ParadigMS distributes all its educational material via paradigms.foundation, an educational platform that makes learning easy and accessible. Learners can create a profile, track their learning progress and receive the latest news from the world of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The e-platform is only accessible to healthcare practitioners active in clinical practice.
ParadigMS’ learning platform offers:
→ On-demand webinars (recordings of lectures)
→ Short expert interviews
→ Links to published articles
→ Peer-reviewed slide decks
→ e-learnings (asynchronous and self-paced)
→ Tools for use in clinical practice
→ Live educational events
ParadigMS designs and develops asynchronous and self-paced e-learnings covering different topics related to multiple sclerosis. The e-learnings are free and disseminated via the learning e-platform (paradigms.foundation).
In 2022, ParadigMS developed a +2-hour e-learning on Microglia.
ParadigMS offers EACCME® Accredited self-paced courses through its educational platform.
Duration: 2 h 26 min
Structure: 1 on-demand webinar and 1 final exam
Instructors: Dr Roula Hourani & Dr Jens Würfel
The focus of this course is the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) which plays a fundamental role in the diagnosis and management of the multiple sclerosis (MS) patient. It includes examples of MRI and exercises for participants to learn how to differentiate MS from other neurological diseases mimicking the outward signs of MS.
Duration: 2 h 1 min
Structure: 3 on-demand webinars and 1 final exam
Instructors: Prof Celia Oreja-Guevara, Prof Maura Pugliatti and Prof Bassem Yamout
Initially, Prof. Bassem Yamout navigates you through the topic of pregnancy and lactation in patients with MS by providing concrete examples and self-reflection activities. Additionally, Prof Maura Pugliatti guides you in how to manage and mitigate risks associated with treating MS patients, by providing a set of key messages stemming both from her experience and literature reports, underlying risk mitigation in MS treatment. Finally, Prof Celia Oreja-Guevara sheds light on the response to vaccination of MS patients, including the influence of the chosen MS treatment on vaccine response.
To realise its vision, ParadigMS designs and implements live educational events with the aim to improve clinical practice.
Each live session ensures:
→ Focus on clinically relevant learning
→ Based on peer reviewed educational materials
→ Using sound educational methods
→ Speakers that are expert in neurology and multiple sclerosis
During 2022, ParadigMS successfully organised the seventh ParadigMS Symposium in Belgium, the first ParadigMS Egypt Symposium in Cairo, the first ParadigMS Master Class in Belgium and successfully participated in the 7th MENACTRIMS Congress. At the same time, a workshop was conducted in the university hospital of Liège, Belgium.
ParadigMS Belgium Symposium 2022, covering MRI&OCT, Cognition, Precision
well as how to target it and cognition: A marker of silent progression.
ParadigMS Egypt Symposium 2022, covering MRI, Newest treatment and how to select MS patients, Pathogenesis & prognosis of progression, Family Planning, Management of progressive MS, Status of new trials in SPMS/PPMS, Prognosis in MS, and clinical implications of disease modifying therapy.
ParadigMS workshop at the CHU Liège, Belgium, disseminating the practical guide on “Using Personalized Prognosis in the Treatment of Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis”.
ParadigMS Master Class 2022, featuring prognosis factors in MS, high efficacy treatments in MS and telemedicine and the use of digital tools.

ParadigMS’ experts engage in the creation and publication of position and review papers in peer reviewed journals.
The papers are produced in line with the Good Publication Practice1 guidelines and are published as Open Access to ensure the entire neuroscience community has access to them. ParadigMS supported the publication of three articles during 2022.

In 2023, the efforts will focus amongst other topics, on publications on Microglia and on Cognition.
ParadigMS Experts meet twice a year to peer-review educational slide decks on different topics around MS.
The peer-reviewed slide decks are distributed online and made accessible via the ParadigMS learning e-platform (paradigms.foundation).
To develop better training programmes, ParadigMS decided to develop a needs assessment survey to get more insights into the training needs and the preferred learning environment of neurologists and residents. The survey was launched in December 2022 and will be closed in July 2023. The findings will be presented in September 2023.
We invite you to complete this 8-min needs assessment survey! Scan the QR code and help us develop better training programmes!

ParadigMS is an active member of the Multi-Stakeholder Initiatives, a project initiated and led by the European Charcot Foundation. It promotes a joint approach to coordinate existing Multiple Sclerosis initiatives aiming to avoid overlap in the actions and to increase the power of representation of the MS world at institutional level in Europe with the ultimate goal of improving MS patients' lives.
