Our Building Trades training programs teach students the important skills they need to start and succeed in their chosen field. We focus on hands-on learning and practical instruction using the latest tools, equipment, and technology.
This 60-credit evening program operates on a hybrid schedule with online and in-person classes. This program provides students with the technical skills needed to successfully manage a construction project from start to finish. It also offers a comprehensive understanding of a construction manager’s role throughout the building process.

Our Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Heating program teaches the skills to diagnose, maintain, and repair residential air conditioning and commercial air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment.
In this hands-on classroom, you will work with freezers, cold rooms, and ice machines. You’ll be taught current technology relating to central air conditioning and window units, heat pumps, gas and oil-fired furnaces, and related ductwork.

Our Building Maintenance program teaches diverse skills needed to maintain and renovate commercial and residential properties. You will learn basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning maintenance. Training also includes painting, papering, and tiling. You’ll acquire skills in appliance repair and receive an introduction to green technology and energy efficiency in the trades. You’ll also learn safety precautions for building maintenance tasks, with a focus on the proper use of hand and power tools.

Our Carpentry program offers hands-on training in essential construction skills. Students will build a house to scale to learn framing, drywall, rough and fine finishing, siding, shingle roofing, and door and window installation. Additionally, you will construct a full-size deck and staircase. The program also covers blueprint reading, safety practices, and trade mathematics.

Program Overview:
8 Month - Day
Our Plumbing & Heating program teaches you how to design and build a working bathroom with a toilet, sink, and bathtub. You’ll learn to install water and drainage lines, using both hot and cold water. The program also covers installing and servicing hot water heaters (electric, gas, and oil). You’ll be taught how to install and repair forced hot air heaters, related ductwork, and hydronic heaters with radiators or baseboard units. All tasks and lessons follow current local building codes.

Our Residential & Commercial Electricity program teaches you how to design, install, troubleshoot, replace, upgrade, and maintain electrical systems in homes and businesses according to the National Electrical Code. You’ll learn how to identify, care for, and use electrical tools and equipment properly, as well as the math needed in the electrical trade. You will also study basic electrical theory, control systems, and both single-phase and multi-phase electrical motors.

Our Healthcare training programs focus on hands-on practice with the latest technology, equipment, and techniques. They provide students with the essential skills and knowledge to start and succeed in their careers.
Our Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) program combines classroom instruction and hands-on practical assignments. You will also have an opportunity to complete onsite externships with employer partners such as Temple Health, Penn Medicine, and Jefferson Health. Your laboratory experience will include hands-on work collecting vital signs, handling EKGs, administering medications, and more.

Clinical Medical Assistants work in a variety of healthcare settings, including doctor’s offices, clinics, and hospitals.

5 Week Externship - Day
The 52-week, full-time Practical Nursing (PN) program offers instruction with a mix of classroom, lab, and hands-on clinical experience. You will learn a variety of medical skills, from taking vital signs to giving vaccinations and other injections. To enter the program, you must take the TEAS entrance exam and score at least 48.

Practical Nurses work in a variety of health settings, including doctor’s offices, clinics, and hospitals.
