Program Overview

Oxley Christian College offers a limited number of means-tested scholarships to eligible families who are on a limited income. The Means-Tested Scholarship program is designed to support families in financial need, enabling greater access to a Christ-centred education that nurtures faith, character, and academic growth in their children.

Scholarships

Available

Means-Tested Scholarships are for new students commencing at the College in 2026. Scholarships are tenable until the end of Year 12.

Means-Tested Scholarships are awarded based on a candidate’s student portfolio, latest school reports, NAPLAN report, scholarship interview, and financial circumstances.

Student Profile

Applicants must complete this form and return together with supporting documentation and the application fee of $50 by 4pm on Monday 1 September 2025.

These scholarships are open to non-current Oxley students only and are open to Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents.

Scholarships attract a reduction in tuition fees only, as determined by the Principal or their delegate. Scholarships continue while the student remains at Oxley Christian College subject to the College’s conditions outlined in the Student Code of Conduct. See Terms & Conditions.

Scholarship Candidates must be able to demonstrate in their porfolio:

• A strong commitment to Christian values and ethos held by the College.

• An ethusiasm for progress, involvement, and positive contribution to the Oxley learning environment.

• Strong effective work habits.

• Consistent attendance with a minimum of 90%.

NOTE: A modified portfolio is accepted for Prep candidates.

• Visa or other relevant information for candidates who are Australian Permanent Residents

Application Process

Portfolio Submission

Please submit a portfolio containing evidence of participation, achievement, and contribution to a school community, together with the completed copy of the Means-Tested Scholarship Cover Sheet and the School Fee Assistance Application Form in person or by email to the Principal’s PA at prinsec@oxley.vic.edu.au, by 4pm on Monday 1 September 2025.

Interview

Shortlisted applicants along with their families are invited to an interview with the Principal or other approved staff member.

Recommendation

If successful, and a place is available applicants will receive a scholarship offer and the appropriate Scholarship percentage will be awarded.

Fees

There is a $50 application fee per student for the Means-Tested Scholarship.

What A Means Tested Scholarship covers

Means-Tested Scholarships are awarded at the Principal’s discretion for a set percentage of the annual tuition fees. The number of scholarships offered, and the percentage of tuition fee remission will vary to the calibre of the candidates.

Additional charges are payable for:

• Private music lessons

• School photographs

• Oxley Institute of Sport

• similar events and programs.

Terms & Conditions

Duration of Means-Tested Scholarship

Under normal circumstances, the scholarship holder is expected to remain at Oxley Christian College until they complete Year 12.

Early Withdrawal

In the event of the student’s withdrawal prior to this time, the full value of the scholarship to the time of their withdrawal may be repayable to the College by the parent/s accepting the scholarship on behalf of the holder.

Completion of Scholarship

On completion of the scholarship, it is expected that the recipient will write a report to the Principal outlining their experience at Oxley Christian College.

Value of the Means-Tested Scholarship

Means-Tested Scholarships are awarded at the Principal’s discretion.

Changes in Financial Position

For Means-Tested Scholarships, Oxley Christian College reserves the right to request the completion of a School Fee Assistance Application Form each year for the duration of the scholarship. Families may be required to declare their financial position annually. In the event of significant changes to a family’s financial circumstances, the College reserves the right to amend the terms and amount of the scholarship at its sole discretion.

Conditions of Scholarship

Scholarships attract a reduction in tuition fees only, as determined by the Principal or their delegate. Scholarships continue while the student remains at Oxley Christian College subject to the College’s conditions outlined in the Student Code of Conduct and are also subject to periodical performance reviews through which the holder must demonstrates exemplary standards of effort, school attendance (above 90%), progress, involvement, and positive contribution to the learning environment at Oxley.

Application Fee

There is a one off $50 application fee per child per application.

Eligibility

The scholarship may not be held in conjunction with any other scholarship or bursary.

This scholarship is not open to students who are currently attending Oxley Christian College.

Students must start at Oxley Christian College in Semester 1 2026, preferably before 25 February 2026.

This information is used to assess applicants’ suitability for scholarships, as well as to give the College the ability to contact you for the purposes of disseminating information regarding the College and the scholarship program.
