Scholarships

Scholarship Program

At Oxley Christian College, we are committed to nurturing well-rounded Scholars of Character who excel academically, demonstrate leadership, and embody our Christian values.

Our Scholarship Program is an initiative designed to recognise students of upstanding character who are committed to their studies and are willing to actively engage in theculture of the College.

Academic Scholarship

Our Academic Scholarship recognises and supports students who excel academically, live our Christian values, and participate in co-curricular activities. We award scholarships based on a review of grades, work habits, behaviour, attendance and community involvement.

• For non-current Oxley students only: Year 5

• For both current and non-current Oxley students: Years 7–10

Through these scholarships, we recognise and nurture students’ pursuit of excellence in Sport, Music, Performing and Visual Arts.

For both current and non-current Oxley students:

• Music (Instrumental, Vocal, Composition)

• Performing Arts (Dance, Theatre)

• Visual Arts

• Sport

Means-Tested Scholarship

Oxley offers greater access to Christ-centred education for families on a limited income through our Means-Tested Scholarship. This scholarship is designed to support families in need and provide students with an education that nurtures faith, character and academic growth.

Application Process

1 Portfolio Submission

Every scholarship candidate at Oxley Christian College must submit a portfolio that will include a Cover Sheet, NAPLAN results, semester reports, plus any notable co-curricular or extra curricular activities, leadership roles, or competition results.

As part of their portfolio, students will also answer selection criteria to illustrate how they intend to reach their goals. Criteria centres on values, time management, and their past experiences, and is unique to the specific scholarship that they are applying for.

2 Apply Online

Each scholarship has different opening times which you can find out through the Oxley website. Candidates must supply the relevant cover sheet and portfolio.

3 Sit the Test

If applying for an Academic Scholarship, students may sit an Edutest held at Oxley in early February. This is typically held on a Saturday morning.

Please note if a candidate completes an Edutest in the same cycle at another institution, they need not sit a second one.

4 Interview and Recommendation to Principal

If a student’s portfolio—and, where applicable, their test results—meet a high standard, they will be invited to attend an interview to discuss their portfolio. If successful, applicants will be recommended to the Principal and the appropriate scholarship tuition discount will be awarded.

When do Scholarships open?

Our Academic Scholarships are open during Term 4 for a four week period. Applications usually open in mid-October. This year, they will open on 17 October and close on 14 November for 2027 Academic Scholarships as well as 2028 Year 7 Early-Entry Academic Scholarships.
