the design of diversity

Everyone seems to be drifting in and out of digital identities, from their Twitter profile photo to hanging around in Fortnite. From 2D profile photos on Twitter or Discord to 3D representations in VRChat, they're all avatars by definition Our 3D depiction is commonly referred to as our 'toon' in game settings. This meant that you were no longer attached to your avatar. It isn't truly YOU; it was merely a vehicle you used to play a game in Our avatar is a representation of owrself in open environments. And'self' in this context didn't imply a 1:1 link with your physical body (or even the personality of your'real' self). While your physical self was male, you may present yourself as a female. While your physical self was extroverted and social, you may be chilly and silent. Your avatar served as a vehicle for expressing your identity, personality, and social signals We could use anything from a pfp (profile image) to an avatar to represent yourself in 'flat' Internet forums, but it was clear that you meant it as your emblem. It was merely your 'badge' in a discussion or on your Facebook page, and you didn't give it its own distinct identity.

The 3D avatar as a representation of self. You have the freedom to express yourself as any gender (or even any species). This, in principle, would promote diversity. However, depending on how people express or show their race, it's difficult to say whether avatars are 'post-racial.'

Our avatar can exist independently of our physical identity. In today's internet surroundings, pseudo-anonymity is frequently assumed. As a result, we might be able to achieve great success in the digital world without anyone noticing that we're "too young" or "too old," or that you're not as wealthy or attractive as your avatar. Despite the fact that our avatar is a separate entity, it nonetheless receives a massive quantity of data from your real person.

Plasticity or features, choices, characteristics.

Epic is the company behind video game phenomenon Fortnite, which has moved beyond its core shooting game to social experiences like dance parties and virtual music concerts. SUPPLY CHAIN / INTERNET

Blockchain and web3 are pointing to new ways that economies will be organized, both offline and online. Avatars will capture economic benefit. Much of the web's economic worth is now invisible: put something on Facebook, and it earns money (for Facebook, and its advertisers).

HOW TRUE?

BLOCKCHAIN The transaction layer will be exposed in blockchain-based economies, making them more open to innovation. So, How Will We Know If Avatars Aren't Always Real People? We'll see some intriguing developments regarding avatars being so'real,' or the other way around, to, hopefully, avoid bias.

CONNECT The metaverse will be a collective project that goes beyond a single company. It will be created by people all over the world, and open to everyone.

“YOU CAN BE WHATEVER YOU WANT TO BE?...“

HOW EASY IS TO DESATACH FROM THE STEREOTYPES OF REALITY TO AVOID BIAS?

The complexity of the actual world is beginning to seep into the Metaverse, a virtual realm in which identity serves as both a mirror of and a determinant of social capital. Differential pricing for digital avatars based on race, gender, and skin color is surfacing among CryptoPunks, despite the utopian and egalitarian ideals preached by the tightly interwoven worlds of crypto, decentralized finance, blockchain, and non-fungible tokens. The lack of diversity among the investors who favor these status assets, It's a predominantly male and white demographic. Female CryptoPunks and those with deeper skin tones sell for less than male CryptoPunks or those with fair complexion. Our physical self can communicate with our avatar. Because it's also true in the other direction. Also mindboggling is the fact that 'occupying' an avatar can directly impact our physical self. One theory involved mirror neurons, which suggested that our minds can attach to avatars in a similar way to how we attach to our bodies. If my avatar is overweight, it will affect my self-esteem. Therefore as a part of a short and empirical exercise, I tried to portray the representation of the creation of non-human base figures. And realized how hard is to detach the stereotypes of reality that we have attached in my own mind according to how an avatar might look like. The evolution went from the deconstruction of body parts portrayed as geometrical figures to a more animal-based approach to finally, wonder DOES THEY HAVE TO HAVE INTRINSECAL HUMAN COMPOSITION TO START WITH, RESULTING IN MORE FLUID AND AMORPHOUS SHAPES.
