USBAND and wife Jeffrey and Patricia Burrows started High Seat Limited in 1968. Operating as a mail-order business for nearly 40 years with a factory showroom in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, they opened their Letchworth showroom, the first of their retail stores, in 1995.

Now known as HSL and owned by second generation William and Debra Burrows, the company employs over 500 people and has established a reputation for quality and service, handcrafting well-built, beautifully upholstered comfort furniture. In autumn 2014, HSL’s Orpington store became the first in the South of England to open in a High Street location. Five years on its success has been celebrated with a comprehensive refurb, an occasion marked with a visit from Mayor of Bromley, Cllr. Nicholas Bennet.

Karen Godfrey (Area Manager), Matt Farrar (Head of Retail), Terri Read (Team Leader), Lisa-Marie (Comfort Specialist), Cllr. Nicolas Bennet, Guy Critchlow (CEO of HSL) and Orpington 1st Chairman Martin Price. 24
