Letter From Australian Chairman - Tom Jewett Almost from the beginning of the Ebenezer Emergency Fund, now referred to as ‘Operation Exodus’, those who have been involved with organisation & administration have been scattered all over Australia. It has always been a source of amazement to me that the Team has worked so well together and the ministry has continued to evolve and expand, so that today the Team in Australia could be described as the ‘main cog’ in what is now Operation Exodus South East Asia & Oceania. Ultimately, this is God’s doing since he has called us all to have a part of this work, which is now more urgent than ever before. Considering current events, and especially in the Middle East. I don’t believe that we should naively be lulled into the deception of thinking that the Arab Nations are going to evolve into Western Style Democracies, but rather the shadowy figures which control Islam are embarked on establishing a Multi National Caliphate with Sharia Law Government with it’s aim the destruction of Israel. This understanding of the present situation is shared by many eminent Christians and experts on Middle East Affairs. I am grateful to know that according to the Scriptures that God has everything under control as He draws this age to its conclusion. I believe that we should take note of the urgency of the times, as we apply ourselves to the calling God has given us, & not allow ourselves to be diverted; as the ‘Powers of Darkness’ gather their forces against us, both corporately & individually. Over the years that OE has been operating, Spiritual warfare has been a constant reality; Satan has various strategies for attempting to divide the Team, dominating individuals, deception, ambition, personal agendas, false doctrine, innuendo & spiritual bondage. In the fifteen years or more that I have been associated with EEFA, this has been a constant menace to the effectiveness of the whole operation from top to bottom. Only being constantly alert, with all the spiritual armour & weapons described in Ephesians 6 and with much prayer, has the enemy been defeated, so that we remain in harmony & trust of one another. From an Administration perspective it is better to be discreet about some of the skirmishes we have had with Satan, which have involved a good deal of anguish;

however, at the end of the Day, I would emphasise that it was always through prayer and God’s strategy and intervention that won the battle, not any decision of man. There would not be any effective Christian Ministry which has not had these battles; it is a part of every Christian’s life. Finally, it is with pleasure that I look forward to the upcoming Fellowship & Information Day on Saturday 2nd April, and know that with a common purpose and in unity, the Lord commands his blessing. Moscow Region • Please pray for the regional representatives who work strenuously to bring the understanding of aliyah & the help that Ebenezer can offer to the Jewish families in their areas. During these visits many special need situations come to light & support is given wherever possible. Visits to synagogues cement friendships & open up conversations bringing a confidence & trust to ask for, & receive, help in different situations. The quality of relationships with the Jewish Agency is shown through the following testimony: The Jewish Agency leader in Bryansk, Galina Dobina, received a letter of thanks from the Jewish Agency of Russia for “The best aliyah & successful activity”. When Galina shared her success with Ebenezer she said that if there was no cooperation between her & Ebenezer she would not succeed in the same way.. • In Kostroma Anna visited 12 families whose addresses were given her by friends. She found that almost all of them are afraid of what is happening in Russia & she reminded them of the times of the hunters (Jeremiah 16:16) & told them not to wait for these times before choosing to go to Israel. • Throughout the regions there are contacts with pastors & prayer meetings are arranged. Donations are given to Ebenezer by believers & some churches donate regularly. Please pray for: The health & strength of each regional representative & helper. The relationships with the Jewish Agency, Jewish organisations & synagogue congregations to be maintained & further developed into deep trusting friendships. The fear experienced in the lives of Jewish people about what is happening around them will cause them to choose to go home to Israel. Revelation of God’s call to the church to be understood by an increasing number of pastors & for a strong network of volunteers to be involved in helping the aliyah. Ukraine • Over 2 years ago, through a gift from our UK supporters, Ebenezer purchased a washing machine for an elderly lady living in Kiev who takes care of 3 of her grandchildren. When we shared about aliyah to Israel she was quite strict that she & all her grandchildren will stay in Ukraine. The LORD has done an amazing work in her heart – her middle grandson Boris made aliyah in February 2011. We pray & believe that HE will gather all the family in the Land as He always completes His work. Georgia & Armenia • A flight from Tbilisi in January took 22 olim to Israel. The head of the Jewish Agency, Avi, has suggested that Ebenezer & the JA visit Jewish families together in some of the regions. Due to some problems that arose at the Customs on the border between Georgia & Armenia the leadership of the JA took the decision to send olim from Armenia to Israel from the airport in Yerevan with the first flight in February. Slava writes: ‘We continue to pray for Israel & aliyah from Georgia & Armenia. We are thankful to the LORD for all the answers to our prayers, as well as for the ones we are to receive in future. We believe that God will bring to

completion the good work He has started in Georgia & Armenia.’ Please bring prayer support for Slava & Arsen to be strengthened & guided by the LORD as they watch & work for the fulfilment of His purposes in their nations. Moldova • Pavel shared about the Marin family & the help that was given them by Ebenezer to make aliyah in Dec. A correspondent in the local Jewish newspaper wrote an article about them in January. In it the mother of the four girls said: “We have hard times. I had to work 20 hours a day to provide for the family & for the girls who were going to Israel on Jewish Agency programmes in particular. I am very thankful to Ebenezer Emergency Fund in Moldova for the assistance we have been given, including help with the documents, clothes for the girls & transport to the airport. Pavel & his team always met me at the station & accompanied me to different places in Chishinau, which I hardly know. I cannot imagine what I would have done without them!” After reading this article another family in Blatsy remembered a visit Pavel had made to discuss aliyah with them. They were just thinking about it when Pavel came to visit them & found they are planning to apply for Israeli visas in the spring! On this same visit to Blatsy Pavel met another Jewish woman who was also thinking about Israel & with whom he shared more about aliyah & God’s call to His people to return to their land. Praise the Lord for these divine appointments in answer to Pavel’s prayer. Please pray for the visits to Jewish families to bear much fruit: for them to be encouraged to make aliyah. Pray for more open doors to churches & pastor’s meetings. China • We praise the Lord that after carrying China & the Jews in China in our hearts for many years, now is the time that the Lord has called a prayer leader forward. Thanksgiving for the raising up of a prayer leader in China! Please pray for the birthing of prayer groups for Ebenezer & aliyah in the region where our prayer leader lives. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give guidance & discernment for a network of prayer to be formed. Australia • Saturday 16th April: Jay & Danielle will be leading a Passover celebration in Brisbane, & speaking about aliyah & Operation Exodus. Pastors & intercessors from a variety of churches are expected to attend. Please pray that the powers of darkness would not be able to hinder any from coming; that the Holy Spirit would anoint Jay & Dani to bring words of truth; that hearts would be prepared & receive revelation concerning Israel & aliyah, & that this event would open further doors of opportunity in Brisbane churches. • Engage Israel: Australia is in the foundational stages. Katie is in the process of establishing a team & setting the groundwork & building blocks to raise awareness, prayer & intercession within the next generation across this nation. It is only through prayer & intercession & being on their knees before the LORD that ENGAGE ISRAEL: AUSTRALIA will be established & flourish.

Pray for the establishment of the team in Australia & for the LORD to bring those whom He is calling; that HE would place a stirring in their hearts for this time & that He would raise up the right people with His heart & passion. Pray that our foundations would be set in Him, that everything about ENGAGE ISRAEL: AUSTRALIA would be about the LORD GOD OF ISRAEL from the very start. Israel • Sara is a 79 year old lady that made aliyah from France. She has been struggling to settle in the land. Her family is also in the land but is not able to assist her. She needs accommodation. Please pray that we will soon find a good & safe place for Sara to live. • Jeremiah made aliyah from USA last year. He has struggled to settle in the land. He continues to look for a good place to stay & also to settle in an area where he can start to study at an Ulpan (language class) & find good work. He has no family in Israel. Both Iris & Shirley have spent time with Jeremiah to encourage him & try to assist him to find good accommodation. Please pray for friendship, work & accommodation for Jeremiah. Engage • Preparations are under way for the Engage UK teaching weekend under the theme “Israel, why should I care?” taking place 6-8 May 2011 at Cefn Lea Park conference centre, mid Wales. We hope, pray & believe for at least 50-80 delegates. Please pray for: • the steering team: Luke, Simon, Stephen, Paul, Melissa, Ken, Jeff & Andy, for unity & to know the mind of the LORD for strategy in preparation & teaching in the conference • open hearts of young Christians in the UK so they will hear God’s call as the promotional material reaches them • the necessary financial means to cover expenses --------------------------------------------------
