Ihaveanamazingteamaroundmethataregoingtohelpbringasmuchopportunity andexperienceforthislearning.Thesuccessofthissquadwillbedowntothehard workbehindthescenesbythesecoaches,andthepassionanddesirecontributedby theplayersweekin,weekout.
TheQuinsWomen’steamhavecomealongwayoverthelast2seasonsandthatisa hugetestamenttothehardworkofPatMetcalfe-Jones.Westillhavealongwayto traveltogether,butoverthelast2leaguegameswehaveshownincrediblepassion, togethernessandtheabilitytoplayrugbyatahighlevel.Theresultshaven’tbeenable toshowthoseoutsideoftheclubtrulywhatwearecapableof,andthetalentand abilitythatwehaveonshow.However,Ihavemassivefaithinallofourplayersto continueonthepaththatwearetravelling.Theirtimewillcome,andtheytrulydeserve this.
IamhopingthatwiththedevelopmentandgrowthoftheBrookes/QuinsWomen’s ProgrammewecanstartimpactingtheGirl’sSectionattheclubandthoseatlocal schoolswhowanttoplayrugby. Withateamatthetopoftheclub,Itrulybelievethat theseyounggirlswillsoondiscoverrolemodelsandaspiretobelikethem.Thisiswhat weneed,andIthinkourplayersrealisethis.It’snotjustabouttheimmediatesenior women’steam.Thisprogrammeisaboutthegrowthofwomen’sandgirlsrugby.Ifwe canstartgettingpeopledowntowatchourgames,theywillveryquicklyrealisewhat wearecapableof,andwhatwebringtotheclubandit’spartnership.
