The dive section had it’s annual Rottnest dive weekend on the weekend of 25th March we had a good turnout of around 20 members who made their way to Rottnest. The weather was forecasted to be a average so everyone got the ferry across which meant no diving , however a bbq lunch on Saturday was great fun. Graham Hindley has been very busy with students trying to get them qualified for diving which has been a challenge for him getting the divers together at the same time. The dive meeting’s have been well attended with 20 to 30 members coming along as with the dine in.
Graham Hindley has been kept busy trying to coordinate dive students to complete their course which has been a challenge to get them all together on the same day.

Summary of the Annual Rottnest Dive Trip
Helen Grimes
The annual Dive Section trip ended up not being an ocean dive but a Rotto discovery dive due to the pending cyclonic weather forecast, which didn’t eventuate!
With the difficulty to secure accommodation to cater for up to 20 people, as much as Jan endeavoured to amend the situation, the group was spread over both sides of the Island from Governors Circle to Geordie Bay. So foot power, e-bikes and the Island bus system were utilised to the max.
The Covid restrictions provided entertainment and frustrations whilst at the pub for refreshments and dinner, but all in all the banter was good.
Despite the pending weather forecast the Island put on sparkling sunshine and spectacular cloud formations, a short rain shower at mid-day on Saturday was all we were delivered . Sunday was a grey day but still warm, with a slight swell for the ferry journey home.
Snorkelling at Little Salmon Bay was pretty spectacular, with an abundance of fish to be spotted- Cray fish, ray, cobbler, juvenile Due fish and spectacular colours in the corals. E-biking to West End and around to Geordie Bay for the tourists, was well received.
Saturday BBQ and Banter at Geordie Bay proved to be a gourmet spread of food and beverages.
Oh! And the Saturday "Gin & lime Tasters" in Governors Circle proved to be a hit!!!
