Como alcalde de Madrid y presidente del Club de Campo Villa de Madrid quiero dar la bienvenida a los participantes y aficionados a la hípica que se darán cita en nuestra ciudad entre el 21 y el 23 de mayo. Estamos de enhorabuena porque, tras un año de paréntesis, recuperamos un concurso muy querido, que cada año convierte a Madrid en la capital mundial de los saltos de hípica. El CSI cumple, con un año de retraso, su 110ª edición, lo que lo convierte en nuestro certamen deportivo internacional más antiguo. Y acogerá, una vez más, el Longines Global Champions Tour y la Global Champions League, convirtiéndose en escenario de la mejor competición de saltos de hípica de España, la primera competición outdoor de la temporada en Europa y la segunda del circuito en 2021. Llega, además, dos meses antes de la próxima cita olímpica, lo que anticipa un magnífico estado de forma y una extraordinaria competición deportiva. En esta edición nuestra principal preocupación será garantizar la seguridad de todos. Para ello, el Club de Campo Villa de Madrid extremará todas las precauciones, con una estricta aplicación de los protocolos sanitarios. En definitiva, estamos listos para recibir en nuestra Pista Verde, la joya de la corona del Club de Campo, a la élite de la hípica internacional. Madrid ha demostrado que se puede garantizar la celebración de eventos seguros para que la vida, la salud y el deporte, sigan yendo de la mano en esta ciudad tan abierta y acogedora. As mayor of Madrid and president of the Club de Campo Villa de MMadrid, I would like to welcome the participants and equestrian fans who will be in our city from the 21st until the 23rd of May. We are in celebration, after a year of no competition, we have recuperated a much-loved competition, which makes Madrid the world capital of show jumping each year. The CSI is one year late to its 110th edition celebration, making it our oldest international sporting event. And it will host, once again, the Longines Global Champions Tour and the Global Champions League, becoming the setting for the best equestrian jumping competition in Spain, the first outdoor competition of the season in Europe and the second on the tour in 2021. Also, the event arrives two months before the next Olympic event, which anticipates a magnificent physical shape and an extraordinary sports competition. In this edition our main concern will be to guarantee everyone’s safety. For this, the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid will take all precautions, with a strict application of health protocols. In short, we are ready to welcome the elite of international equestrianism to our Grass Arena, the jewel of Club de Campo’s crown. Madrid has shown that the holding of safe events can be guaranteed so that life, health and sport can continue to go hand in hand in this open and welcoming city. There is only left for me to give the participants the best of wishes during the event.

Después del obligado parón del año 2020, las magníficas instalaciones del Club de Campo Villa de Madrid acogerán de nuevo el Concurso Internacional de Madrid, que llega a su CX edición. Será de nuevo una competición de máximo nivel deportivo mundial, formando parte del más importante circuito internacional individual de Salto de Obstáculos al aire libre, el Longines Global Champions Tour (GCT). Muchos de los jinetes y amazonas que en el mes de agosto competirán en los JJOO de Tokyo estará en la mítica pista verde del Club de Campo, que será el mejor marco para la vuelta a la competición internacional en Madrid, que será sede por séptimo año consecutivo del GCT. El volumen de premios, las 15 pruebas que acogerá el evento (6 de ellas puntuables para el ránking internacional) y los 130 jinetes y amazonas que, con sus principales caballos, competirán en Madrid nos da garantía de un gran espectáculo. After the mandatory break in 2020, the magnificent facilities of the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid will once again host the International Competition of Madrid, which is now in its CX edition. It will once again be a top-level sporting competition in the world, forming part of the most important international individual outdoor Show Jumping tour, the Longines Global Champions Tour (GCT). Many of the riders who will compete in the Tokyo Olympics in August, will be found on the grass arena of the Club de Campo, which will be the best setting for the return to international competition in Madrid, hosting the GCT for the seventh year consecutively. The volume of prizes, the 15 competitions that the event will host (6 of them qualifying for the international ranking) and the 130 riders who will compete with their main horses in Madrid, will guarantee us a great show. More than ever in this edition, it is especially necessary to highlight and thank the interest and dedication of both Madrid’s City Council, the Organizing Committee and the Club, which have worked incredibly hard to offer fans an exemplary event and in perfect harmony with all the Sanitary measures necessary for both people and horses. Las instalaciones del Club de Campo Villa de Madrid albergan, del 21 al 23 de mayo, el 110º CSI Madrid con la participación de los mejores jinetes y amazonas del ranking mundial, una edición muy especial después de la obligada suspensión del año pasado debido a la pandemia por el coronavirus COVID-19 y que se desarrollará cumpliendo todas las medidas de seguridad sanitaria establecidas por las autoridades competentes, por la organización y por el Club en su Protocolo CCVM. Este concurso de saltos internacional es el más importante de los que se celebran en nuestro país y forma parte del Longines Global Champions Tour y del Global Champions Tour, el circuito hípico más prestigioso del mundo. Se ha trabajado sin descanso para hacer realidad el regreso del CSI a la Pista Verde del Club. Por eso, y este año con mayor ilusión, deseo dar mi más cordial bienvenida a todos los participantes y aficionados que nos visitarán este fin de semana en nuestras magníficas instalaciones. El circuito que vio la luz en 2007 y que, 14 años después, se ha convertido en el tour más importante del mundo. Además, el Club de Campo Villa de Madrid volverá a ser sede de la Global Champions League, la liga de equipos que se disputa junto al circuito individual. La ciudad de Madrid acoge el primer gran evento hípico outdoor del año en Europa. El reto es ambicioso y hemos implementado un protocolo anti-covid para poder celebrar la competición con máxima seguridad a pesar de la pandemia. En Oxer Sport nos sentimos afortunados por ser coorganizadores, junto al CCVM, de este increíble evento. Pero a la vez sentimos una enorme responsabilidad porque la historia del CSI de Madrid y su espectacular palmarés nos obligan buscar la excelencia organizativa. The International Equestrian Event of Madrid celebrates 110 editions and it does so, one more year, as part of the Longines Global Champions Tour. The tour started its journey in 2007 and, 14 years later has become the world´s most important tour. Additionally, the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid will host once again the Global Champions League, the team league that takes place alongside the individual tour. The city of Madrid hosts the first important outdoor equestrian event of the year in Europe. The challenge is ambitious and we have implemented and anti-covid protocol to be able to hold the competition with maximum safety despite the pandemic. El Concurso de Saltos Internacional de Madrid comenzó su andadura en el año 1907 en las instalaciones que el Club de Campo tenía en el Paseo de la Castellana. Unos años después se trasladó a la pista principal del Club (situada entre el río Manzanares y la Casa de Campo). Durante los años 1936, 1937, 1938 y 1939 el Concurso no se celebró debido a la Guerra Civil Española. Desde 1907 hasta nuestros días el Concurso se ha ido consolidando y en la actualidad es considerado como uno de los más prestigiosos eventos que se celebran en nuestra capital y es cita ineludible para los mejores jinetes y amazonas del mundo. Actualmente el CSI tiene lugar en la pista de hierba del Club de Campo, con capacidad para 10.000 personas, y que pasa por ser la instalación hípica de saltos más espectacular de Europa. El Concurso de Saltos Internacional de Madrid se celebra tradicionalmente en estas fechas de mayo. En 2010 el evento cumplió su edición 100 y se trasladó al mes de septiembre para hacerlo coincidir con el Campeonato de Europa de Salto de Obstáculos, que se celebró durante el mes de septiembre de 2011 en el Club de Campo Villa de Madrid y fue un gran éxito tanto organizativo como deportivo. Madrid, y en concreto la pista central del CCVM será por unos días el epicentro de la hípica mundial. En esta edición el programa del CSI de Madrid constará de 15 pruebas que se disputarán durante tres días de competición. The International Show Jumping Competition of Madrid was first held in 1970, in the Club de Campo’s facilities that in that time were in Paseo de la Castellana. Years later it was moved to the main arena of the Club (located between the Manzanares river and the Casa de Campo). During the years 1936, 1937, 1938 and 1939 the competition couldn’t be held due to the Spanish Civil War. From 1907 to the present day, the Competition has been consolidated and is currently considered one of the most prestigious events held in our capital and is an unmissable event for the best riders in the world. Currently the CSI takes place on the grass arena of the Club de Campo, with a 10,000 people capacity, and which happens to be the most spectacular show jumping facility in Europe. The International Show Jumping Competition of Madrid is traditionally held on these dates in May. In 2010 the event reached its 100th edition but was moved to September to coincide with the European Show Jumping Championship, which was held during the month of September 2011 at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid and was a great organizational and sporting success. Madrid, and specifically the main arena of the CCVM will be for a few days the epicenter of the equestrian world. In this edition the CSI of Madrid sports program will consist of 15 classes that will take place during three days of competition. Edu vs Sergio Rivales en las pistas de competición y amigos fuera de ellas, Eduardo Álvarez Aznar y Sergio Álvarez Moya han marcado toda una generación dentro de la hípica española. Los dos, jóvenes y con trayectorias similares, han llegado a ganarse un hueco entre los mejores jinetes del ranking mundial. Mientras que Eduardo viene de una familia ecuestre, recordemos que su padre Luis Álvarez Cervera ha sido uno de los mejores jinetes de la historia de nuestro país 7 veces olímpico, Sergio nunca ha tenido tradición hípica en su casa. A pesar de ello, Sergio siempre ha tenido el apoyo de su familia desde que empezó en el mundo de los caballos cuando solo tenía siete años y su tío le llevaba a la escuela de equitación de Avilés, donde nació. Con 16 años ganó los Campeonatos de España y de Europa. Fue a los 18 cuando se mudó a Bélgica para seguir formándose y profesionalizarse como jinete. Con esfuerzo y tesón logró posicionarse como uno de los mejores jinetes del ranking mundial, campeón de España en dos ocasiones, ha participado en 7 campeonatos de Europa, medalla de plata en los Juegos Mediterráneos de 2009, tiene clasificaciones para la final de la Copa del Mundo y numerosas victorias en Grandes Premios 5*. En 2016 cumplió su sueño de participar en los JJOO de Río de Janeiro formando equipo con su amigo Eduardo Álvarez Aznar. Madrileño de nacimiento Eduardo empezó a montar a caballo con tres años, junto a su hermana Alejandra, en el Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. Al terminar el colegio, cuando ya empezaba a despuntar en la competición hípica, se marchó a entrenar a Suiza con Thomas Fuchs y ahí empezó su carrera profesional. Gracias a la magnífica trayectoria que ha luchado por tener, ahora ocupa el puesto 46 del Longines ranking FEI. 4 campeonatos de Europa, dos finales de Copa del Mundo, dos Juegos Ecuestres Mundiales e infinidad de victorias en Grandes Premios 5* como la del pasado 2 de mayo en el CSI5* en St Tropez ...

Qué es lo que más admiráis el uno del otro. EDU: Suelo fijarme mucho en todos los jinetes, siempre se puede aprender algo. En Sergio, admiro su competitividad y su serenidad en los momentos más importantes. SERGIO: Su dedicación y tenacidad. Si pudierais montar un caballo del otro, ¿Cuál sería?. EDU: Sergio ha tenido muchos caballos muy buenos pero sin duda CARLO. SERGIO: Lo tengo claro, Rocky (Rockfeller de Pleville Bois Margot) Mejor show del circuito Longines Global Champions Tour. la sede española! Un recuerdo especial del CSI Madrid. EDU: El poder saltar en Madrid ya es especial en sí. Quizá el primer mejor recuerdo fue cuando gané la potencia. SERGIO: Yo recuerdo con mucho cariño cuando gané la Copa de SM el Rey con Zipper en 2012. Qué es lo que más valoras de un evento de estas características para que lo consideres perfecto. EDU: Que las instalaciones para los caballos estén en buenas condiciones. Boxes y pistas bien cuidados y que los accesos sean buenos y fáciles. SERGIO: Para mí lo más importante es la acomodación de los caballos y después que haya buen ambiente.

EDU: Siempre busco que sean caballos honestos, competitivos y capaces de saltar pruebas de primer nivel. SERGIO: Son muchas las variables que tengo en cuenta, pero lo principal es que sea un LUCHADOR. Destaca lo mejor de Rockfeller y Álamo. EDU: Rockefeller es todo corazón y buena voluntad. SERGIO: Álamo tiene mucho instinto en la pista. Cómo preparas tu cabeza y tu concentración antes de un show como LGCT Madrid. EDU: Como cualquier otro concurso, cada semana saltamos en sitios diferentes y siempre intento hacerlo

lo mejor posible. SERGIO: Pues te tengo que decir que no tengo ninguna preparación especial. Consejo para futuras promesas del deporte ecuestre. EDU: Tanto si quieres dedicarte a esto como a otra cosa, hay que ser constante y trabajador. Edu vs Sergio Rivals in the arenas and friends outside of them, Eduardo Álvarez Aznar and Sergio Álvarez Moya have marked an entire generation of Spanish equestrians. Both, young and with similar trajectories, have been able to win their own place between the best riders in the world ranking. Whilst Eduardo comes from an equestrian background, recalling that his father Luis Álvarez Cervera has been one of the best riders from our seven times olympic country, Sergio has never had that tradition in his home. However, since he started in the equestrian world, Sergio has always had his family’s support. When he was only seven his uncle would take him to a horse riding school in Avilés, where he was born. At 16 years of age he won the Spanish and European Championships. At 18 he moved to Belgium to continue his training to fully become a professional rider. With great effort and perseverance he was able to position himself as one of the best riders of the world ranking, Spanish Champion in two occasions, participated in 7 European Championships, achieved the silver medal in the 2009 Mediterranean Games, has qualifications to participate in the World Cup, and many victories in 5* Competitions. In 2016, he achieved his dream of participating in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, being on the team with his friend Eduardo Álvarez Aznar. Madrid born, Eduardo started riding when he was just three years old, with his sister Alejandra, in the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. When he finished school he was already standing out in the horse riding competitions, leading him to move to Switzerland to train with Thomas Fuchs, where his professional career began. Thanks to the magnificent trajectory he has fought to have, he is now 46th in the FEI Longines Ranking. Four European Championships, two World Cup finals, two World Equestrian Games, and an infinity of victories in 5* Competitions, like at the CSI5* Madrid, this past 2nd of May.

What do you admire most from each other? EDU: I usually focus on all riders. You can always learn something. From Sergio, I admire his competitiveness and his serenity in the most important moments. SERGIO: His dedication and persistence If you could ride one of each other’s horses, which one would it be? EDU: Sergio has had lots of good horses, but without a doubt Carlo. It has something special apart from it

being the Spanish venue. A special memory from the CSI Madrid? EDU: Being able to jump in Madrid is already special in itself. Maybe the best memory is when I won the puissance. SERGIO: I dearly remember when I won the King’s Cup with Zipper in 2012 What do you value the most from an event of these characteristics so that you could consider it perfect? EDU: That the facilities are in the right conditions for the horses. Boxes and arenas are well taken care of, and the accesses are good and easy. SERGIO: To me the most important is the horses’ accommodation, and that there is a good ambience.

EDU: I always look for honest horses, competitive and that are able to jump first level competitions. SERGIO: There are a lot of variables I take into account, but the main thing is that it is a fighter. What stands out from Rockfeller and Álamo? EDU: Rockfeller is all heart and goodwill SERGIO: Álamo has a lot of instinct in the arena. How do you prepare your mind and concentration for a show like LGCT Madrid? EDU: Just like any other competition, each week we jump in different places, always trying to do it the best way possible.

SERGIO: I have to say I don’t have any special preparation. Advice for any future promises of the equestrian sport EDU: If you want to dedicate your life to this or any other thing, you have to be consistant and hard working. SERGIO: Be aware to learn from everyone, and most importantly enjoy the horse as an animal. Let’s bet, who do you think will win the Longines Global Champions Tour Madrid Grand Prix? Madrid in Motion equipo anfitrión de este 110 CSI Madrid Longines Global Champions Tour Madrid Madrid in Motion es uno de esos equipos que se unió en 2016 a la recién estrenada Global Champions League y, cinco años después, ya presume de haber subido al podio de las dos únicas grandes finales disputadas hasta ahora, los Play Offs de Praga. En 2018, levantaban la más que merecida copa y, un año después, terminaban orgullosos en una tercera posición.

Único español integrante del equipo y el mejor que podíamos tener. Hijo del jinete 7 veces olímpico Luis Álvarez Cervera, Eduardo ocupa actualmente el puesto 46 del ranking mundial y gracias a él, España tendrá una plaza para representar al país en los JJOO de Tokio este próximo verano.

El 16 del mundo ha competido en dos Juegos Olímpicos con medalla de plata por equipos en Londres, medalla de oro por equipos también en los Juegos Ecuestres Mundiales, ha clasificado para 5 finales de Copa del Mundo y en 2014 ganó la final de la Copa de Naciones con su país e individual. Un palmarés que pocos jinetes logran en toda una carrera deportiva.

Padre de Maikel y jinete de renombre en el mundo ecuestre. Eric ha sido, además de un jinete muy destacado, entrenador del equipo nacional de España durante cuatro temporadas. Hombre de caballos con gran conocimiento del sector y que ejerce de jefe de equipo de Madrid in Motion.

The only Spanish member of the team and the best we could have. Son of the 7-time Olympian rider Luis Álvarez Cervera, Eduardo is currently ranked 52 in the world rankings and thanks to him, Spain will have a place to represent the country at the Tokyo Olympics this coming summer.

Current number 16th of the world, has competed in two Olympic games with a team silver medal in London, a team gold medal also at the World Equestrian Games, has qualified for 5 World Cup finals and in 2014 won the Nations Cup final with his country and individually. A record that few riders achieve in an entire sporting career.

Madrid in Motion host team of this 110 CSI Madrid Longines Global Champions Tour Madrid Madrid in Motion is one of those teams that joined the recently launched Global Champions League in 2016 and, five years later, can say that they have been on the podium of the only two major finals played so far, the Prague Play Offs. In 2018, they raised the very deserved cup and, a year later, they finished proudly in third position.

La amazona belga es la imagen femenina del equipo. Ha sido miembro del equipo belga en varias Copas de Naciones y es el ejemplo de conciliación entre ser madre y deportista de primer nivel.

Jinete sub 25 del equipo, el joven irlandés comenzó a competir a nivel internacional a la edad de 16 años. Representó a su país por primera vez en 2013 en la Copa de Naciones Junior de Hagen. Desde entonces sus progresos le han permitido competir por todo el mundo clasificando en numerosos eventos de gran nivel.

Este jinete irlandés recibió en 2017 el premio “Rookie del año” por sus buenos resultados. Ahora vive afincado en sus propias cuadras en Francia y en su palmarés acumula numerosas victorias en grandes premios 5*.

The Belgian rider is the female face of the team. She has been a member of the Belgian team in several Nations Cups and is the example of conciliation between being a mother and a top athlete.

The under 25 rider of the team, the young Irishman began competing internationally at the age of 16. He represented his country for the first time in 2013 at the June Hagen Nations Cup. Since then, his progress has allowed him to compete around the world, qualifying in numerous highlevel events.

This Irish rider received the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award in 2017 for his great results. He now lives in his own stables in France and on his record he has accumulated numerous 5 * Grand Prix victories.

Además, la marca británica estará presente con un stand propio en el Club de Campo Villa de Madrid donde el nuevo Land Rover Defender será una de las grandes estrellas gracias a su resistencia, durabilidad y funcionalidad que le convierten en un vehículo preparado para el siglo XXI e imparable en cualquier lugar. De 12 a 20h todos los asistentes que se acerquen al stand de Land Rover tendrán la oportunidad de solicitar una prueba dinámica de este emblemático modelo, tanto en carretera como 4x4 donde se podrán a prueba la excelentes prestaciones todoterreno de este icónico modelo. Además del Land Rover Defender, los asistentes al evento podrán ver de primera mano el Range Rover Fifty, una edición limitada del auténtico SUV Premium fabricado con motivo del cincuenta aniversario del modelo.
