On a day commonly referred to as “Giving Tuesday”, OSA artists hit the road to offer Holiday Pop-Up performances across the city. Rather than solicit donations on this international day of giving, we choose to give back to our community by spreading holiday cheer through traditional carols sprinkled with opera classics. Last season, we offered a total of 15 holiday performances in 10 venues across the city including the VA Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital, the Morgan's Wonderland Multi-Assistance Center (MAC), Main Plaza, Tobin Plaza, and 5 H-E-B locations.

o

"I just wanted to thank you and your team for coming out to SLB and... It was WONDERFUL!

I have gotten so many compliments throughout the week during my rounding. All of the patients and staff that were able to hear you thought it was magical and many have even shared stories that it brought them to tears. I think this is just what people needed as we kick off this holiday season.

We would love to have you back next year and hope to make this a tradition moving forward."

"It was so nice to meet you yesterday and your group was just amazing! Everyone at the VA was thrilled and I’m so glad your performances were able to reach so many people. I appreciate your flexibility in working with the VA and their needs. I think it turned out great!"

As a recipient of a grant from the Bexar County Arts Internship Program, OPERA San Antonio was able to employ a summer intern to work directly with the Education Coordinator to assist in a range of programs and activities including: development of seasonal education resources, assistance in facilitating the Summer Voice Program, and help with marketing needs. Over the course of the summer, intern Alexander Montalvo received mentorship on how to work in all major areas of an arts organization including operations, development, fundraising, marketing, advertising, and outreach initiatives.
