Located in the heart of Sonnenallee, a multi-ethnic street in Berlin, it is set to cre ate a space of production amidst spatial, social, cultural and economic tensions and opportunities. The scheme is a civic infra structure for makers, learners and teachers, where each stage of making is represented and carefully distributed within the archi tecture. The targeted users are equally di verse and are encouraged to book sessions in groups of 8. The act of making, equivo cate the act of recollecting, and therefore the individual designs are narratives of ideas, thoughts and impressions of places, experiences, and cultures. The architectural language itself is an amalgamation and re interpretation of the language of surround ing buildings. The new amplifies what already is, impacting the economic, envi ronmental and cultural fabric of the old. The scheme has been designed with an ad equate sustainable strategy, where each stage of the lifespan of the building has been considered. Local production and circular economy were also analysed and synthesised within the composition of the scheme.

By purchasing a souvenir, the buyer attributes a post-production value to the object. Whilst making the souve nir, the intentionality of designing and executing the object is transposed into a discovery of oneself and the city. The design is sparked by the engagement with the site, and the experience, memories and sentiments that resulted from the visit.

TECHNICAL DETAILS
Project location: Blackpool Boating Pool Project typology: Civic scheme
Software used: Revit,Photoshop. The concept of death, life, and memory were explored in the creation of an anti thetical atmospheric civic scheme. Birth and death alike are unavoidable and essential. Regardless of faith or philosophical beliefs, every human is set to experience both events. The antonyms share a common ground: the individual does not consciously witness the act of being brought to life or ceasing to exist. As opposed to the com munity that surrounds them, who is privy to such details and is the keeper of those memories. The scheme aims to provide a place for those individuals and their com munity. A place made for the witnesses, survivors, and ultimately, for the commem oration of the celebrants.

A celebration of life 28 Upon standing or seating in the gath ering space the users is made small. When confronted with a death or a birth, we feel small, in awe. And based on the circumstance surrounding life or death, we can either feel powerful or powerless. Both feelings convey magnitude and grandeur, which are ex pressed in the volume of the gathering space. DEVELOPING THROUGH MODEL MAKING
