SEPTEMBER 2019 FROM THE DESK OF THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT Dear God's partner in the Marketplace, In the daily life of the Israelites, they believe that every word has power, so they decided to pronounce curses or blessings in their words. This is also written in the Bible, that the words of God's children have power.

Words arise from the treasury of our hearts, what most filled our hearts will be spilled in our words. What fills the treasury of our hearts comes from what we see, read, think, and the more that is true the truer our treasury is.

The Word of God says guard your heart with all vigilance because that's where life radiates, if life that radiates from our lives how blessed is this life, the lives of others around us maybe even a larger community? Nothing is impossible.

Because for HIM, nothing is impossible to change us, to change the marketplace, to change the nation.

As an ICCC member, I am reminded of these extraordinary words "NO Victory Without a Battle, No Testimony Without a Test, No Triumph Without a Trial".

Certainly to radiate life requires struggle, but if our hearts are right, our way is right, if our hearts are dark, how dark our journey is, how dark the lives of those around us need our responsibilities.

Decide, you want to be a blessing or a curse, let our lives be used up for God ...

WISDOM & TESTIMONY Secrets to Chick-Fil-A’s Success: Biblical Application in Corporate Management

With its headquarter in Atlanta, Georgia, Chick-Fil-A is the second largest chicken fast-food restaurant chains with over 1,482 stores; for 42 consecutive years, they have had a continuous growth and have an annual revenue of 3.2 billion dollars. Recently, their company

representative shared the secrets to their management success – applying Biblical principles into corporate management.

Chick-Fil-A corporate management advisor Mark Fauk shared with around 100 Chinese Christians in the restaurant ministries and businesses from around the world the management principles at the World Christian Restaurant Ministries Leadership conference held in New York City.

Founded in Georgia in 1946 by Truett Cathy, Chick-Fil-A started as a private fast-food restaurant. In 1967, they’ve started its first branch in Atlanta. Ever since then, the company multiplied immensely. Now, the company is operating in 38 states in America and has become the second largest chicken fast-food chain restaurant just behind Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Then, what exactly is the management principle that led Chick-Fil-A to today’s accomplishment? Fauk’s response was to apply the biblical principles into corporate management.

Fauk explained that the core managers of the Chick-Fil-A are all Christian; everyone together follows biblical principles in leading the entire team in business management.

“This is the secret to our success,” he revealed.

Unlike other businesses that only aim at generating revenues, Chick-Fil-A is motivated by the principles of the Bible.

“To us, doing business is not simply about earning money, but what’s more important than generating revenues is to let Chick-Fil-A become God’s faithful managers in glorifying God, and positively influence those who Chick-Fil-A comes in contact with.”

In another words, their mission and purpose is to be a company that glorify God and bring positive good to people by striving towards their ideal set after biblical principles.

In order to manage development by following the will of God and biblical principles, the qualities of leadership would no doubt play an important

role. On the attributes of the leaders, Fauk listed six points: insightful and shapes the future; invites others to participate, gives others opportunities for development; innovate incessantly; focused on cause and effects; resembles proper values and servant leadership.

Yet another distinct characteristic of Chick-Fil-A is their policy of not operating on Sundays. And for this reason, Chick-Fil-A have had lost some opportunity for large sales. For example, when they’ve planned to enter into contract with Disney World in Florida, the park requested that they operate on Sundays, but they did not compromise, which resulted in the loss of the contract.

For restaurant businesses, Sunday is the golden time for making money, but what makes Chick-Fil-A so different in closing on Sundays?

“We pay a lot of attention to the faith of individuals. The purpose for not opening is so that everyone can get closer to God and become renewed in body, mind, and spirit.” He answered.

Although this policy has caused Chick-Fil-A to lose some money-making opportunities, they have received much more blessings and returns from God as a result of their faithfulness.

The reality testifies God’s faithfulness, he said. “Compared to the grace and wealth received from God, those lost opportunities is nothing.”

Besides letting Christian employees observe their Sundays, Chick-Fil-A would hold worship services every Monday morning at 8am, welcoming nonChristian employees to participate. All of these actions are to allow ChickFil-A to truly become a company owned by God, allowing it to be a platform that serves as the salt and light for the Lord, glorifying God and benefitting everyone.

International Christian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) lahir dari kepatuhan terhadap visi yang diberikan selama kurun waktu enam tahun kepada seorang usahawan Swedia J. Gunnar Olson, yang diteguhkan dengan nubuatan dan terbukanya pintu kesempatan disekitarnya yang sebelumnya tertutup.

ICCC merupakan panggilan yang serius dan menantang bagi pengusaha Kristen untuk mengenali jaman yang sedang kita masuki dan dengan terang dari pengenalan itu memasuki dimensi iman yang baru yang disediakan bagi mereka yang …” takut akan TUHAN … berbicara satu sama lain … dan menghormati namaNya.” (Maleakhi 3: 16) Visi ini memanggil para pengusaha dan kaum profesi di seluruh dunia yang terbeban untuk saling berhubungan, bertukar pendapat, memperdagang-kan barang dan menyediakan jasa, saling mendukung dan menguatkan secara rohani dan materi.

Berdasarkan eksistensi dari visi itu sendiri memproklamirkan otoritas Kristus yang mutlak diseluruh dunia.

Pada intinya ICCC adalah kehendak TUHAN untuk memperluas tali kasih-Nya, melalui gereja-Nya, didalam dunia usaha. Hal ini menuntut para pelaku bisnis mencari terlebih dahulu Kerajaan-Nya dan segala Kebenaran-Nya. Urapan tersedia bagi mereka yang dengan mata melihat dan telinga mendengar panggilan jaman.

Sebagaimana halnya Raja Daud yang menerima urapan untuk menjadi raja, jauh sebelum dia menjadi Raja, yang keadaan pada saat urapan diberikan sama sekali tidak mungkin bagi Daud untuk menjadi Raja, demikianlah ICCC memanggil para pengusaha Kristen sebelum peristiwanya terjadi untuk mengalami kebebasan masuk ke dalam dimensi baru, dimana sasaran, strategi dan perencanaan bersama-sma diwujudnyatakan sesuai dengan iman di dalam Kristus.

ICCC mencanangkan panggilan itu sejalan dengan rencana TUHAN bagi jaman ini sebagai kunci memperoleh berkat dan pertumbuhan dan agar dapat bangkit berkemenangan diatas gelombang ombak yang mengancam.

Panggilan ICCC: “Mereka akan menjadi milik kesayanganKu sendiri, firman TUHAN semesta Alam pada hari yang Kusiapkan. Aku akan mengasihi mereka sama seperti seseorang menyayangi anaknya yang melayani dia. Maka kamu akan melihat kembali perbedaan antara orang benar dan orang fasik, antara orang yang beribadah kepada TUHAN dan orang yang tidak beribadah kepada-Nya.” (Maleakhi 3: 17-18) KEYAKINAN IMAN ICCC: 

Satu-satunya TUHAN pencipta segala sesuatu dalam kesatuan Trinitas: Bapa, Anak, dan Roh Kudus.



Keilahian TUHAN Yesus Kristus. Kelahiran-Nya dari rahim seorang Perawan. Karya penebusan dosa manusia melalui kematian-Nya diatas kayu salib. Kebangkitan-Nya. Hak otoriatas diri-Nya atas dunia dan Kedatangan-Nya yang kedua kali dalam Kuasa dan Kemuliaan-Nya.



Alkitab, sepenuhnya sebagai Firman TUHAN yang memberikan inspirasi dan berbagai peraturan bagi kehidupan yang dilandasi iman.



Keselamatan pribadi orang berdosa dan kebutuhannya untuk mengalami proses regenerasi melalui karya Roh Kudus dalam menuju menjadikannya sebagai manusia yang dikehendaki oleh TUHAN, seutuhnya.

Transformed Working Life (TWL) adalah Pelatihan resmi dari Kantor Internasional bagi anggota ICCC dalam memperlengkapi anggota dengan pengetahuan dan pemahaman latar belakang, tujuan dan penerapan prinsipprinsip Kerajaan TUHAN bagi dunia bisnis dan profesi.

TWL diperuntukkan bagi anggota dan dapat diikuti secara cuma-cuma, namun terbuka juga bagi siapa saja yang berminat untuk mengikutinya.

TWL diselenggarakan dalam bahasa Indonesia dan dilengkapi dengan buku panduannya, yang telah diterjemahkan kedalam Bahasa Indonesia juga, sehingga para peserta betul-betul akan memperoleh manfa’at yang besar dan mengalami transformasi dalam kehidupan pribadi maupun bisnisnya.

TWL difasilitasi oleh anggota National Board yang terlatih dan dikoordinir oleh V.P. Teaching: Benjamin B. Juwono bersama dengan Teaching Team: a.l.

Johanis S. Najoan dan Eliezer H. Hardjo Transformed Working Life (TWL) akan ditayangkan dalam salah satu channel di Indonesia agar dapat dimanfaatkan oleh para pebisnis & profesional Kristiani di Indonesia bagaimana menerapkan prinsip-prinsip Kerajaan Tuhan dalam kehidupan berbisnis dan bekerja mereka.

TWL bagi members secara rutin diadakan pada hari Sabtu ke 2 setiap bulan dan terbuka dan dianjurkan bagi semua member untuk mengikutinya sebagai pembekalan wajib.

CORPORATE MEDIATION AND SERVICES Corporate Mediation and Services (CMS) is known as the emergency clinic provided by the ICCC Indonesia to help and assist any company owned by the ICCC Indonesia members, individually and/or a partnership corporation belong to two or more members. In addition, CMS is also providing assistance to any company belong to nonmembers as long as they are willing to follow the rules and biblical principles offered by and through CMS. I.

SCOPE OF SERVICES: 1. To link and bring the companies together.

2. To provide consultation to the company in trouble.

3. To provide training to the staff using Transformed Working Life (TWL) training materials.

4. To act as a mediator between two or more parties that involve in conflict due to many reasons.

PROCEDURE: 1. The ICCC Member to contact CMS Centre 2. The participating consultant to visit the company or companies which require help, to discuss about the problems and possible help and assistance to solve the problems.

Tall trees – deep roots In ICCC we talk of tall trees, meaning mature Christian men and women who understand the vision and have implemented it in their business and working lives.

We don’t usually have hurricanes in the UK but in 1987 the southern part of England suffered a major hurricane. Literally millions of trees were blown over - in my own garden over 50 trees were lost. Our village was completely cut off as every road out was blocked by fallen trees.

Massive trees were just blown completely over - the root ball now being completely exposed. Many of the trees were so large it would take at least two people with arms outstretched to reach round their trunk.

What is the message? Roots are very important, no matter how tall the tree may appear.

Indeed, the taller the tree, the deeper the roots must be if it is going to stand in the storms.

So we should consider our roots. Paul writes to the Ephesians and teaches them that Christ dwells in their hearts through faith (chapter 3). Acting in faith and running our business lives by faith is one of the major messages of ICCC, and is taught through TWL. Paul goes on to show the most important aspect of a life of faith - that is being rooted and grounded in the love of God (see Eph 3:17). When we are deeply rooted and grounded in this love, and we begin to comprehend just how high, deep, wide and long is this love of Jesus – then we are beginning to know the love that surpasses knowledge.

A love that fills us with all the fullness of God. We then come, or are coming to, a position of great confidence in the Lord because we know we are the recipients of His very great love We have become or are becoming tall trees. But be warned, the same Ephesians that Paul wrote to in his letter are later told in Revelation (chapter 2) that, although in many ways they are going well, they are in danger because they have left their first love.

So here is the question – how deep is your love relationship with the Lord? Could you be more in love with Jesus than you are right now? Time to get roots down deeper in His love for you!

Lord, fill me with more and more revelation of your love for me, that I in turn may overflow with love for Jesus, Amen
