Event 1:

On Nov 9, we were honored to participate in the first Gala at Kentucky Christian University which is our local Christian university and new business partner. Alan Robertson, of the Duck Dynasty Robertson family, was the guest speaker for the evening. He and his wife Lisa were engaging, friendly, and so nice to speak with. The event coordinator, as well as the president of the university and various students, spoke early on. The KCU Worship Collective played during dinner. Such a great event that we look forward to attending again next year!

Event 2:

November 15th was the Jeremy Camp Deeper Waters Tour in Charleston, WV with special guests Andrew Ripp and Rachael Lampa. We got to love on some of our donors with a surprise appearance from Jeremy himself! We had a couple listeners (the two women in the picture with Zac, me and Derek) stop by our table with slices of pie for our team members!

experiences

Event 3:

November 15-16 was a listener/supporter/donor hosted vendor craft fair, in which she always does a raffle to raise money for our station. It was a two day event with roughly 30+ vendors in attendance. She is always such a blessing to our station and to others to do whatever it takes to share the gospel of Jesus!

experiences

For the 16th year, 88.3 WCQR partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee to provide Thanksgiving meals to local families in a campaign called Project Thanksgiving. The Project Thanksgiving goal for 2024 was to feed 7,000 families. On November 7th, 2024, WCQR dedicated an entire day of broadcasting to creating awareness about food insecurities in the area and encouraging listeners to sponsor a Thanksgiving meal at the cost of just $25. Later in November, Project Thanksgiving met exceeded its goal!

Similar to a normal fundraiser, we have several volunteers and donors join us in the phone room for the day. Pictured to the right are Amy Elkins (left) and Mike Loudermilk (right), who are both long-time volunteers and donors. We appreciate them for their dedication to our mission and minsitry!

Coffee Stops! Christian and Amanda, Michael, and Casey went to The Coffee Company in Elizabethton for a Coffee Stop on Friday November 1st. Then on Friday, November 15th, the entire team engaged with listeners at The Fox’s Den Boardgame Cafe Fun was had, coffee was consumed, and babies were held! We love coffee stops because they allow us to casually converse with our WCQR family.

These were some comments on one of our Facebook posts about the Coffee Stops.

experiences

The most exciting thing that happened on our social media was because of an exciting thing in our WCQR family: Adam and his wife Katie welcomed sweet baby Nora into the world on Saturday, November 16th!

Two of the 250+ comments from the social media post about baby Nora:

We invited our social media followers to wish Amanda a Happy Birthday on November 27th. Here are several of the nearly 150 comments.

Here is a cool God Moment story from Adam:

The nurse midwife that is working today saw Katie at her last appointment this past Friday. Katie really liked her and when she came in today, I could see why. Then, she told how she was driving in today and heard Rhonda talking about Nora coming and asking people to pray. Well, she prayed for us not knowing she would be meeting Nora and that she already met Katie. It was really sweet. She said her mom listens all the time and encouraged her to take the 30-day challenge back in Jan and she hasn’t changed the station since.

We’ve been blessed with the ability to create and deliver experiences on our app as well. We recently began to receive and respond to messages that listeners send on our app. It could be anything from a song request, to appreciation for what one of the on-air hosts said, prayer requests, or just a “thank you.”

Here are a few of the encouraging messages we received in November from our listeners.

A message from a follower on Facebook:

And another follower sent us a couple dad jokes for Christian. Here’s one:

experiences

On Wednesday, Nov 6, a small homeschool group came for a Radio Station field trip. The kids got to see Rhonda and Adam in action, ask questions about how the station works, hear some of their favorite songs, and Christian and Amanda even put a couple kids on air with their best Dad Joke!

Another home school group came for a visit on Wednesday, November 20th. Abigail, Karen, Caleb, and Eli. Abigail got to record with Rhonda during the Morning Show!

Josh and Casey set up a booth at a local concert called Mountain Aid . It was a benefit concert for Samaritan’s Purse and was filled with a great lineup including Jason Crabb, Jason Lovins Band, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, Sean of the South, Point of Grace, and Steven Curtis Chapman. It was great to see so many artists offer their music in support of such a good cause in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Many of our listeners were there in support.

Our dear friend and donor Marc St. Louis stopped by to visit a week or so after he was in a car accident. He wanted to wish us a Happy Thanksgiving and to ask for prayer for healing.

Silas and his family stopped by the station one day after Project Thanksgiving. Silas wanted to give his money to buy Thanksgiving meals for local families. He even wrote them a sweet note.

Recently, we had a listener comment on our “Gratitude Check-In” Facebook post, where she shared about her father’s heart surgery. Our social media director, Stephanie made contact with the listener and sent her a Spirit FM care gift along with our prayers. We truly are blessed to get the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus with just a simple act of kindness and love.

This was a message on FB sent from a story.

A listener shared their victory story and testimony with us; proclaiming that our Lord is the true deliverer and redeemer.

When we go through our donor list and make calls, we offer to pray with people. Mike had an opportunity to pray for Cathy and she commented on one ouf our Facebook posts. She shared how God is working in her life with some financial struggles.

Event 1:

WPER had a Meet & Greet with Jeremy Camp for some of our donors and business partners before the concert!

A Facebook post from our sweet friend Val on her mission trip to South America. Received this message from our business partner, Christa at Seek & Find Thrift.

“I came to the WPER station on October 3rd to drop off some food and snacks for the fall fundraiser. While I was there, I met Montpelier Mike for the first time, and heard his testimony/personal challenge while I was driving to the station. I asked Mike to keep my daughter Jessica in prayer because she struggles with drug addiction. He said he was going to pray with the WPER team for her. On October 6th she started going to church but I didn’t know that until she called me on November 3rd and said that she got saved! When she got saved, the lady praying for her said “the addiction was over with!” This lady didn’t know anything about Jessica! Although Jessica still feels the struggle of letting go of the addiction, she said it is getting better. Every day she can feel it breaking off! I’ve also been fasting for her so I can feel the break also and it’s almost there! Thank you Jesus!

I just want to express my gratitude to Mike and the WPER team for praying for my daughter Jessica Michelle!”
