Season Summary
Andy Hodkinson
Our Spring series is in full swing with only one race to go before we wrap up for a well-deserved break for the Christmas and New Year period, in contention for the trophy are Feelin Free and Whim Away with Panache also close to the current leaders.
The weather throughout the Spring series has proved tricky, testing both boats and crew with the weather giving us a variety of conditions.
The last Spring series race is on the 10th December and series honours will be hotly contested between these three boats.
We have completed the second day of racing in the North Coast series competing with Hillarys Yacht Club with 6 races over 3 days left to go.
The standings are tight and we have an even spread of boats from both clubs placing in the top three positions in the races.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Rotto Run: 7th and 8th January 2023
A big thank you to everyone involved to make this happen and an even bigger thank you to the volunteers on the start and support boats.
After Christmas we start our Summer season of racing and before we venture out for the 2023 competitive racing on the social side the sailing section is kicking off the New Year with a ‘Rotto Run’ on the weekend of the 7th and 8th of January 2023.
Historically a couple boats have previously joined up to make the trip and this will be one of our first organised trips as a sailing section to the island and I’m personally very excited for the trip.
Wishing everyone a happy Christmas and a happy New Year and I’ll see you out on the water in 2023.
