I am always so very grateful for the time the members of ORWF give to this organization. Thank you to the members who worked at the San Diego Fair registering voters on Sunday June 8th. Especially to Pam Chambers and Pam Connolly who worked the whole day from 10am until 10pm. Please take the time to read this newsletter, we have so many things happening in June. We are going to have fun and we are going to work hard to make a difference each and every day in our community. All we need is you! Special Membership event, Friday evening June 20th. Mary Baker Local Activism
Mary Baker is a graduate of Middlebury College and ac6ng President of the San Diego/Orange County Chapter for the non-‐profit organiza6on, Ci#zens’ Alliance for Property Rights. Mary is also on the board of CA Eagle Forum and the San Diego County Federated Republican Women and is currently developing a RWF Local Ac6vism ini6a6ve for the County of San Diego.Mary is a blogger who researches and writes ar6cles and opinions on the impacts of sustainable development on property rights and our na6on’s sovereignty. In 2012, she co-‐ published Dimensions of Sustainability, a report designed to help elected officials navigate smart growth implementa6on strategies. Last year, this report was incorporated into a larger publica6on, Sustainable Development in California, and is available on Amazon.com.In 2013, Mary launched a workshop and an accompanying training manual called How to Become a Ci#zen NinjaTM. We will be going on a guided tour of the Camp Pendleton Ranch House on Thursday, June 19th at 10 am. We will meet at the Marina Towers parking lot off Ocean Harbor Drive at 9:40 and carpool in together. If you are not sure where that is, call me Candi and I will give you the exact directions. Make sure you have ID and registration. The tour is really interesting, so don’t miss it. Help us work to keep our conservative City Council. The unions have put up their candidate, Chuck Lowery. We at ORWF are ready and willing to help Jerry Kern and Gary Felien continue to work for the taxpayers of Oceanside. We will be staffing the Republican Headquarters in Oceanside and we are going to need volunteers. Call Saundra Waecker at 760-‐‑492-‐‑1774. Help us push back against special interest money and union influence. This is not the time to let our conservative majority change on the Oceanside City Council. The Republican Headquarters in Oceanside will be serving all of North County and we have some outstanding state Republican Candidates that are going to need our help from now through the November election. It’s election season and we need to turn California bright, beautiful, Republican Red.

Politics Legislation: Sacramento
AB 2372 would make it easier to raise property taxes on commercial properties when they change hands. This bill weakens Prop 13! It is currently in the Senate Rules Committee waiting for its committee assignment. AB 1522 would require California employers to provide paid sick leave to all employees who work just 7 calendar days in a year. They would receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked. This would cost California employers a fortune and many would flee the state. AB 1522 is being heard on Wednesday, June 11th, in the Senate Labor and Industrial Relations Committee at 9:30am. and the Courts The US government has forced the state of Oklahoma to overturn its anti-Sharia bill, after a Muslim man sued the state for supposed violations against “freedom of religion.” The state must also pay $303,333 to this man for legal fees, costs and nontaxable expenses. 70% of Oklahomans wanted the anti-Sharia bill, and trusted that the state would maintain it, but this decision shows that the government cannot be trusted. According to Jordan Sekulow, “At its core, the amendment has nothing to do with infringing on a Muslim’s right to practice Islam or religious freedom generally. This amendment is about “judicial authority,” and is not a ‘demonization’ of Islam.” Source: FreedomOutpost.com
