CENTRAL ASIA

Humanitarian Aid in Ukraine & Moldova

Kazakhstan – Almaty

Praise the Lord for successful distribution of the H/A consignment from UK in Georgia. Slava, our Base Leader there, writes: "When we arrived in Telavi, we could unload the vehicle and store the boxes in the house belonging to the pastor of a local church. Koba, a former Ebenezer representative, and Mariana, the leader of a charity ministry in the church, in Tbilisi, helped us with the distribution of the aid. As a result,107 people received the aid. All Jewish people were grateful to Ebenezer for the help. Among them there were some families willing to go to Israel." We give thanks to the Lord for projects accomplished in Moscow and Moldova providing medicines for the Holocaust survivors. Hundreds of those who survived ghettos and Nazi concentration camps were blessed by Ebenezer workers and volunteers with needed medicines.

Zhanna shares some insights surrounding the July flights when 36 olim made aliyah. There is wonderful cooperation with Christian brothers from the Ezra Fund, who help Zhanna by meeting the olim at the station taking them to where they stay and then picking them up at around 2am for the flight from Almaty to Tel Aviv. They bring all the support and help they can, which includes praying for the olim not to be afraid of the customs officers, who usually try to swindle them by taking money. The Jewish Agency representatives who were at the airport to see the olim off were surprised to see them passing through the customs control so fast! The Lord had answered prayer! Zhanna writes: ‘We

RUSSIA Smolensk Anna with a team visited Jewish families in villages in Kostroma. She was grateful to a volunteer from Yarosalvl church, who drove them by car. When a Jewish community in Kostroma knew that they would go by car they asked Anna to take medicines to a very isolated village in Loparevo. It was very difficult to get there, but Anna is convinced of the importance of visiting these remote places.

Since then they have been supporting the family with all kinds of assistance including food, medicines & paying for their trips to regional centres to obtain documents. NTH QLD VISIT

FINANCE We continue to give thanks to our Lord for: ▪ His faithfulness ▪ His provision of finances to meet our needs Not only has He provided for our every day operations, but has wonderfully supplied the finances for additional unforeseen, unbudgeted projects at the beginning of the year, such as the UK Aliyah flight. When discussions commenced with the Jewish Agency, we had no spare funds available, but we believed that this union was of the Lord and He would provide the needed funds. This He has done so wonderfully through the faithful prayers of our intercessors and our supporters. Please pray for: ▪ regular consistent giving to meet our daily operational needs in the fSU & for the increasing needs in Israel to help the Olim settle in the Land ▪ the Finance Steering Group, who meet together in the first weekend of September to review our worldwide accounts & budgets & to plan for 2010 ▪ the Lord to guide, direct & show us His priorities with many developments taking place in the nations We ask for unity of the team & for God’s wisdom, as we desire to be good stewards of what He entrusts to our care
