AUGUST 2020 FROM THE DESK OF THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT Shalom ... and Merdeka!

Our nation has entered the age of 75 years of independence on August 17, 2020. Long live the beloved Republic of Indonesia! As a large nation we should be proud that God united us from hundreds of ethnic groups, hundreds of dialects and dozens of thousands of islands.

Every time, God has a way to shape us to continue to be like Christ and / or know His will perfectly and be able to manifest recognition in Him in our daily lives in our business / work.

Covid-19's actions continued to increase, the threat of economic recession before the eyes, prompting the government to try to help the people by adopting a new normal, which is to return to work but with strict health protocols.

Independence must encourage us to have the attitude to be free to do things with full responsibility in social life, work and freedom without obstacles in serving our living God. Independence should place us now in a time space / time where God is truly free to shape us to be in accordance with His will or plan. At a time or time when everything we produce from working hard, can be used freely by God for His plan, not our plan.

We are only an extension of His plan, not the other way we use God to fulfill our plans.

Let's enjoy the month in which we commemorate the independence of our nation, also reminding us, that we have been redeemed to be free from slavery to sin, slavery from futile plans, to freedom to do what the citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven are supposed to do.

We, invite you to attend group meetings once a month in a series of joint growth in managing our business or career with business owners and professionals who fear God in the form of topics and themes of TWL modules that are interesting online, we will soon announce them .

NATIONAL BOARD ICCC INDONESIA Kembali pada hari Sabtu tanggal 18 Juli National Board ICCC Indonesia mengadakan Monthly Meeting melalui tele-conference yang dihadiri oleh 7 Anggota National Board: Umbu Pekuwali – National President, Benjamin B. Juwono Regional Director for Asia yang merangkap V.P. Teaching untuk ICCC Indonesia, dan anggota NB lainnya: Tonny Soetjoadi, Johanis S. Najoan, Simon Aditan, Hendro Tjahjono dan Eliezer H. Hardjo membicarakan perkembangan ICCC khususnya terkait dengan dampak Covid-19 dan Emergency Clinic.

Emergency Clinic telah dimulai di Eropah untuk menolong perusahaanperusahaan kecil – menengah bagaimana menghadapi dan keluar dari tekanan pandemic Covid-19 baik perusahaan milik anggota ICCC maupun untuk umum.

Bantuan berupa evaluasi dan rekomendasi awal. Untuk selanjutnya ditangani secara professional.

WISDOM & TESTIMONY 7 Temptations During COVID-19 Isolation

by Peter Mead The vast majority of us have no experience of living in these new and challenging circumstances, and as church leaders we have to figure out how to feed, lead, care and protect our flocks on the job. To begin with there is a novelty element, and also the sense of focus that a crisis generates in us. But there will be temptations and we would be wise to anticipate them for ourselves, as well as for others: 1. Despair - For many of us, words like, "give us this day our daily bread" have always been somewhat theoretical. Suddenly our vulnerability as humans is vividly real. For some the virus itself is a fear, for all of us the impact on society and life is challenging. It is probably not good to develop an obsession with news updates and constantly refreshing the global death count. Be informed, but be far more hungry to fill your heart with hope from God's Word - you need that, and so do those around you.

2. Depression - Don't let the initial social media enthusiasm for "time to do odd jobs" fool you. Life on lockdown will quickly become very challenging. Even with the blessings of video calls, the reduction in face-to-face human interaction is not something we are created to enjoy. As Christians we may not realise how much meeting together each week matters until we can't (and churches that plan to meet against government advice need to seriously consider the damage this will do to our shared witness!) Carrying the weight of a crisis for yourself, your family, and others, will be more than you can bear and depression in its various forms will be a very real and present danger. We need to learn to find strength, hope, rest and wisdom in God. 3. Blame - When the personal comfort of humans is challenged, blame tends to spill out. We can see it already on social media. Remember that Churchill was widely criticised early on, but lauded for his leadership with hindsight. I don't know if this generation will fully unite under crisis - the early signals are both yes and no. But let's be sure that we don't join in and make this about politics. Let's set a different tone

and show how good is the God who sits on the ultimate throne (and humbles himself to suffer life, with, and for us).

4. Distraction - For decades our western culture has increasingly found sophisticated ways of distracting itself and numbing the routine of a dull reality. This crisis will initially flag the insignificance of much of that distraction. There may be a sense of relief at the sudden lack of appetite for unimportant things that felt too important a month ago. But our human nature will crave distraction ... binge watching TV series and sports highlights, numbing fear and loss through alcohol and substance abuse, and the temptations that we struggled with before all this are not yet gone for good. Don't run from the situation before us, run to the throne of grace to find help, and be sure to be open with your sympathetic high priest about your own struggle with distraction - whatever form it may take under pressure.

5. Compromise - The added pressure of isolation, or of extra time with your family (which can also be really difficult), or of grief, fear, uncertainty, loss of income, etc., will potentially cause us to consider compromises that we would not have considered when life was the old normal. Typically civil people have become aggressive in supermarkets. Typically honest people are out there trying to make dishonest gain by selling their vast stocks of toilet rolls online at a high mark-up. Typically kind people are and will be tempted to steal, to lie, to cheat and to look out for their own interests as their top priority. And before we simply condemn sin in others, let's be sure to recognize that we may feel a pressure to compromise that we have never felt before. Again, read the Bible with open eyes and an open heart - seek the Lord before the pressures ramp up higher.

6. Burnout - Most of us are used to a certain level of stress from family and ministry life. But doing family and ministry in an ongoing crisis situation is a whole new level of pressure. You will be tempted to burnout by giving, giving, giving and not letting God refill your tanks, not looking after yourself with rest, sensible food, etc. Our inner Martha will rear its head in this time. That putting others first mentality that is so needed for the church to exist and for ministry to happen. But when our attitude starts to reveal an empty tank, then it is clear that we have not heeded the Mary example: be sure to sit at Jesus' feet and let him minister to you before you then pour out to others. Martha service will prove to be important, but lest we let that Martha tension undo the good, let's be sure to keep the Mary style devotion as a first priority.

7. Retreat - When everyone is socially withdrawing, it will be tempting to retreat into our own homes and look out for family and church family. Remember the rest of the world needs Jesus, and many of them have never been this close to realising it!

International Christian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) lahir dari kepatuhan terhadap visi yang diberikan selama kurun waktu enam tahun kepada seorang usahawan Swedia J. Gunnar Olson, yang diteguhkan dengan nubuatan dan terbukanya pintu kesempatan disekitarnya yang sebelumnya tertutup.

ICCC merupakan panggilan yang serius dan menantang bagi pengusaha Kristen untuk mengenali jaman yang sedang kita masuki dan dengan terang dari pengenalan itu memasuki dimensi iman yang baru yang disediakan bagi mereka yang …” takut akan TUHAN … berbicara satu sama lain … dan menghormati namaNya.” (Maleakhi 3: 16) Visi ini memanggil para pengusaha dan kaum profesi di seluruh dunia yang terbeban untuk saling berhubungan, bertukar pendapat, memperdagang-kan barang dan menyediakan jasa, saling mendukung dan menguatkan secara rohani dan materi.

Berdasarkan eksistensi dari visi itu sendiri memproklamirkan otoritas Kristus yang mutlak diseluruh dunia.

Pada intinya ICCC adalah kehendak TUHAN untuk memperluas tali kasih-Nya, melalui gereja-Nya, didalam dunia usaha. Hal ini menuntut para pelaku bisnis mencari terlebih dahulu Kerajaan-Nya dan segala Kebenaran-Nya. Urapan tersedia bagi mereka yang dengan mata melihat dan telinga mendengar panggilan jaman.

Sebagaimana halnya Raja Daud yang menerima urapan untuk menjadi raja, jauh sebelum dia menjadi Raja, yang keadaan pada saat urapan diberikan sama sekali tidak mungkin bagi Daud untuk menjadi Raja, demikianlah ICCC memanggil para pengusaha Kristen sebelum peristiwanya terjadi untuk mengalami kebebasan masuk ke dalam dimensi baru, dimana sasaran, strategi dan perencanaan bersama-sma diwujudnyatakan sesuai dengan iman di dalam Kristus.

ICCC mencanangkan panggilan itu sejalan dengan rencana TUHAN bagi jaman ini sebagai kunci memperoleh berkat dan pertumbuhan dan agar dapat bangkit berkemenangan diatas gelombang ombak yang mengancam.

Panggilan ICCC: “Mereka akan menjadi milik kesayanganKu sendiri, firman TUHAN semesta Alam pada hari yang Kusiapkan. Aku akan mengasihi mereka sama seperti seseorang menyayangi anaknya yang melayani dia. Maka kamu akan melihat kembali perbedaan antara orang benar dan orang fasik, antara orang yang beribadah kepada TUHAN dan orang yang tidak beribadah kepada-Nya.” (Maleakhi 3: 17-18) 6

KEYAKINAN IMAN ICCC: 

Satu-satunya TUHAN pencipta segala sesuatu dalam kesatuan Trinitas: Bapa, Anak, dan Roh Kudus.



Keilahian TUHAN Yesus Kristus. Kelahiran-Nya dari rahim seorang Perawan. Karya penebusan dosa manusia melalui kematian-Nya diatas kayu salib. Kebangkitan-Nya. Hak otoriatas diri-Nya atas dunia dan Kedatangan-Nya yang kedua kali dalam Kuasa dan Kemuliaan-Nya.



Alkitab, sepenuhnya sebagai Firman TUHAN yang memberikan inspirasi dan berbagai peraturan bagi kehidupan yang dilandasi iman.



Keselamatan pribadi orang berdosa dan kebutuhannya untuk mengalami proses regenerasi melalui karya Roh Kudus dalam menuju menjadikannya sebagai manusia yang dikehendaki oleh TUHAN, seutuhnya.

Transformed Working Life (TWL) adalah Pelatihan resmi dari Kantor Internasional bagi anggota ICCC dalam memperlengkapi anggota dengan pengetahuan dan pemahaman latar belakang, tujuan dan penerapan prinsipprinsip Kerajaan TUHAN bagi dunia bisnis dan profesi.

TWL diperuntukkan bagi anggota dan dapat diikuti secara cuma-cuma, namun terbuka juga bagi siapa saja yang berminat untuk mengikutinya.

TWL diselenggarakan dalam bahasa Indonesia dan dilengkapi dengan buku panduannya, yang telah diterjemahkan kedalam Bahasa Indonesia juga, sehingga para peserta betul-betul akan memperoleh manfa’at yang besar dan mengalami transformasi dalam kehidupan pribadi maupun bisnisnya.

CORPORATE MEDIATION AND SERVICES Corporate Mediation and Services (CMS) is known as the emergency clinic provided by the ICCC Indonesia to help and assist any company owned by the ICCC Indonesia members, individually and/or a partnership corporation belong to two or more members. In addition, CMS is also providing assistance to any company belong to non-members as long as they are willing to follow the rules and biblical principles offered by and through CMS. I.

SCOPE OF SERVICES: 1. To link and bring the companies together.

2. To provide consultation to the company in trouble.

3. To provide training to the staff using Transformed Working Life (TWL) training materials.

4. To act as a mediator between two or more parties that involve in conflict due to many reasons.

PROCEDURE: 1. The ICCC Member to contact CMS Centre 2. The participating consultant to visit the company or companies which require help, to discuss about the problems and possible help and assistance to solve the problems.

3. To pray together 4. To set-up the follow-up 5. The CMS will evaluate and submit a proposal on how to handle the problem.

Get a higher viewpoint Peter Michell

We are in this world but not of it. Our true and eternal home is in heaven.

We are just passing through this journey on earth. So, it’s best to get a higher viewpoint.

What does heaven have to say to me? What does heaven have to say in this or that situation?

What does the Lord think about all that I do? Is the Lord pointing or calling me towards this thing or that?

On one occasion when teaching TWL in Africa, a brother came up to me and said, ‘you are like a giraffe.’ Was this a compliment? He went on, ‘you have your feet on the ground and your head in the heavens,’ A great description of just how we should be in life.

In the heavenly realm is located all truth, and all we need to know – both practically and spiritually. How do I ? - fill in your own question. By asking in prayer, even technical and practical things can be resolved. Instead of struggling with a problem - as we often do for hours, before we give up and pray - why not pray first?

There are trials and problems in all aspects of life – Jesus warned that there would be tribulation in life. James urges us to count it all joy when we experience these difficulties. How can that be? It’s not some sort of ‘grit your teeth and smile!’ No, James knew that every trial was an opportunity for the Lord. James said, if you lack wisdom, don’t know the answer, or don’t know how to proceed – then ask of God, who will give liberally without finding fault. (See James 1:5) Don’t doubt. God is the God of all hope – the happy expectation of good.

Get the higher viewpoint.

This is the higher viewpoint - all we will ever need is fully known in the heavenly realm. God’s kingdom has all the answers we will ever need.

James further advises – ‘You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.’ James 4:2-3 Ask and ask right.

‘So I say ask and it will be given you, seek and you will find, and to him who knocks it will be opened.’ Luke 11:9. This is Jesus’s instruction and invitation – ask, ask, ask - keep on asking Me things.

When we ask in prayer, we are demonstrating that we know the Lord, that we know His goodness and kindness, and that we expect Him to respond. Indeed, James advises that we may need patience, but nevertheless our answer will come – be patient and have the happy expectation of good while we wait.
