfEcati ~AdeyaDmf plfkl[ayf, ni[fApmfepa[f kFcfEcati klnftTEva? tiRmaEl kdfDArEy.” (Thiruvaimozhi,3-1-1) “mudicchOthiyAy unathu mukacchOthi malarnthathuvO? adicchOthi nI ninRa thAmaraiyay alarnthathuvO? pdicchOthi Adaiyodum palkalanAy, nin-paimpon kadicchOthi kalanthathuvO? thirumAlE ktturaiyE.” (Thiruvaimozhi,3-1-

1) AzhvAr, seeing the Lord’s divine limbs, divine ornaments, stands wondering about their combined brilliance. He addresses Him thus: “Pray, answer this question of mine, Oh Consort of Lakshmi! Does the beauty of Your countenance bloom as the aura of the crown on the head? Does the beauty of your feet radiate downwards as the blossoming lotus below your feet? Do the beauty of your golden garments and that of several jewels all combined to project an integrated brilliance of your form?” In the following verse, AzhvAr expresses inability to describe the Lord’s beauty: “kdfDArkfkilf tamAr ni[f k]fpatmfAk ovfva, CdfDArtft n[fepa[f u[ftiREm[i oqi ovfvaT, odfDArtfT ;vfv<lK u[fA[pf p<kzfevlflamf epRmfpaLmf pdfDAryayfpf p<bfek[fEb kadfDmalf prwfEcati!” “katturaikkil thAmarai nin kaNpAtham kai ovvA, chutturaiththa nanpon unthirumEni oLi ovvAthu, otturaiththu ivvulaku unnaip pukzhvellAm perupAlum patturaiyAyp puRkenRE kAttumAl paranchOthi!” (If we state the truth, the lotus cannot come near Your eyes, feet, and hands. The colour of the hot gold cannot mach with Your brilliant body. All the praises this world showers on You cannot fully match with Your appearance. All the verbal descriptions comparing Your beauty with familiar objects in the world are useless!) When SrInammAzhvAr, who was gifted with the direct vision of the Lord, finds himself unable to describe the Lord’s beauty, how others can do so? But, the message is not one of disappointment. It is crystal clear that the Lord reveals His beautiful divine body only with the intention of captivating more and more devotees. The Lord doesn’t stop with using His brilliant Form, but also has another instrument to win over the jIvAs. What is it? We shall discuss it next.

இறங்கி அந்த முயல் குட்டிரய விட்டு விட்டு வந்ததாகவும் கூறினான். இரத டகட்ே பட்ேர் கண்களில் நீர் வபருகியது. அவர் நஞ்சீயரிேம், இந்த டவேன் நேக்கு யார்? முன்னர் இவரர அறிடவாோ? அப்படி இருக்ரகயில், நாம் வடு ீ டதடி வந்த ஒடர காரணத்துக்காக இவர் நேக்கு தம் கட்டிரல வகாடுக்கிறார்! இந்த கல்லாத

பாேரனுக்கு சரணாகதிரய டபாதித்தவர் யார்? ஒரு முயலுக்கும் இறங்குகிறாடர ! இப்படி பாேரனுக்டக ஒரு ேனம் இருக்குோனால் சர்டவஸ்வரரன டகட்பாடனன்? என்றார் . உலகில் நேக்கும் சாோன்ய விஷயத்ரதயும் பகவத் குணத்டதாடு வபாருத்தி அனுபவிக்கும் பட்ேரின் ஆச்சார்ய ஹ்ருதயம் இதன் மூலம் வதரிகிறது.

9. THE MIRACULOUS RETURN Kanchipuram in those days was a paradise for devotees as they had too many temples for Siva and Vishnu. The rulers of Pallava dynasty had Kanchi as their capital and developed it very nicely and the Sanskrit sloka ‘’Nagareshu Kanchi’’ trumpeted and spoke high of its importance as the best of towns. Many came to learn from the great teachers of both Saiva and Vaishnava philosophies. who lived there

The tourists had visited the house where Ramanuja lived, the Salai kinaru (well) from where he used to carry water daily for the Varadaraja temple thirumanjanam. Vijayaraghavachari continued the story of Ramanuja ‘’ Ramanuja's cousin, Govinda Bhattar, as I have already told you was also a fellow student of Yadhava Prakasa. He was living with his aunt in Kancipuram at this time. When Ramanuja announced that he was going on pilgrimage to Benares, for bathing in Ganges proposed by the teacher, Govinda also decided to accompany him. Ramanuja’s mother Kanthimathi was not very happy at this proposal for a long tour to the North which meant separation from her beloved son for long. Yadhava Prakasa and the group of students walked for many days and reached a place near the Vindhya Hills which was thought to be the ideal place to get rid of Ramanuja. Unfortunately for the evil minded group, Govinda happened to overhear their plans. He immediately conveyed what he heard and cautioned him about the danger which awaited him and advised Ramanuja not to continue with the group. Accordingly Ramanuja abruptly left them and fled into the deep forest. He was not found when searched and the group concluded that Ramanuja must have been killed and eaten by some wild animal. The young Ramanuja was shocked to learn of the suspected scheme to kill him, and he was bewildered not knowing what to do. ‘’What happened afterwards?’’ asked a woman devotee crying. Vijayaraghavachari asked her to wait and listen and continued. It was pitch dark and the 18 year old boy was hungry also far away from his home town. He put up courage and began chanting Vishnu Sahasranama slokas and believed Vishnu, the god of protection would take care of him and began walking back Southward. He halted uner a tree late that night and began his journey homeward the next morning He was doubtful which way to go back to his home and looked for some help when luckily he saw a hunter couple approaching him. They were surprised to find him in the mid forest and asked ‘’You look like a Brahmin boy. What are you doing here? Have you lost your way? Where do you live?" "My home is at Kanchipuram, may be far from here," replied Ramanuja, ‘’what a foolhardy plan to walk alone like this pursuing a dangerous journey in this dense forest ! Well, I know Kancipuram very well, and, as it happens, we are also going in that direction" ‘’O my god! Exclaimed amanuja very happily , "Where are you from and for what reason are you going to Kanci? He asked the couple.

"We are hunters and live in a village near Vindhya Mountains. We are on our way to Ramesvaram and Kanchipuram to wash off our sins. You can come with us’’ replied the fierce looking hefty black skinned hunter. The whole day the three of them walked. At the outskirts of the forest there was a village away, and they halted at a river bank for the night stay. The hunter’s wife felt thirsty and asked for some water to drink. ‘’I think you have to manage somehow till there is some light as it is unwise to go near the water at this late hour leaving the camp fire I lit to ward off wild animals. Tomorrow morning at the earliest I shall fetch some water for you’’ consoled the hunter. Ramanuja was hearing this conversation between them and felt helpless and sad that he could not help her by bringing some water. The three of them slept there awaiting sunrise. At day break, they found a well. The hunter asked Ramanuja ‘’why don’t you get in and bring some water to drink’’ He did so and brought some water cupping it with both hands, thrice. When he came up the next time with water, he could not find the couple. Where have they disappeared? Ramanuja was surprised and walked further and met some people a little farther away. He went near them and enquired ‘’What is the name of this place?’’ ‘’Are you new to this town?’’ asked the stranger looking at him surprised. ‘’yes’’ said Ramanuja confused. ‘This well is known as Salai kinaru’’. What you see there is the Punyakoti vimanam. This place is known as Hasthagiri better known as Kanchipuram’’ Ramanuja was taken aback. What a surprise. I am back at Kanchi so soon from some deep forest somewhere in the North overnight. This is nothing but Lord Varadharaja’s grace and mercy. It is none but the Lord and his divine consort who helped me to reach home so safely. From this day I shall carry water to my Lord and Thayar (divine mother) who asked water from me, from this well’’ He did so for long at Kanchipuram. When Vijayaraghavachari ended the story every one wondered at the Lord’s benevolence. They were in time to visit the temple of Lord Varadharaja and were happy to have His dharshan.

ேகிழ்ந்த ராேன் ஸுக்ரீவனுக்கு முதலில் வபரியவதாரு நன்ரே வசய்ய டவண்டும் என்று எண்ணினான். வாலி ராேனுக்டகா, நாட்டு ேக்களுக்டகா எவ்வித துன்பமும் வசய்யவில்ரல.

அப்படியிருக்க எவ்வித ஆராய்ச்சியும் வசய்யாேல் அவசரத்தில் அவரன அழித்துவிட்ோன். இப்படி உனக்காகக்

குற்றேற்றவரனக் வகான்றான் என்ற அவப்வபயரரயும் ஏற்றான். (ஹத்வா பாடணன காகுஸ்த்த ோேிஹ அபராதிநம் என்ற வாலி வாக்யம் இங்கு நிரனவூட்ேப்படுகிறது.)

Sulochunuh,Arkah In Margazhi month all prefer to go to perumal temples in the early hours and join in reciting Thiruppavai pasurams and feels happy to get Theertham, sadari, tulsi and Pongal prasadam. There are many lectures arranged in various halls and temples ,and some conduct music concerts on Thiruppavai and Nachiar Thirumozhi. The journals, newspapers and media also join in this yagna with full faith . These happenings are going on with pride on all parts of the world for long period. . Amidst this, some unfortunately create a new theory on the birth of Andal ,as though read in some research papers. This is against the basic truth, and hence made all to view this with much anger I and protests. But one good thing happened along with this ,is many nama sankeerthannams and bajans taking place in many areas to make the situation calm. I read a story recently, as one person first constructed a tomb after his father's death. Then surrounding that he gradually developed a garden, prayer hall, a palatial building, dining hall etc attracting large visitors . One day he had an idea to demolish the tomb as it is not well built and change it as an auditorium. After some body's advice about the basic concept of this huge landmark vantage place, he changed his idea and allowed to exist as it is. Similar to this it will be good if such understanding is caused to the person who created such bad ideas , and seek an apology for his wrong doings. Anyhow, his utterances converted for more nama sankeerthanam in the state is a good event. . Now, on harma Sthothramâ&#x20AC;Ś.. . In 794 th nama Sulochunuh it is meant as one with the most brilliant ,bewitching, and mesmerizing eyes. The beauty of Sriman Narayanaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; eyes are very much attractive and charming one to all devotees. His eyes are said to be great due to the form, colour and

its expression. The true knowledge and infinite purpose of all His creations constantly may be identified easily. In Gita 11.19, Arjuna on seeing Sri Krishna in the universal form (Viswa roopam ) says about the eyes as sasi surya netram .He declares that His two eyes are just similar to the sun and the moon. Similar to this In Gita 7.8 Sri Krishna says as â&#x20AC;&#x153; prabhasmi sasi suryayoh â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;as He is the light of the sun and the moon. In short, He says that He is infinite, the essence in everything, . As the sun can no longer be the sun nor the moon be the moon without radiance, Sriman Narayana is ever with dharma. In Thirumalai,20 th pasuram, Thondaradi podi Azhwar praises about the eyes as thooya thamaraik kangalum . Azhwar describes the reclining pasture of Sri Ranganatha in Srirangam with the presence of Sri Mahalakshmi in chest, beautiful eyes, reddish lips, charming mouth and the entire glorious body. In 18th pasuram also, kani iruntha sevvaikkannan indicates the mouth of Sri Krishna in reddish colour like the kovvai fruit. In Dayasathakam, Swamy Desikan explains the beauty of eyes as Saroja sathrusa thrusa. Narasimhavataram ,is connecting the opposite features such as day and night, living and non living, man and animal, inside and outside. But the sudden appearance of Him with thunder like sound, eyebrows in shaking, attacking hands and bloodshed dancing contradicted His eyes in so much softness and surprising to Prahlada .Thus it is observed that His eyes are always of mesmerizing type. Namas such as Aravindaksha, pundarikasha, mahaksha, pushkaraksha ,are similar to this nama. In 795. Arkah it is meant as one in the form of the Sun and in most worshipful manner. Sriman Narayana is praised by Asuras as a great soul Mahathma ,and highly virtuous one. In Thiruvaimozhi 3.4.1, Nammazhwar says about Sri Krishna in the following theories. He is with tolerance of an earth. He is unique in appreciations of sruthi and smruthi. His nature is like coolness of an ocean, fire, air, sky, and glittering sun and moon (neel sudar irandum) . We observe in Vedas, Sun is worshipped as a deity, even by the Creator Himself. Sun is the one source of light and energy illumining and nourishing everything. Sriman Narayana, is said as Sun because of its splendour the experiences of all people are illumined, at all places and at all times. He is one who is being worshiped even by beings like Brahma who are themselves object of worship. In Moondram Thiruvanthathi ,the lines as Thirukkanden,pon meni kanden, thigazhum arukkan ani niramum kanden ,indicate the vision of Sriman Narayana. Peyazhwar says that He had the vision of Him, with the grace of Sri Mahalakshmi. His wonderful physical body is shining like a sun with sparkling light throughout. He was holding (shankham and chakram )wheel and conch in both the hands. He is worshipped by Brahma and all other devas and is ever considered as supreme. In Gita 10.2 Sri Krishna declares that he is the source of all devas and great rishis, and His origin is not known to any of them. Thus this nama indicates the suprime soul .

Sloka : 104. thadhangasamsparsavaSena DhanyaiH aaplaavyamaanaam abishekathoyaiH apethabhaaraam iva bhoothaDhaathreem ullaaghithaam praikshatha naakanaaThaH Indra considered the earth , which was the abode of all beings , becoming lighter , free from the burden of demons when it was drenched with the water of the abhisheka which was purified by the touch of His body. naakanaaThaH – Indra praikshatha- perceived bhoothadhathreem- the earth, the abode of all beings aaplaavyamaanaam – which was drenched abhishekathoyaiH – with the water of the abhisheka DhanyaiH –which were purified thadhangasamsprsavaSena- due to the touch of the body of Krishna apethabhaaraam –free from the burden of the demons ullaghithaam – and becoming lighter

It was he who equated the Vedic Parabrahman with the personal God Srimannarayana. He followed the precepts of Alwars in enjoying the bliss of the nectar in the feet of the Lord (madhva utsah). Indeed it is proper that he is hailed as the bee singularly interested in sucking the honey in the lotus feet of Sri Krishna. Shouriraja is Sri Krishna. Chakrapani temple kumbakonam

Chakrapani temple kumbakonam is considered to be one of the most important Vishnu temples in South India, along with Srirangam and Tirupati. Seven of the Alwars sang the glories of this temple. Lord Sarangapani is the presiding Deity of the temple. Most of the temple was built by the Nayak kings between the 13th and 17th centuries, but the central shrine dates to the end of the Chola period. There are two entrances for entering the central shrine of the temple.You enter the southern entrance during the dakshinayana period, when the sun is in the Southern Hemisphere and the northern entrance during the period of uttarayana, when the sun is in the northem hemisphere. DIVINESS OF THE TEMPLE: The images of Chakrapani and with 8 arms and Sudarshanavalli Thayar with a gracious visage are inspiring. Brahma, Surya and Agni are depicted as worshipping the Lord. According to legend, Surya once competed with Vishnu to decide who was brighter. Vishnu appeared in the form of a Chakra and put down the pride of Surya. History Of Chakrapani Temple The Sacred Sri Chakra was aimed at Jalandarasura by this swami and after killing him it emanated from the earth and settled on the banks of the Sacred Cauvery. Lord Brahma established this in this new place and began to workship it. As its brightness was thousand times better then the Sun. So he became jealous of the vishnu Chakra and increased his brightness more than that of the Sri Chakra to suppress his pride, the chakra drew its brightness to its self and taught him a lesson. Then the sun realized his folly and surrendered to its holy feet. On this holy placeSri Chakrapani Swamy came out of shri Chakra and gave Dharsan to the sun. Having been blessed by Sri Chakrapani Swami, the sun built a temple for this Lord and requested Him to give him a boon that this holy city of Kumbakonam should be named after him as the "BASKARA KSHETHRA". It was granted. The Baskara Kshetra became a renowned Pranthana Stala offering benefits to so many who worship Sri Chakrapani Swami. The Sun God is supposed to be the head of all the planets (Nava Grahas). He surrendered completely to the main deity of this temple. So if any one worships Sri Chakrapani Swami, all the Doshas due to nine planets (Nava Grahas) will vanish. Those who are affected by seven and a half year Saturn, Ashtama sani, Ragu dosha, Ragu buddhi, Kethu dosha etc., will be relieved of the dosha on coming to this kshetra and praying to this Lord. Those who do pradhakshna of this temple will get all they desire. The unmarried will get married soon and beget good children. The flowers and leaves Viz. Thulasi, Kumkum, Vilvam, Vanni, Chemparuthi, Arali are offered to this Lord as the holy gods Surya, Agni, Brahma and the sages Markandeya and Ahirbudhanya Maharishi did archana with the above said flowers and leaves. Prarthanas of the devotees are fulfilled by doing Sudarsana Homam at this sacred shrine. In the north side of this temple there is one tank named Amirtha Pushkarani. One Brahmin named Surya Bandu taking the asthikalasa of his father along with his disciple came to Kumbakonam on his way to mix the ashes of his father in the holy Ganges. He placed the kalasa on the banks of the Holy Chakrapadithurai and did his Sandyavadana in the Holy Cauvery. The disciple was hungry and he opened the kalasa to know if it contained some eatables. Then to his wonder he saw the red lotus flowers and so closed it. They reached Kasi. There the Brahmin opened the kalasa and saw the bones & ashes. At that time his disciple told him when had happened in Kumbakonam. So he returned to Kumbakonam. He opened the pot and mixed the ashes in the water of the holy Chakra Theertha. It is told that his father had informed him to mix the ashes in such a tank where they turned to be lotus flowers. A dip in this holy tank is a blessing on the day of the Thula month of Tamil year. சோபம் சபறுேல். துடராணரிேம் இருந்து விரே வபற்றுச் வசன்ற கர்ணன் தனக்கு ஒரு நல்ல குருரவத் டதடி அரலந்தான். அப்டபாது ேகத நாட்டில் பரசுராேரரப் பற்றிக் டகள்விப்பட்டு,

அந்நாட்ரேக் கேந்து பல டயாசரன தூரம் நேந்து இேயத்தின் அடிவாரத்தில் பரசுராேர் குடி வகாண்டு இருக்கும் ஆசிரேத்ரத அரேந்தான். பரசுராேரின் டதஜஸ் ேிகுந்த முக ஒளி கர்ணரனக் கவர்ந்தது. அருகில் வசன்று பரசுராேரர வணங்கினான். அப்டபாது அவரனக் கண்ே பரசுராேர், "நீ யார் இரளஞடன? எனது இருப்பிேம் வந்த காரணம் யாது?" என்று டகட்ோர்.

அதற்கு இந்திரன்," நாரதடர! இந்தக் கர்ணன் எதிர்காலத்தில் அர்ஜுனனுக்கு எதிரான அணியில் டசர விருக்கிறான். அது முக்காலமும் உணர்ந்த உேக்கும் வதரியும்

அல்லவா? அப்படி இவன் டசர்ந்தால் எனது ேகனின் நிரல? அவரனக் காக்கும்

Hanuman

By Tamarapu Sampath Kumaran Hanuman Chalisa One day Valmiki came to know that the great Hanuman too had penned the adventures of Rama, engraving the story with his nails on rocks. A curious Valmiki traveled to the Himalayas where Hanuman was residing to partake this version. When Hanuman read out his narration Hanumad Ramayana, Valmiki was overwhelmed by its sheer power and poetic caliber. It was truly an inspired piece. Valmiki felt both joy and sorrow. Joy because he had had the chance to hear an exceptionally beautiful poem, and sad because it obviously overshadowed his own work. When Hanuman saw the unhappiness his work had caused Valmiki he smashed the engraved rocks destroying his creation forever. Valmiki was emotionally moved by this act of Hanuman and wished to write on the greatness of Hanuman. He could fulfill his wish in his rebirth as Tulasidas. Later, one tablet is said to have floated ashore during the period of Mahakavi Kalidasa, and hung at a public place to be deciphered by scholars. Kalidasa is said to have deciphered it and recognised that it was from the Hanumad

Ramayana recorded by Hanuman in an extinct script, and considered himself very fortunate to see at least one pada of the stanza. Such was Hanuman's selflessness. For him, narrating the tales of Rama’s adventures was a means to re-experience Rama, not a ticket to the hall of fame. Hanuman's name too illustrates his self-effacing character, being made up of 'hanan' (annihilation) and 'man' (mind), thus indicating one who has conquered his ego.

Hanuman Chalisa हनुमवन िवलीिव is a devotional song based on Lord Hanuman, written by Tulasidas in the Awadhi language, and is his best known text apart from the Ramacharitmanas. The word "chālisā" is derived from "chālis" in Hindi, which means 40, as the Hanuman Chalisa has 40 verses Legend goes that Tulasi Das went to meet the then Emperor Aurangazeb in Delhi after having had a vision of God Sri Rama in Gokula, the birth place of God Sri Krishna. The Emperor challenged Tulsi Das to show Sri Rama to him. When Tulsi Das replied that it is not possible without true devotion to Rama, he was imprisoned by Aurangzeb. In the prison, Tulsi Das is supposed to have written the beautiful verses of the Hanuman Chalisa on Sri Hanuman. When he completed the Hanuman Chalisa in prison, it is said that an army of monkeys menaced the city of Delhi. The king unsuccessfully tried to control the monkeys with his forces. Finally, the Emperor is supposed to have realized that the monkey menace was a manifestation of the wrath of Hanuman, the Monkey God. He released Tulsi Das and urged him to intervene in this grave matter and it is said that the monkeys stopped their mischiefs immediately after Tulsi's release. Tulsi Das says in the Chalisa that whoever chants it with full devotion to Hanuman, will have Hanuman's grace. Amongst the Hindus of Northern India, it is a very popular belief that chanting the Hanuman Chalisa invokes Hanuman's divine intervention in grave problems, including those concerning evil spirits and this belief is based on the claim made in the Chalisa itself.
