The Westbury Union Free School District (WUFSD) seal is a refreshing take on the original that unifies contemporary and traditional thinking while preserving WUFSD's historical significance and heritage. We now can look at the logo and give it true purpose and context anyone can relate to and associate with the school district moving forward.

The Circle is the symbol of unity. It is also the symbol of infinity, perfect, the ultimate geometric symbol without beginning or end. The reconfigured school district name makes its home here, with 'Westbury' starting at the top, making for a better read.

The Flaming Torch is the beacon of enlightenment, lighting the way to a better tomorrow while eradicating the darkness of ignorance. Look closer, and you will see the flame on top of the torch is in the shape of a W, for "Westbury." There are also three peaks on the flame's head, which represent the three most significant influences on our children's public education, The Board of Education, The Administration and Staff, and The Community Families. It does take a village.

The Rays have six spaces in between, one for each school: Dryden Street, Drexel Avenue, Park Avenue, Powells Lane, Westbury Middle, and Westbury High Schools.

The Open Book represents education and learning. It opens up a whole new realm of possibilities as one progresses through life. It now boasts 'ESTD 1921' spread across the pages marking the school district's 100 years of history.

The Laurel Wreath stands for honor and achievement, highly coveted as the symbol of victory, success, and triumph.
